  • They should remake this for the 3DS.

    Imagine the mindfuckery. @_@

  • @superskeetospro That would be crazy. My brother has a 3DS. It just gives me a headache. I don't like it.

  • @Xeniczone That's fine. More power to ya'. I just disagree. Most of the time. Unless I'm sick. :B

  • @superskeetospro It is fine if I turn the 3D off. For the most part the 3DS is a very nice machine. Just like I said 3D doesn't work for me. I'll stick with my Sega Nomad thank you very much. :D

  • @Xeniczone Lol, love this! :D

  • Still working on this?

  • I find that the problem of death can be partially fixed by smaller sprites higher resolutions. When doing this, of course, you have to make sure you don't zoom too far away so that the characters, enemies, sprites etc. become difficult to see. Zooming out a bit more than what's shown in the Sonic X-Treme demos AND using a bit-more-than-slight fisheye might be the perfect balance.

Anyway, it's an interesting concept. Hope this is still actually worked on.

  • The only reason Fisheye confuses me is because you feel like you're going round in a circle, yet you're just walking along a straight path...

  • when you guys pretend to release the game or release a demo?

by the way, this looks incredible. it's amazing how you could reproduce the fisheye view from the original xtreme movies!

  • Is this still being worked on?

  • @10samm10 Sure is.

  • @Xeniczone Oh thank god. I got a little worried when the forums began to get quiet.

  • @Xeniczone You still working on this?

  • How did you get that game?!

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • also known as screen bending, nice.

im using a sort of the same example for sonic rush fever revival.

  • Wow this looks really great. Also an interesting pitch for the fisheye effect, i always assumed it was invented simply to look cool and more "3D-ey" for that was all the rage back then.

Could you explain the effect on a more technical level? My assumtion always was that it was some kind of post-processing cheap perspective trickery (to get a cool effect while saving precious saturn processing power) — but now i am unsure if it actually warps the polygons in on themselfes. Well, i have no clue.

  • This is EXACTLY why I subbed you.

    I'm signing up right now...

  • neat video. hope this project doesn't get canned like most of them do.

  • @emcitement

Don't think we are going to toss away the game anytime soon,

In fact you can expect to see a closed demo around Christmas 2010.

Make sure to sign up on our website to be eligible for a play threw.

  • @tuxmask75 sounds awesome.

  • @emcitement

Ya, this project takes up so much time its hard to spare it to post anything new on the forums.
