  • To the maker of this video, what country are you from? By American measuring standards, this video should say B6 - G#7 not B7 to G#8. But I have seen the G#7 of Georgia Brown called G#8 many times. That is wrong. It is G#7 not G#8

  • Haha, that picuture of a dolphin!!! SO great!

  • What about julie andrews as a child?

  • opera singers do use whistle register to sing c6 and up b/c there is not other way,LOL the notes c6 and up are all flute/whistle register :) flute is the old term(in classical opratic singing) for it and whistle(in pop singing) is the new term. WILL SOMEONE PICK UP A BOOK AND STOP LISTENING TO UNEDUCATED DUMB ASSES ON YOUTUBE PLEASE!!! OMG

  • some of u ppl are just stupid,LOL whistle register is not song in normal head voice no matter who is singing the high upper notes! smh it is all whsitle register no matter what! and yes mariah can u stupid ass.

  • mariah knows how to sing in tune in her head voice and her whistle register

  • @WotanKrieger i cannot have an opinion about Caret, i don't know the person, is she a singer? maybe in your country?

  • @WotanKrieger are related to Hitler or something? lol pop music is amazing! and Mariah Carey is one of the best singers and song writers or our days!

  • are you people crazy? someone cannot compare an opera singer and a pop singer even though both uses whistle register. Mariah Carey has mastered her style to the top. As well those opera ladies. Opera singing is a very hard style to learn and sing. Requires special talent and those who can use their whistle registers are rare voices. But the same goes in pop singing.

  • @charisaob Whistle register is NEVER used in opera singing. Robin is quite a thrill precisely because she reaches those very high notes in regular head register. Let me remind you there is NO artificial enhancement device or microphone allowed in opera, so singers need volume to be heard over an orchestra. So called whistle 'singing' is utterly inaudible without a microphone, along with the fact it is NOT singing at all (since the vocal chords do NOT vibrate during whistle singing)...

  • @Adarlambion i respect your info, im new to this whistle thing myself, im an opera student, and i have clear notes above E6 since i was 15 years old. Watching Mado Robin teaches me. I don;t know what kind of technique singers use for whistle, all i know is that i want to do it in a healthy way myself, with respect for pop, rock, and opera voices that are well known and have build a huge career.

  • @charisaob why are you lsiten to this dumb ass??! LOl if you ar going to school for opera then ur teacher will tll you that opera singers do use whistle register to sing c6 and up b/c there is not other way,LOL the notes c6 and up are all flute/whistle register :) flute is the old temr for it and whistle is the new term. do ur self a favor and stop believeing dumb ass on youtube who obviously are stupid and cant read. always ask your teacher. iam opraticly trained my self.

  • @lathanregintree personally i think both of you need to calm down. No she hasn;t make to me anything clear because she caused me vocal nodules and now I don;t sing at all until they will go away.

Whistle or no whistle the point is that there are some rare voices that actually can control and sing up there beautiful. To sing up that high your vocal cords are closing to the minimum and they vibrating really really fast.

  • @Adarlambion Yes you're right [:

Mado Robin has the Guiness Record for reaching the highest note WITHOUT whitle register

Come on people, opera is way TOO MUCH MORE difficult than pop, all I was going to say is summarized in @HaberfieldChiro comment above d:

Anyway, pop divas are just too basic to be compared to any opera singer heheh

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua first of all learn to spell "whistle" and second that is not what her record says, lol b/c you can not sing c6-bb6 etc.. with out being in the whistle register which you do not know b/c you are stupid!LMAO she holds the record for highest note song by a opera singer for her time you might want to learn to read :''-D

  • @lathanregintree Poor toddler, a person who writes "first of all learn to spell "whistle"" deserves no attention lol Ok, people like you actually need to listen to opera before talking, since I'm not in the mood for arguing with someone like you, I just recommend you to read all @Adarlambion comments below, he's right, you're not. I think you should read some comments I made in another pathetic video, they're really long so I'm going to copy-paste

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua as for you, whats your point? Try to sing like Mariah, nobody can, she is a school, everyone after her ,mimic her way 20 years now. No matter how you call it, to go up that high your vocal cords are closing and they vibrating really fast. Thats it, one thing. You call it head voice, in pop they call it whistle because it is sounds like whistle. Simple as that and those are facts, not opinions, which you can find all over the internet.

