  • Are these any good? And can you crash on the ride?

  • are these pro cymbals? cuz they cost as much as pro cymbals?

  • @ajcf1995 they are pro cymbals haha.. and they don't even cost that much.

  • That china is terrible.

  • It is not because of the material, iit is because of the (lacking) playing technique. If you don't know how to hit a cymbal correctly, you will crack hundreds of them.

My oldest cymbals is a used one from the mid-60ies and it sounds great. I hope i will last 40 more years :-)

Even a extra paperthin cymbal can last hundert years ore more if used and played the right way.

99% of the cracks are the players fault.

  • How versatile are these?

  • reminds me of the xs20's.

  • This looks like it was shotin the 90s. Cymbals are great though

  • i like meinl!!

  • i hate the look of these

  • I need to know where to get this complete cymbal set from.

  • i need a 18 crash/ride ive got enough for a mb8 or should i save for mb10 are they really that different?

  • @398654981 The 18" medium MB10 could be a nice ride if you ask me, but not if you are a hard-hitter.

  • Excuse me, but the crash above the tom, sounds like a big splash.

  • @JoepKooltje thats what crashes are pretty much..... big splashes

  • Paiste RUDES

  • ich finds total genial!

sowohl die becken als auch den Drummer!

  • I know this is just a demo for symbols... but that fucking sucked!

  • @Spasm13 are you fucking high, or are you just mental? That's as good as demos get.

  • @Spasm13 to be honest, your spelling fucking sucked as well.

  • ive broken two cymbals in five years of playing a b8 crash and i just found a crack in my 20 inch meinl byzance ride...im not a hard hitter but i think maybe i got a defective one or something cause ive never broken a good cymbal....does anyone know meinls warranty cover age cause i cant find info on it anywhere

  • @paulard666 2 years I think. I found a lathing crack in my Byzance china, sent it back to the Germany factory and had a brand new one for free that sounded even better in just 3 weeks. Awesome customer service!

  • The Mb8s sound great.

  • ive got a aax 18" stage crash what mb8 would go with that ppl?? i play mostly hard core stuff cheers

  • I want these cymbals so bad but how much are they?

  • @SuperTastyfish mb8's are actually pretty cheap, a 16" crash is $164

  • does anyone one know differences between heavy and medium hihats? Im guessing mediums would be more washy?

  • the hi hat is a nice one

  • SOLIDDDDDD

  • i m a hard - hitter and i want to buy these cymbals .. i play for 2 months do you believe that i ll break them soon?

  • No, but they're expensive cymbals.

  • @bboyxray92 uum i dont think so you must have a terrible technique to break them in 2 months but if you have the right technque maybe you'll break them but i'd give it from 6 to 8 months or at least thats what my sabian crashes lasted but im changing to meinl so i cant really tell

  • @danieljordison0793 yea dude i don't think you know much about technique either...it took over the course of a year in a half to put a crack in my cymbals and i play sabians as well...

  • @tony13fg yeah maybe im still getting my oriental china has been with me for a year and still looks good but ive only been drumming for 2 and a half years but im also a heavy hitter and i think that can be one of the reasons my crashes lasted only 8 months besides bad technique

  • I love the bass drum on this kit and the high tom

  • @RetoRoesti

If you break cymbals easily you should not play drums.

    Work on you playing technique.

In 20 years of playing I have broken ONE crash and this was in the beginning.

  • it depends on his style

  • @Hannibu I broke a 45 dollar china but that's cause it was a 45 dollar china.lol

  • well if you play softly you can have a cymbal for much longer, but keep in mind for example that death metal requires a much louder playing style.

And it also depends on the cymbal. I had a Paiste (don't know which exactly) crash that was pretty thick... I broke it twice in one year and then exchanged it for a Meinl...

