i dont understand the ending after the credits. at the end of dear martel, maylee came and saved the guy, but what happened to leanne? and was that her mom at the very end? and i still dont understand if martel is related to leanne`s mom.
1. i think she wanted to die at the end, because during the game she would always say "i dont want to die without my memories" or something of the sort. 2. i was reading the comments and im like what sound? then i watched the video all the way through and just when im like "theres no sound..." it happened and gave me a heart attack :)
But I think it's sort of like a wish granted. The main character wanted a happy relationship mom/child but didn't have one when she was growing up. Now is her chance to start life renew. Although now she's the mother.
and as for leanne having epicari, she did take the theresia before she fell asleep, but you gotta remember that she came into contact with many of those purple bodies on here trek through the facility. Id like to think on a brighter note about that disrbing sound. Like maybe its just her own wounds opening back up and she collapsed from the pain or something. since she had been so determined to leave, once she had, well... everything just caught up with her. but i know im probly wrong

But looking at this video...It looks like Emile and even Leanne is there in the field. that black shadow does look like Emile, but to Emile's right (our left) it looks like a small person in white. I played this last night, at like 3am. As the credits had rolled, I knew something was coming so.. I turned away the DS, I didn't dare to watch it. I take this game quite seriously, and I find the story line very disturbing. Even now when I did watch the part, it scared me.
When Leanne started to feel that she was just like her mother and tried to run out of the field of red flowers, hallucination just got her. The baby didn't exist at all, and Leanne fainted before the credits screen.
The 1st-person camera was lowered down to the flowers during the credits to suggest that she had fallen over.
After the credits, she got conscious and stood up. She noticed someone standing ahead. She barely saw the figure as the camera zoomed in, before she fainted again, probably due to being stabbed with something as the sound suggested.
Mysteriously, the figure (5:11) appeared to be...Emile Theresia.

Im with you, although, I think that with the bloodloss, and other injuries, that maybe Leanne was hallucinating the image of her mother, and when she ran towards it, that was it for her body and she just fainted, also, I think that the baby never was there.

Very good theory. It seems that baby is just Leane's hallucination. That is probably the side effect of Theresia as what Maylee whispers to the protagonist of Dear Martel in end.
In fact, I suspect the ending of Dear Martel where the protagonist meets Maylee is too the hallucination.
Ok, this may sound rather puzzling, but what is that baby doing outside the flowerly meadow during the time Leane is searching to escape that dungeon? How long has the baby being there? Weird, it's liked history repeats itself once more. Is Leane going to follow her mother footstep and becomes the torturer too while being possessive of that baby?
If you end the second story, the ending scene is almost surely an Illusion from the caracter, since Maylee is dead and she's coming back to bring him with her in the Dark Foret (Which could be seen as the Dead World).
Both ending are indeed confusing... But thats what I like about it, nobody can be 100% sure about the real ending.

No, Maylee is not dead. Remember the note when it says she escapes after she helps Leane and Emile hid in the underground prison? She did escape safely.

I dont think there was really a baby outside.