  • @charisaob Ok, first than all, thank you, yes, thank you for being more intelligent and less pathetic and nasty than the previous girl that commented. Well, as for what you said, you're wrong, whistling is not the same than head voice, whistle register is a very childish and no complex technique if compared to head voice, just watch the videos I suggested, it seems you didn't, there's the evidence of your error, you can't compare opera with pop, come on, that's ridiculous! You're not stupid [:

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua as if,lol i went to school for this and am opraticly trained with a 6 octave vocal range e2-d8 so no i will not read a thing,LOL go kill ur self :''-D

  • @lathanregintree Your teacher is sodisappointed of you lol "am opraticly trained with a 6 octave vocal range e2-d8" LOL D8 with that pathetic whistle register?LOL Don't make me laugh, your pedantry is funny, you're like those idiots who think"higher is better" lol It depends on your technique, not your vocal range, whistle is not singing so you're nothing. Yma Sumac (I'm sure you don't even know her) had 5 oc. (E2/E7) WITHOUT WHISTLE R. Opera singers use their voices, not microphones [;

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua HAAHAHHAH all i can do is laugh at sad ppl,lol you might want to learn to speak and write/type english before you comment trying to talk about some one else!!LOL ur grammer is all fucked up! and dahhling range is not everything but thanks for trying to tell me what i think even though you were wrong :-D the soud and texture of the voice is more important then hitting some high note. the high notes are just the icing on top, rofl

  • @lathanregintree Confirmed, you're brainless, you're frivolity is extreme, you're deplorable... ]': You say my grammar is horrible, but... look at how you write lol Ok, poor toddler, go and play with your whistle, 'tis only a childish game, poor you, you're so worthless, you deserve no attention, bye and be happy with your brainless head lol

    Hail intelligence!

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua yet you replied back though,LOL you can not type properly,LOL you said i was writing but you can not write on a compter,LOL

  • @lathanregintree "you're frivolity" that's my sin? LOL You keep with your frivolity, and you keep writing like you will, oh, ok

    Bye brainless friend!

Please don't reply this, if you do, don't wait an answer of mine

Don't worry be happy, keep living in your illusory world lol

    Bye!

  • @Adarlambion At least there's another thinking being here, and @HaberfieldChiro is another intelligent person, I'm so sad these guys don't understand anything and they think they possess the truth. Anyway, I'm glad to know that at least someone like you exists [; Let's allow these toddlers dream that Mariah is better than lyrical singers, let's allow them dream lol

  • @Adarlambion mariah carey ?

  • great clips. Love the pics lolol.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't understand how people can even compare REAL singing with whistle singing, which is merely whistling through your vocal chords, without any vibration from them... Some do it nicely though, no doubt, but it still is NOT singing. Robin is a REAL opera singer, and could clearly be heard from a large audience in a large theater without ANY enhancing device, since opera NEVER used enhancing technology... There is NO WAY Ms. Carey (for instance) could even be heard without that technology.

  • @Adarlambion Mariah can actually sing though and doesn't just rely on her whistle notes atleast.

  • @fpngan Did I ever say that? Ms. Carey certainly can sing apart from whistling, you're right, for a pop singer. In Opera, you must be able to sing OVER a WHOLE orchestra WITHOUT microphone or other devices. You need a LOT of volume to achieve this. Ms. Carey whispers a lot in her songs, which is NOT allowed in opera, because nobody would hear those notes, plus whispering is not 'operatically' correct. Finally, Robin NEVER whistled, she was an opera singer, she just sang.

  • highest here note is g#7. mariah has a g#7 in her range. Why is it that all these videos are full of tone-deaf people who think its a g#8? its the silliest thing ever. They're all so convinced.

  • @DanyelHawkes Agreed about the g#7. However, Ms. Carey's high notes are whistled, whereas Ms. Robin's are SUNG normally, which makes a HUGE difference. Listen to her volume and vibrato and you'll see it is NOT whistle singing. Lyrical technique have been helping singers to be heard from a large audience in an entire theatre WITHOUT ANY enhancing device since the beginning of Opera. Ms. Carey (among many other pop singers) would barely be heard without heavy technology, in the same circumstances.

  • @Adarlambion I disagree. Its really a question of register. Ms Robin has a very light voice which allows her to slip into whistle register easier than most operatic sopranos. But as for volume control and technique in this stratosphere, Carey surpasses Robin ONLY in this register. Robin has a fantastic voice with great operatic technique. But when it comes to this one register, carey in her prime was untouchable

  • @DanyelHawkes "haS been helping singers..." Sorry^^

  • The whole video is off by an entire octave. The note at 0:15 & 0:32 is B6. The Georgia Brown note at 1:21 is not G#8!! It's G#7. The title should be B6-G#7 and Mariah Carey's notes should have been included.