On the other hand my hihat is still the very first I ever got (Ralf Gustke signature Anatolian). Must have been like 6 or 7 years now

  • i play most metal, and my cymbals never broken

except one in the beginning, but now i think that i have the right technique, and ! im a heavy hitter and use Ahead sticks, so i know what im saying

sorry for my bad englich, im a german :D

  • I play metal such as Lamb of God and Metallica and have NEVER broke or cracked a cymbal in the 4yrs ive been playing (although ive broke several skins and hundreds of sticks) Ive changed to ahead and go through the plastic covers very fast before metal is exposed :( And as with StowyCity , with aheads and metal combind and being a heavy hitter when u have the right technique its easy to avoid breaking cymbals :D ... or maybe im just lucky ;)

  • @Hannibu i totally agree. i have been playing drums for about 5 years and have not broken a single one, though i have come close- when i started playing drums i tried crashing heavy metal style all on a splash

  • what kind of music do u play? Sometimes when ur playing heavy and fast music u cant help but play hard, especially live. I break a lot of cymbals, but thats probably because im six foot three and weigh 285 and I lift a lot of weights. But when i play live my adrenaline is flowing which means im gunna hit a lot harder than if i am just practicing

  • control that overtone on the snare

  • probs the best b8 cymbals on the market, they should be, they are the most expensive lol

  • Paiste 2002.

  • 2002 are b8?

  • Yep, Paiste 2002 are made from B8 Metal. As are Rudes and Alphas.

  • i did not know that in which case 2002 are better

  • chinas a bit washy, but other than that a great set of cymbals

  • i agree with Skutieos...its just people trying to sound like they know a little about drums.

this kit is one of the best kits i've heard.

    all heil TAMA :D lol

    CYMBALS SOUND GREAT!!

  • The snare sounds great. In all of these videos with him playing people are like "LOL SNARE SUCKZ OVERTONES" and it pisses me off. First of all, there's barely any overtones, and second, without overtones a snare would sound boring. A little dampening is ok, but if you just eliminate all overtones it will sound generic and boring!

  • Agreed. Your snare will sound stupid and boring if it's muffled all the way. I love his snare. It's the perfect balance.

  • I love the overtones on this snare

Whoever said they suck are retards

  • felix...du wahnsinns-kerl

  • that high pitch overtone on the snare is killing me haha

  • Yeah

  • @drummerathlete7 some people like it

  • @drummerathlete7 what are you talking about... the snare sounds amazing

  • @jondrumming only explanation is listening on crap speakers

  • @jondrumming yes it douse but you must not be hearing the overtone

  • @drummerathlete7 No kidding. God forbid that actually get put into a recording.

  • @drummerathlete7 untrained ears.

  • too plain too rock and roll

  • Mcs is better because Hcs is out of messing

  • meinl mcs i think, they sound really good

  • meinl mcs of hcs? wich one is better

  • Mcs.

  • nice, burt the china sucks

  • do the hcs and mcs cymbals

  • its better if they don't, cause the HCS cymbals suck, i know cause i own em

  • dose anyone recomend this or mb10 for a metal and rock player? i want to upgrade my cymbals

  • i would say that the mb8s are the cheapest and best sounding in the meinl range

  • mb8 crashes have more proyection, the mb10 in metal are poor

  • i heard the mb10 ride (20") in a music store in ireland, its sounds good for metal and rock the bell espesially

  • i'm thinking of buying MB 8 19" medium crash

  • I have the 18", it's SWEET.

  • 0:11 lol someone is lurking in front of the drumset....

    They sound alright.

not a huge fan of the hats.

  • those would be the shit for hard rock and metal. awsome. if i still played heavy i would get those. they do not sound "cheap".

  • Hannibu:well, thats true, also alex van halen use b8 cymbals

  • The MB8 Series from meinl are real metal cymbals and they sound awesome

  • i was thinkin about gettin some soundcaster customs, does any body know what they sound like or know any thing about them?

  • I have a soundcaster custom power crash 19" I LOVE it it's very glassy and explosive

  • they break easy

  • That's nonsense.

If you break them easily, you should improve your playing technique.

Most of the cymbals are ruined by bad technique.

Of course they are percussion instruments, but that does not mean you can smash on them like an anvil

  • wansnt talking bout mb8's . lol i was talking about brass cymbals, altho i havent broken a cymbal ever ,

  • pretty decent cymbals. But if ur not willing to go high end meinls atleast get mb10 they sound as great as they look

  • funky

  • The cymbals sound so smooth and are not like some other ones i've heard that are just loud and do not sound right for the song.

