Well, I am an Ike player myself, he's my favorite character, but i have to admit he is kinda OP (Overppowered). I've learned that if you can master his A special moves, and apply those as well as the B smash moves that he's almost unbeatable as far as a fair fight goes... BUT, Ike has a lot of exploitable weaknesses. Small stages that change a lot leave Ike prone in some situations where his UP B move will get him killed, stages like Delfino Isle and Wario Ware.

he's powerful yes but painfully slow if someone gets the first hit and takes ages to charge up powerful moves so they actully work well.

1-His B move can kill the oponet easily if it has at least 50% damage

2-He doesn't fall off ledges when he uses his forward-B move on the ground,but Cpt Falcon,Fox,Wolf,Falco and the IceClimbers do? Yeah,because Ike is SOOO SPECIAL -_-

3-Up-B move.Nuff said

4-Spam his forward-A moves until your oponet gets 50% damage,use the B move and there you go.YOU WIN!

after reading a few comments i kept seeing ike is over powered now i dont disagree but there is one major bad side if your fighting a fast character,since ikes sword is so heavy if he does a move like a smash attack theres abit of delay,also with his up B if you miss the platforms your screwed,but there is an upside which i like :) people cant camp down below ready to attack you because he up B follows through all the way to the ground also his down B is extreamly useful if used correctly :)

ike has the move with the highest knockback of the game (doesnt include final smashs) becasue his eruption (normal B) can kill practically with more than 15% damage the only bad point it takes time to charge and do 10% of damage (good that it has super armour)

@cansigno93 Um, Ganon and King Dedede have the the highest knockback, with ganon's warlock punch, and King DDD's front smash. Ike's 3rd, as far as I know.

to be the best with ike all you have to do is use all of his attacks to your advantage like to get to the other side of the stage use his side b and chain it with the normal attacks.use the aether only to recover the stage or almost sometimes with the smash ball. if your landing on the stage use the normal b attack or use his down a attack and use smash attacks to kill if they get to close (preferably use up charge NO AETHER) and train on lvl 9 computors if you can beat three you are good

R u messed up? Kirby was my original favorite character, and after using ike, ike is now one of my most favorite characters too. Kirby can pwn with his hammer, ahrd hits and his rock attack. Ike on the other hand is pure power, and total ownage. He can kill someone with extremely low damage, and his slowness isnt much of a burden, especially considering his side b attack which is hella fast. If u use side b and dont hit an enemy u can continue it without delay with a few hits.

Ike's not half as manly as Captain Falcon or Ganondorf.

Captain Falcon can punch so hard fire comes out of his hands, and Ganondorf has a sword but chooses not to use it, since fighting with your bare hands is manlier.

Upside: His double sword causes great damage when used effectively- he's even capable of making K.O.s to players with low percentage.

Downside: Due to the sword's weight, he couldn't jump as high; and he falls down faster, too.

Overall: He's pretty good if you're looking for someone who can deal out severe attacks, but keep in mind that some people can use his slowness to their advantage.

I have the english version and Ike's Japanees (can't spell it!) voice rocks! I love his "dui tean kuu (can't spell that either!) or "great aether". I also like it when he makes this sound like "Boiya!" When you hold down regular B for a while.

Ike is so difficult to use.

If you fight against good players, you need

such a hard training to actually do things in the right moment...he just lacks in speed.

Still, the Super Armor is the way to go.

I personally choose Marth over Ike because, you know, Ike moves like a tank with lots of power and a so-so F/S while Marth is a speedy, combo madman with a almost guaranteed 1 hit KO F/S. But this is just my opinion.

I will state my opinion in saying that Ike being your main, although he isn't spammy he is overpowered. Pit was BUILT for spam. MK can spam, but he takes true skill to use, and MArth... Well, he just rocks. :)

In order of my mains, either current, attempted or abandoned:

1. Kirby (Since the original babeh! :) )

2. Snake (Snake?? SNAAAAAAKKKKEEE!!!)

3. Lucas (Ness, but more pwn and less accent)

Fourth, I can't recall completely, but I believe it was Olimar.

Okay, I just got the game yesterday, so I'm still a noob ;) Ike's one of my favorites up till now tho.

Something about Ike I might be doing wrong: I can't seem to jump up really high, even with double jump. Is that cuz I suck, or is that just one of his limitations?

Also, this one time, I jumped up and I twisted like I was circular saw and I hurt my opponent. Does anyone know how to do that? It might be something I picked up, I don't know, but I cannot reproduce it :(

I'll admit, at first I was a bit prejudice againist using sword characters, but today I seriously picked up Ike and man did it feel good. I was KOing left and right, jumping up and "d-air"ing ppl to their death. Other Ike players tried to spam Smash and B attacks to kill me, but I used his quick attacks (Ground-AAA, "B-air", grabbing and Down-B counter) to severely punish them and send them flying up(u-air) and shooting down (d-air).