  • Fuck you must be deaf. It's a G#8, it's not equivalent to G#7!

  • OMFG! People! that last note is a G# freaking 8! lol im being for reals! it cannot be G#7, it is way to freakingly hit for a 7th octave note! lol trust me i mean, listen to the note and then play the note on the piano and its definatelly not the same, however, its only that first hight note not the rest, those are in the 7th octave

  • i bet regine !!

  • @jhakecuh09 Regine.? who.?

  • Haha, I love pictures of these birds, dolphins and other shit :D

  • Sorry to burst your bubble people - that I'm saying it isn't high, it IS and it's extraordinarily impressive - but the note at 1:22 is a G7, not a G8 :P

  • @BrokenxRosesx - Thank you. I was just thinking the same thing. I was thinking, this is not off the piano, this is the last G# before the end, which makes it a G#7. You are absolutely right.

  • mado robin has a bird voice

  • who is singing at 0:15?I didn´t understand the vid´s description

  • WELL, I DONT HEAR ANYTHING :))

  • mariah can hit a g#8 too so dont hate

  • @FuturisticEssence no she didn't, she hit a G#7

  • @FuturisticEssence No. She can't, her highest note is a G#7. Well, it's amazing tho. Hitting higher notes does NOT make a singer better than the others. Otherwise, Georgia would be the most-earning filthy rich singer ever :)

  • LOL they made Mariah like a wannabe..lol

  • What song is including the G#8???

  • how on earth?!!

  • sounds sharp lol

  • OH MY. THOSE BIRDS WILL HAVE A RALLY. MAN HAS TAKEN OVER THEIR MASTERED CRAFT. THEY NEEED TO PATENT IT.

  • i am OBSESSED with high notes iv watched this vid like 800 times hahahaha i can sing notes like this not THIS high but like 3 notes lower haha

  • my glass of apple juice broke :(

  • Haha I know have a headache. But seriously, wow, this is amazing.

  • Who`s mariah???

  • i'm pretty sure that's whistle tone....

  • i love mado robin

  • mariah Carey range is fakeee pop singers use playback try see Britney Spears the Best is YMA Sumac that is a real voice

  • @cerberuuss LMAO REALLY SMH MARIAH RANGE IS REAL>

  • @deon424702 You kidding??

  • @SuperSharpboy lol hell no mariah carey has a crazy range.

  • @cerberuuss im very sorry i see ur opioion but i must say mariahs range is 100% real but i can see how u feel of britney i like her but her voice is not the best but mariah is a great singer but thats my own opionion so thanks for listening

  • @PRsweetness lol is great all know great body or beuty ( mariah ) but the high notes is more better in yma sumac mariah isnt soprano =S

i try to said u compare yma sumac with mariah is a epic fail yma is more high

  • hahaha good video

  • My mind is blown....not to mention my eardrums!!!

  • Indeed you have to listen to Yma Sumac....

  • what song of georgia brown??

  • Yma Sumac is a really odd name xD

But, such a wonderful compilation. I really envy them, which I shouldn't because I'm a boy. But I can't help it, they sound so lovely!

  • Mariah's is the nicest to listen to

  • hahahhaaha, love the bird pictures, LOL

  • Ab6,Bb6,Bb6,B6,F#6,G#7(not G#8),B7 are the correct pitches.

  • Mariah,Georgia and Christina?Do they have pitch, swiftness of trill? Can they sing the tune in head voice or is it just whistle note ,without register, lairising? Can they sing with precision a florrid legato, do they have the ability to bring tears to your eyes and seconds later want to jump up and down on the spot with joy.The sweetness and light of Sumi jo, the breadth of expression of the modern ladies, Netrebko, Damrau and Georghiu, the fun of Patricia Petibon..who cares about kettle noises?

  • @HaberfieldChiro no one like Yma sumac

  • @MrDarknesslover I LOVE YMA SUMAC!

  • @HaberfieldChiro For you they may not , it's your opinion , hehehe

  • @c3poooc :yeah you have a point!Maybe I am just getting older.Growing up in the 60s, I never would have imagined a liking for sopranos and opera, it was all Grace Slick and Candi Givens(which begs the Question-who the fuck is Candi Givens? She was in a colorado group called Zephyr check her out -she is a screecher of a singer) all the best jk

  • @HaberfieldChiro Yeap , as I said , it's only your opinion .. I was born in 90s and I have an opinion , when I say people what I think about the things , I always put a IN MY OPINION in the end of the phrase , you should do this too ..

