I used to live in Colorado Springs and I can tell you without a doubt that this is one of the most exhilarating drives that you can take. (Not to mention that it's stupid fun with a killer sports car!) And to answer previous questions, yes rocks fall there all of the time. they have now placed mesh "curtains" over the rocks so that when they fall, they don't go all over the road like they used to.
@aswchris: I would imagine that constructing roads through the Alps is a much more challenging endeavor, vs the Rockies, since the Rockies are more broad and gradual, vs. the jagged and almost razor-sharp mountains that defines the Alps.
I've been watching more of these videos, they are addicting. It was great seeing all of the California segments, now I live in Colorado Springs... this is awesome.
I think it's a great video as always. I also think it's amazing how close the rockface gets close to the roadway (1:51) and (2:27).. Also wasn't clear and sunny at the begining of the film.
I like driving mountain roads, it tests you skills as a driver. Paired w/ the song and you've got a truly awesome video. Do you eventually get to South Park on that road? :)
This reminds me of Sheryl Crow's old song called, "Everyday is a winding road". I have never seen roads curve back and forth so much...it was making dizzy just watching it. LOL Good video.
nice expressway .the beginning was exceptional . intresting music , which worked perfectly . thumbs up for sure. someone obviously missed the like button, and doesnt know a good roadway if they ever seen one.
@B190489 Yep... CDOT uses them on a lot of the state and federal highways. In El Paso county, they are almost universal for new signal installations. LED street lighting too!
Colorado is such a pretty place to visit. I love the Rocky Mountains

Do rocks really fall off the cliff when driving?

@HardKore5250: They can, during inclement weather, especially after a heavy rainfall.

The roads in the Rockies are much higher than in the Alps, where they usually do not exceed 8,000 ft.

Very cool route. I would have been nervous going around all those blind curves like that. Well done Brent!

This video is going in my favorites. I love how it goes from a twisty mountain road to a straight road with small hills to the side.
5 stars!