  • great sound!! Didn´t like the 18 crash, but the rest is very very good.

  • I'd love to own these cymbals but they'd cost an arm and a leg xD

  • they are not very expensive or where you being sarcastic?

    moose

  • They're expensive, without sarcasm

  • in the uk they are not expensive from a drum shop near me.but don't know what the prices are in different countries.

    moose

  • ive seen them for around £500 for high hats, crash and ride, thats expensive

  • they go like 625 - 650 USD in the internet

  • Comment removed

  • wow those sound great

  • amazingg

  • GO MEINL! Meinl is <33 :)

  • oh yeah !!

  • this beats sabians B8 series...GO MEINL!!

  • well you should more compare them with the sabian apx, beacuase b8 are beginner cymbals

  • Yeah, B8 cymbals are absolute shit. I think I'm going to invest in a Vault set and maybe an extra china, probably 18". Either that or some Mb20's.

  • no i mean the cymbal series sabian b8, they are beginner cymbals

sabian apx are also b8 material cymbals, but better because of the way they are produced!

sabian vault or meinl mb20s? two very different cymbal series!!

you seem to know nothing about them

mb20 are quite thick cymbals and vor heavy music

    vaults are very thin cymbals!

    two compeletely different sounds

  • personally id go with the vaults

  • I know many people, including myself, that have broken Sabian's a big to quickly. Meinl has been the only brand of cymbals I haven't cracked/completely fucked up in the first three months.

    To each his own!

  • That is nonsense.

The Paiste 2002 are also made of B8 bronze.

No one would say, that they are beginner cymbals. Go and ask drummers like Phil Rudd (AC/DC), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Mickey Dee (Motorhead) to name a view of hundreds who use B8 cymbals.

There are B8 beginners cymbals that sound crappy. But they are B20 cymbals that also sound like shit.

  • Just my 2 cents to this:

    Shit in Shit out!

  • @Hannibu but the thing is Paiste sucks

  • @Hammy0924 you haven't been drumming long enough..you're ignorance is showing bro...you have a lot to learn.

  • @tony13fg I have 4 friends that are way better than me at drumming and they hate Paiste too. And I'm not just going with what they say, because I had them at one point and they sucked, and they weren't the inexpensive ones.

  • @Hannibu I wouldn't compare Phil Rudd to those drummers, because he kinda sucks...really bad (nothing against ACDC though)

  • @Hammy0924

You have really no idea of drumming. The grooves Phil Rudd plays may look easy, on the first sight. But playing them exactly that they fit to the music is the art.

Playing Blues may also appear simple. But playing it musically is very difficult.

The comment "Paiste sucks" indicates that you suck. You don't know nothing at all.

There are Paiste cymbals that are really exellent (2002, Giant Beat, Signature) and others that sound like a garbage can lid e. g. 101, PST3.

  • @Hannibu The whole "paiste sucks" thing is long gone. I actually like them well now. I'm just saying he sucks compared to the other artists that were mentioned

  • @Hannibu Mickey Dee uses all signatures, which are basically B16 cymbals. Paiste has admitted that no matter how much work you put into a cymbal, it'll never sound better than a cast B20 cymbal.

  • @Hannibu what is the difference between these and the mcs series????????

  • @ajcf1995

The MCS cymbals are not hammered. They are pressed in forms.

    The Mb8 are computerized hammered.

  • @Hannibu they why do beginner cymbals made of b8 CRACK SO MUCH??? does anybody know why they do?!!!

  • @ajcf1995 cause there's very little tin put in them its almost all copper and since copper if fairy weak .....they break the more tin a cymbal has with its copper the more musical stronger and expensive it will be plus the stronger ones are tempered and casted better their kinda like how the blade of a good sword is made

  • @ajcf1995 Beginner cymbals are also usually made thicker. For example, an mb8 medium cymbal is probably going to be thicker than a Byzance medium cymbal. The higher quality metals are also more flexible, meaning they are less likely to crack since they move around more and absorb shock for evenly. But what Hannibu said is right too, bad technique can make a huge difference.

  • lol no kiding...anything beats b8's ...not anything..but almost!