  • Mariah sounds like a banshee!

  • LOLLLLLLL

  • is there a video on youtube of her going higher than the G#8

  • Nice!

  • Even though GEORGIA BROWN have a highest note by her whistle...she is not a good singer like mariah and christina...and she can not be better than regine velasques of philippines....

  • Georgia Brown ..I don't like her singing, her music, whatever, but..in this case, she is the world record. She has got a point that only BATS can hear her. Our ears are not able to hear such high frequency. She's in guiness.

  • Georgia Brown only squeels out high pitched sounds, her singing ability is atrocious.

  • but could you show me where is g#8?

  • @szyskus g#8 is from the minute 1:21 to 1:23 :P

  • omg...

  • omfg!!!! awesome...!

  • Yma Sumac!!!!!!!!!!!! i love her!! =)

specially when she sings "condor pasa"

    =DDDDD

  • Good grief! One note higher and it will reawaken the Wolf of Assisi!

  • modo didnt do any whistle register..but its a whistle note..any note higher that D#6 is a whistle note but not always a whistle register...

man can whistle like adam lopez..

you can get it trough practice..i am a man

my range is F3-Bb6..i can belt up to C#5

up to D#6 in falsetto...Eb6-Bb6 whistle...

  • its a little understandable that Carey is mentionned here...but why that pharse of a singer Aguillera?

  • I love Yma and Diana Damru...thank you for recognizing Diana.

  • I dont know how to whistle?

    Can only women do it?

I know my regular range is somewehere like.. a A3 - G5 Head and then i can fasetto/scream to C6.

    But whistling?

    never heard of it.

  • I don't know how either, but it's possible for males as well as females. It's rarer for a male singer to be able to achieve a pleasant tone in whistle register. Male whistle singers include Von Smith, Nicola Sedda, Adam Lopez, and a boy soprano called Afanasy - listen to the end of this /watch?v=5XXtBc7v_3c

  • whistle is the note higher than your falsetto..all of us i think can whistle, but of course, through constant practice..i can do whistle but its really hard..T_T

  • that´s impressive! amazing!!!

  • You have to listen to Yma sumac...

  • You can totally hear the difference between Mado's voice and the far more common whistle register. I can only whistle to A6.

  • yes...Mado Robin voice is not a whistle voice...She use Stratospheric Coloratura Soprano is the highest note of all the soprano type..she's the legend of all legends..she's the Queen of Stratospheric Coloratura Soprano..Guinness Book World Record..Title Holder...Notable extreme..said to have sung highest note ever heard...thanks...

  • Whats with the birds, dolphins, etc... How do they relate? and the first one almost scared me LOL

  • my vocal range is a G#2 - F7

I can hit A F#7 but thats when my whistles convert into screams.

but i can make my whistle like Mariah's (All whispery like)

    Or strong like Betty wrights.

  • that's a g#7 NOT A g#8 !!!

  • These are all whistles. There is no way to full voice a note this high, it is physically impossible.

  • that's true

  • O M G! My jaw is not moving at all!

  • es bastante vulgar, no es por nada. Impresiona, pero es vulgar a más no poder. ¡¡Que horror!!

  • please check for Yma Sumac, the best singer ...a clear 5/8

  • i love her! she's the best singer ever!

  • how is she going to be the best singer ever??come on..!!

  • Who?

  • Georgia Brown canta horrible

  • No, she doesn't. She is perfectly in tune and her voice is good. Yes, her whistle is imprecise and uncomfortable, but I'd like to see someone sing those notes most precisely then her... wait. No one can even nail it.

  • I hit it

  • Yes, that's why your name is on Guinness. Wait. Georgia Brown is still the highest voice ever...

  • you have to listen to Giuni Russo..... an italian singer....... in " l'addio".

  • @finwenluin de verdad

  • @finwenluin but she got 2 record, the biggest vocal range and the highest note (humans can't listen)

  • @finwenluin Georgia brown has great upper register but over all bel canto no..

  • my ocal range only goes up to E7, but i can only hit only when my voice is in good condition.

  • Mado Robin had a very high soprano voice, but as a coloratura singer was lousy.

  • IMO Yma and Mariah are the most amazing because they're low voices hitting high notes plus they have made the best use of it.

    2nd come opera singers.

Then Georgia whose whistles are out of this world but all the rest horrible.

At the very end I put Regine who can hit some high notes but sounds terribly unpleasant on everything else. Besides she's a kareokist - not an artist.

  • Christina Aguillera you got to be kidding lol

She doesn´t have a whistle register.

