i think her sales started to drop when she became more sexy and sultry, with a more mature vibe and many R&B sounds. That happens to ALL artists though. Britney and Christina for example. She just needs to pull through this recession and focus now on the American market. Her album is good, but no Asian singer has made it in the US up until now. Anyway, meanwhile she can come up with ideas to get back Japan. BTW Ayu's sales have dropped too considerably.

Her image has NEVER been "sexy" nor will I ever think it will be. Avex took way too long for her image to mature in Japan while she was like a completely different person in Korea with better music.
Her career didn't fall apart. The BoA we all loved just grew up. I loved the "young BoA" too, there was more dancing^^ I like a lot of her newer songs though too.

In 2003, Valenti sold over 1,000,000 copies, the in 04 Love & Honesty sold more than 600,000, Best of Soul only sold over a million because it was her greatist songs on one CD, then MIT sold less than 400,000! The Face only sold 183,000, and her new single hasn't even sold 30K, her career is falling apart with every new album and single, and yes, it is good. But the Japanese public don't like it. So, it is. And I hope she gets through it.
I don't think Korea will help much(though new Korean music would be nice), because no one has been selling there. She needs to disappear for a few and plan on taking back Japan and then do stuff in Korean and get rid of tha accent and go for America. I really don't think it matters how good her music is, it still doesn't sell. She needs to take a break and begin writing her own, and also making so that it is her, but to make sure the people will like it.
