  • I almost cried when I saw the video, because it is so sorry for the horses. The humans expect too much of them!

  • @MissZoeyV No we don't. Horses can, have and could easily kill us.

  • im very sorry about your horse :'( rest in peace, thankyou for showing us how dangerous horse riding is and what your getting yourself into........ i see all these horse jumping fall videos and i said to myself at a comp. that i was going to fall off whilist jumping and guess what..................................i did dont ever say your going to fall off or injure yourself because it will actually happen again im very sorry bout your horse :( merry christmas and a happy new year <3

  • Thank you for showing what can happen and how dangerous it is, most of all let us not forget how it felled Superman Christopher Reeve may he rest in peace.

  • I'm sorry about your horses i love horses and i hate having to here about them having to be put down

  • The description at the start is so true, people just think riding is so easy and they will be like pros!

  • i understand now, this is why they put helmet...

  • @kibutsu32123 Awesome!

  • OUCH !!! 2:26 looks sore !!:/

  • Hey, on clip 7, was that the fall where Meredith broke both her wrists?

  • Some of these riders are really good at staying on...

  • whats happend at the clip by 2:50? Who is the original rider of this video?

  • i love how the horses run away and the riders just lie there.

  • @borderxt20 have you ever come off a horse? the rider just sits there because it really hurts, and they're trying to figure out what happened, and trying to breathe... they're not doing the best dismounts ever, and those kind REALLY hurt.

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THE CLIP AT 1:02???

I have been looking for it FOREVER.

  • even more in love with me YOU'D FALL. ;P

  • It's never the horse's fault. :)

    2:17 - 2:25 - HAHA! That's a nice recovery!

  • watch?v=R02tbrZSO3I

  • i dont miss this part of show jumping. We had a saying 100 falls will make you a good rider, 1000 will make you great

  • Some parts are really dangerous falls. Here in my place, there are not a lot people who think it's easy.. But here are a lot people with horses so if they don't like it, it's because they are afraid. But in this vid you can see a lot of dangerous falls for riders but also for the horses. Some people, like my brother, have to laugh about this vids but I don't think they realize there are people ánd horses died to this.

  • Every time I watch this I wonder what is running through the riders' heads. If it's anything like my many falls its "Not again!" Awesome video

  • what happen at the one where the chestnut one fell backwards

  • Umm... i dont agree that Show Jumping or any horse jumping is dangerous, only because its either the horses training isnt at that point and the person forces thhe horse to jump at that rank/level and its either the riders fault for the balance he/she carries. so it isnt dangerous if you and your horse know what ur doing.

  • @sandraann1000 your kidding, right? horseriding is the #1 MOST DANGEROUS sport in the world. if you think its not, your dead wrong and don't know anything about the sport, you risk your life just getting on a horse, i don't care if its the sweetest horse in the world, ANYTHING could go wrong, let alone just 4 ft. jumps.

  • im now 10 and i have been through alot of falls but ya need to trust ur horse thats ur main key to riding

  • hello horse riding is easy i thought it was hard but its not i have bee riding since i was 3 and all u need to do is to gain trust in your horse when u fall u should always get back on and end on a good note

  • @ilovetuckz your kidding, horse riding, by NO MEANS, is EVER easy!!

  • nicee video but they should also kno even if u do fall u cannot redo the course or start where u left off u are automatically disqualified

  • Thank you!!! Everyone in school is now making fun of me because I said "Show jumping IS a sport, and it's may harder and way more dangerous than soccer thank you ery much" and now they all tease me about it. >.< I'e hurt myself quite a few time SJing before, get back on and try it again. ^-^ Or at least, that's what I do.

  • Nice video, excruciating song.

  • 2:28 same thing happened to me except the person in the clipp was lucky enough to have to have the horse NOT land on them :) great video

  • witch music is that? :D

  • Hey! just wondered which horse was injured! love your vido tho! as im a showjumper i now can see where im going rong thanks! xx

  • This is the horse riding...

  • @ stupidblonde428, I'm reeeeeeeeally not being a bitch, but... you said "brokend". It's "broken".

  • @thewonderhunter1 Lol yea

  • @stupidblond428a

Just thought I'd point that out...

    But i love your video!

    xD

  • @stupidblond428a guess you are a stupidblonde!!

