No but one of the three main people behind the Black Mages is the same guy who helped compose the original (Nobuo). The Black Mages where constricted to Final Fantasy music because of their name. That's why the Black Mages disbanded and a couple of them joined a different group.
@ElusiveNight Black Mages did't do the original ones... They only make the themes more awesome! :D
