It was actually a hydraulic failure according to my friends who fly Liberty Tours. He used up his one or two allowable movements after the failure and then went in complete failure. They said he should've kept his reserve movements to land and then he probably could have brought it down safely.

That was amazing footage. It's amazing how all three people in that chopper survived. I think it had something to do with how the pilot turned the chopper when it landed before it fell. If he hadn't, the outcome would've been much worse.