  • Comment removed

  • @oldbuspasses Lol that's so funny. Probably the funniest joke I've ever heard, I've never heard that one before!

  • @stupidblond428a It's not a joke.

  • @oldbuspasses Lol

  • i fell like one of thes ones i had to de hospitialized for 2 days

  • real it's animalhate!!!

she thinks alone on the people!!!.

    never on the animal!!!!

  • I don't do jumping, but even flat classes require strength. You have to make sure you look perfect and your horse does too. Jumping is way harder though and you have to be really brave. But when you ride you don't just sit there and look like an idiot, you have to sit up and look nice. People say they have ridden and it's easy, because, all they did was sit on a very well trained horse and walk around in a circle.

  • @z74leatherface Agreed.

  • the clip where the chestnut fell over, onto it's back, made me actually gasp. lol

  • well amazing video :) i had a really bad fall about a year ago and when i went to the hospital because of it they had me to stop riding for a while :( but i was heartbroken so mum has took me bak into the hospital to ask if i could ride again and luckly i could but if i didnt i dont think i would live anymore. im sorry for everyone who has had a really bad fall and has had to stop riding or if their horse has died from a fall :(

  • u know what ev u can keep it on

  • can u take out one for me its mine 7th one olz

  • @samanthaloveshorses1 Do you have proof?

  • @stupidblond428a what a asshole. she shouldnt need proof bitch

  • @MrStabby5395 An ass hole* And considering her Youtube name is "samanthaloveshorses1", I HIGHLY doubt she is the very succesful grand prix rider Tina Lund. I'm really sick of people claiming to be other people, if someone honestly wanted their clip out of my video, they would MESSAGE me professionally and ask me to remove it. Get a life and stop looking through comments that are over a year old, dumb ass.

  • @stupidblond428a asshole is one word, and no the comments that are addressed to you are on top. maybe samanthaloveshorses1 isnt tina lund, but it coould still be her video.

  • @PsychoPoniesPa It isn't her video..it's from a TV show of Syracuse...

  • @samanthaloveshorses1 You do realize that is Meredith Michaels Beerbaum? Definitely NOT you xD

  • i just feel so bad for the horses. i hate the people who punish the horses badly when they refuse because of fear, or the horse or rider falls.

  • Their shere size makes working with horses dangerous. The will seldom intentionally try to hurt you. I've been in a few accidents and sometimes the horse was visibly worried about me when they saw me on the ground. The first horse I ever fell off of was a kindly old mare and she would'nt leave my side until I got up and walked her out.

  • ive fallen twice, but i dont do show jumping, i just fell off the horse

    its not always THAT bad...

    but it can be...

i hope one day ill be jumping like that too, excluding the falling part XD

    :)

  • Hey i have a Presentation Next Week about show jumping, i could use your Video it's beautifully done and will make them aware of the dangers of the sport as am a rider too :), i need a link to download the video if possible ?

  • @Q8Dragon Yea you can use it. If you need to the link, just copy it from the address bar..

  • Great to see these pricks getting dumped

  • That is some scarrrrry stuff... i just started jumping and had to learn the hard way that it wasnt that easy. Falls and every thing. i am going to get a new horse to enter shows for jumping, becuz my old jumping horse is way to old... i have a vid of her on here just go to my account and you can see it if you want to:)

  • i love this video!!!congratulation..can i share it on facebook??

  • Haha yes you can. you don't have to ask:)

  • ..=) thank you!!

  • Ive fallen off like 8 times from training and i have been bucked off thrown into jumps, fences, etc and i was in pain but for anyone that rides as well try using a riding vest it has saved me so many times from being winded. try it

  • Falls are badges of honor for those that choose to jump, fall and get back on to try it again.

  • got to hurt the one at 1:18 that was kind of a wierd fall

  • Very good video on teaching the dangers of riding. Most of the horses I've ridden have been fat, lazy geldings. xP But this one horse ran away when I was holding the lead rope, resulting in a very badly burned hand. They have to understand that riding isn't just a sport to make you look rich or that sort of rediculous stuff. Horses are natural prey animals- if they get scared or think that they're in danger, they'll flee.

