  • 0:53 the centripical force? Am i wrong or are Americans very dumb? Surely he means centrifugal?

  • way better than a nuclear power plant accident.

    build some more.

  • (1) Why didn't this wind turbine have a brake installed, in order to prevent the blades from turning in dangerously high winds?

    (2) Why were the blades made from fiberglass (which disintegrated)?

  • wind turbines should be banned! they are dangerous.

  • and that happende in denmark

  • These things are dangerous.

  • Chuck Norris was breathing in front of the Wind Turbine.

  • HOly Crap...

    :O

  • pour wind turbine!!!:(

  • I have worked around windmills for a while, and while they are huge and impressive, in the end they are just fiberglass and metal...

  • @MrMzachary YOUTUBE: helix wind self-destruct

  • @curatrix2008 I saw that video and all it did was fall down

  • @Garhunt05 hahahahahah HELIX MAN - that wind mill was on a school campus

  • Dezen is niet te redden.

  • A dead windmill. Ohh, I can feel that I was hurt inside myself. I think I have to cry now, uuhuuhuuhhhuu. This was to much for me. I never expexted that I had to watch a windmill die. Altleast it will go to The Windmill Heaven now.

    Peace.

  • Fossile fuel is far better and gives us life giving carbon dioxide too! I'm NOT kidding!

  • What disaster?

No one was hurt. They picked up the pieces and will install a replacement. Big deal.

  • Less dangerous than Chernobyl, absolutely. Less dangerous than modern nuclear reactor designs? That's less clear. Both windmills and nuclear power plants are far safer and far less polluting than fossil fuel plants, though. It's a perhaps counter-intuitive fact that coal plants produce more radioactive waste than nuclear plants do, because much coal has traces of radioactive elements.

The difference is that coal plants blow theirs into the sky.

  • Interesting failure mode. Makes for neat video. I bet its still less dangerous than Chernobyl or a major primary coolant leak, or a boiler explosion or an accidental coal pile or fuel fire. It's not like those don't happen in the progress of energy production.

Also this points out the reason why these things are in rural or remote locations. It might make a mess of a field, but as long as there's nobody in the way - not much loss other than economic. The wind turbine can and will be replaced.

  • Reality of the green lie.
