@HomasterX Yea sure MMA makes you a well round fighter, but there is a disadvantage to it. MMA only learn certain parts of the true martial arts, they dont spend their time getting to know the whole art. Its better just to learn different arts, so you understand them individually, then use it to your advantage.
Hapkido is awesome to watch. This stuff is what the North Korean special forces train with. the philosophy behind Hapkido is to use the opponents strengths against him. Its not about locks and wrestling. This is what makes Hapkido way more fun to watch than BJJ style in my opinion.
Jimmy is terrible with his kicks.. Then again he's a white belt that beat a black belt. I'm sure this is all rigged. No way in hell a Trained Korean black belt would lose to these noobs.
@Davidzlocker2 thank you because I take combat hapkido which is more of a circular moving system and it's focused more on modern day self-defenses and there's no high or fancy kicking in my school
@JcZorro3000 I take Jin Jang Kwan Hapkido. It is what they teach to the Korean swat team. The biggest difference between Jin Jand Kwan and more traditional types of Hapkido is that it has been slightly modified for real combat situations. The movements are slightly more linear. Where as traditional hapkido is slightly more circular in the movements. The principles are the same, but it's a little less flashy, and a little more practical.
Hapkido, Taekwondo (ITF or GTF), some Karate styles, traditional Muya thai, shaolin kung fu, wing chun kung fu, Ninjutsu. I think this is top Matrial Arts.
@phoenix02200 I know what you are saying but, the truth is the general public have never seen anyone use Hapkido in a street fight or any kind of real match. Most Americans only know of Hapkido because of Steven Segal's movies.
All that I am saying is invite some big mouth to your dojo, video it and show us the results.
@enforcer5369 yeah. what they clearly don't understand is that these black belts are just playing. who would really think they'd send a guy who has trained for a few days against a dan holder and actually have a chance ^^ white belts at our dojang spar harder than these guys 'fight' in this video. ^^ + that one guy is a black belt + a professional boxer, who really thinks a pro boxer would just dance around like that if he was serious? : D
Ihave so much respect for those white boys going against all those masters. they must have extreme confidence and courage because i would shit my pants. and get knocked out. not necessarily in that order
@soupisgoodful This is youtube. All you have to do is take your video camera to a basket ball park and challenge someone. Today is Sunday, you could have video made and uploaded by the end of the day.
@Nightlyfighter Why? Hapkido is not anymore useful than Akido or Taekwondo or Karate in a street fight, unless you are fighting a girl or a drunk. Not to be a dick, but a decent street fighter would pound a Dan into the ground.
@MPA2000 because, while being ignorant of the beauty ofmartial arts, they are very capable of smashing somebody senseless with, lets say, a wooden chair?
@MPA2000 Dude, that's a bit hard to bet on. A street fighter isn't as smart agains't a person who actually is being taught to fight. Im not saying street fighting is bad, but if I were a really good street fighter and I went on against a Hapkido master I would really reconsider. Anyone who is a master I could reconsider, a street fighter might pound you to the ground but martial arts masters will leave you infront of your house in a box
@Nightlyfighter thats quite a bold claim, I agree that hapkido is a really good striking art with some really sweet throws but at the end of the day it is a still a striking style, everyone should learn more than 1 martial art, I recommend mixed martial arts, to become effective in all aspects such as striking, clinch, and ground.
I like watching this show, but it really bugs me how the american guys will talk while the fight is going on. seems a little disrespectful (notice how most times, the other fighters are silent) and they tend to do that often. still a cool show.

Cool fight and interesting martial art. However I wish this guy would just shut up. He kind of annoys me. I'd like to try Hapkido though.

@Nightlyfighter well in a bjj fight. a hapkido will rush a grappler. grapplers can avoid submissions easily and armbars are jokes.
