It's really too bad indigenous people all over the world had to disguise fighting skills inside a style of dance, just so their white oppressors wouldn't "think" they were continuing to teach themselves and others to fight. At least, that's one legend-story I'd heard long ago of how capoeira originated. Correct/incorrect?

The African slaves in Brazil had to camouflage their martial art in a dance so that the guards wouldn't notice what they were doing. A lot of people (especialy here on youtube) thinks that capoeira is a bad martial art because it looks so harmless, while making it seem harmless is actualy one of the things that make it so deadly.