  • in this video georgia's note is G#7 not G#8

  • she started with a g7 but went higher upon to a g#8

  • absolutely not...the note starts with G#7 and goes down until B6...there's not G#8

  • thats because it is to weak ot listen to it and hear it good by the way my flute register go to f#7 that notes were al above my flute range

  • in fact a G#7 is a note above F#7..moreover she goes down to B6 and your flute can surely do that note =) mybe it just seems to be lower but it isn't

  • im sorry i maked a mistake it was a g#7 just

  • You are saying dat Mado Robin is not using whistle notes rite..Thats definitely wrong..she is usinf head register..I noe the difference between head reg. and falsetto..But though you say its head voice..It is considered as whistle notes because it reahes whistle register by head voice..though head voice is better to use..The only difference is whistles from falsetto are in low volume..But its whistle..

  • no full voice!

  • ITS NOT FULL VOICE..ITS HEAD VOICE..

  • no even if you search it on wiki falsetos are other terms for headvoice..and a super head voice..is a whistle..which mado robin does...PLs just think..If she ded hit that note in full voice..Y is she not in guinnes,,,Try to search also head voice on wiki..so you can see it by urself

  • "Try to search also head voice on wiki..so you can see it by urself "

Wikipedia isn't a reliable source. There are a lot of mistakes.

Mado uses head voice, by the way.

Whistle register is completely different and it's not as powerful as head voice. This is the truth.

  • no..u dun understand..eventhough you use full voice that is even impossible for a human to do..a note higher than eb6 is a whistle..try to listen to fly like a bird song of mariah...there a part that she started in a falksetto going to whistle register...its a style of opera singing because some opera singers dun belt...like mado robin..

its a whistle because you cant reach that high note in full voice..she just started in falsetto dats y u said its not,,

  • yes it IS in whistle but Mariah uses her falsetto, while opera singers use head voice

  • You dont get the point,,,Head oices are falsettos..there are only 3 registers in female human voice..The chest registe, the middle register, and the head register,..head registers are composed of falsetto register, and whistle register If you go higher,,,If you are saying she uses her head voice...You are referring to her falsettos..

  • wtf! ur totally wrong....females DO have falsetto which is a weaker version of the head voice...I know that bcoz I am a vocalist myself and my Opera teacher tells the girls all the time not to use their falsettos......you can also hear the difference between Mado's whistles and Mariah's whistles

  • The only difference betwen the Head Voice and Falsettos..Its because Falsettos are Airy voice..thats why it is called false voice..and head voice are clean to hear...but the notes she hits and compared to other singers who use whistling are the same..its in super head voice..the WHISTLE

  • so??? just bcoz it's in the whistle register doesn't mean it's falsetto.....it can be head voice.....check out Vitas Brenner first, then come and tell me what you think of his SOLID whistle notes

  • And notes higher than perfect falsettos(Eb6) are called whistles..which mado robin and other singers does..If you are saying she hit that note in full head voice..You are trying to say that she is hitting falsetto to whistle notes ( multiple notes) at the same time..That is humanly impossible..

  • ya its whistle and she is not the record holder its georgia brown

  • georgia brown uses whistle, Mado don't! there's a different.

  • tomar no cu ._.

  • mado robin sung that in full voice.

  • "mado robin sung that in full voice"

It's head voice actually. It's impossible to sing a B6 in full voice (belting or chest voice).

  • it was full voice listen carefully.

  • Nope, it's not.

Full voice = chest voice (for women) & head voice (for men). No one can sing a B6 in pure chest voice.

    It's head voice.

  • _wOw sO amazing like a bird_

  • .woow. there's no whistle..unique!

  • mado robin's note is not chest voice.. its obvious that she used head/falsetto or whistle..

  • Head voice!

  • Mado Robin Hit a B7 and a D7 Live ! the fact is that it was not recorded for her recognition.

    why?

because they think she can do it several times!

  • Christina could hit a G#7? I knew Riperton and Carey were capable of this, but that's just amazing!

  • Christina has NEVER hit a G#7. The highest she has gone (in studio) is C#7, and the higehst live is a painful A6.

  • Sorry, but the description above was a little misleading. I thought it stated so. Hence me asking if she could hit it.

  • Georgia Brown highest recorded note is a G#7...if you compare the note to mariah's brief G#7 it is on the same frequency just that Georgia is able to sustain hers...now the live notes are another story i think her highest recent whistle was a C8 and if u listen to the live C8 it is higher than the G#8 listed on this video