  • i jump 2'9 on my horse fancy

  • i ride such a hard pony named fancy... she freaks at everything... i jump her 2'6 and have fallen INTO jumps many times im okay but guys its hard my calves are legit rock hard so its not a baby sport

  • i love this! it changed sooo many peoples minds on thinking riding is easy thank you :]

  • great clips you used :)

  • My friend bet that he could ride a horse, obviosly he didn't know the difference between a pony ride and showjumping, cross country, dressage, etc. i showed him your video and it completely changed his mind about riding.

  • and people say you just sit there! those people are sooooo stupid! I'm a hunter/jumper so I know what it's like to have a bad fall.

  • ok , that is a really good video showing how riding is dangerous and hard, i do riding and were i ride there are mostly good ponys/horses but it is hard cause the are also the ones wtich rear, buck leap and refuse jumps so it is really hard, and that video shows it , anyone who dont belive its hard the f*** ok cause it is :D

  • 'It matters not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back on."

Also, you should hold onto the reins unless your horse starts running. But it can be dangerous in show jumping. The horse may try to continue jumping while your still holding on.

  • some of them falls were pretty hard. ouch

  • Once i had lost my balance (this is after a major refusal) and i came off and hit a stack of tyres HARD and knowcked myself out and i got on the next day and i was jumping the next week. You must get back on as soon as you can after a fall (if you are ok) otherwise you will never get on again or you will just be majorly scared the next time you do. Just a little advice from me because i have had my fair share of BAD falls in my 11 years of riding. I am 14 and i have been riding since i was 3.

  • i horse riding and i have my own horse and in the summer i am going to start show jumping this vid has got me worried

  • I fall all the time! I ride both wester & english, I so prefer to fall off of an english! My horse has a huge habit of rearing, you see why?

Even amazing riders take their falls, but they all get back on & keep going.

Riding is not an easy thing, why do you think so many people love it?!?

"Take is all in stride" -My Momma!

  • one time i was jumping a horse who hadn't jumped in 6 months for my friend. She got excited and took off way too early, i lost both my stirrups, and she hit the pole with her back legs, but it didn't come down. So after 4or 5 srides of her trying to regain her balance(while her nose is literally dragging on the ground),i decide to bail. right before i get up, te horse comes rolling right on top of me. AND after being on my legs and pelvis, she stands up, right on my stomach. TRUE STORY PPL!

  • OMG look at 1:16 Aj!!

  • omg the horses flip backwards they could brake their spine doing that !! my horse i have fallen off like 9 times but still dontthink im advanced im intermediate ecpesially on my horse i no his ways on jumping if its a cross he just has to gallop if its a straight he has to trot it!! u cant win

  • All of those people and horses must have been hurt REALLY badly

  • I've fallen several times and my worst fall was when the horse stepped on my leg and face. I was told to take a week or two off but that Monday I was riding (fall happend on a saturday). All I remember from the fall was a few circus tricks and horse shoes.those falls really looked bad but the horse that wanted to eat after he dumped his rider was funny.

  • I have only fallen off of the horse that I have once, and it was on the flat, not jumping. When you fall you have to tuck and roll, because he has the habit of kicking out at you once you are down. I used to think riding was easy, but it is a brutal sport. You need to learn to fall right, almost no one in any of the clips let go of the reins, you have to let go of the reins, or you could bring them down too, possibly on top of you.

  • yess, but most of the time while your falling, its like a black out you dont know whats going on, so they hold on.

  • I hate falling, and I'll do anything to avoid it, but once it is inevitable, I let go of the reins, and concentrate on preparing for impact. It only takes a few seconds, but I am very aware of every millisecond, it feels like an eternity. I tuck, I roll, and only once I know that I am safe from being trampled, do I lie and recover, if necessary. These are more advanced riders than me, by now they should also be pros at falling too. I've read articles by pros on it, so they know better too.

  • your all wrong i have read a book on riding a horse and what your suposed to do is hold the reins and not let go. you have to hold on to the riens so that the horse knows that you are there so that the horse dosnt step on you. and the horse is about 900 pounds and its strong enough to not come falling down at you. i have fallen off a horse at least 20 times and i got no seriouse injury. my trainor said that if i didnt let go of the reins the horse would have stomped on me.

  • I never hold onto the reins when I fall, and I have never been kicked or stomped on, because I tuck and roll away. That is the way I have been trained. You may not be able to pull a horse down with you, but you can cause them to lose their balance and come down on top of you. If I had to choose, I would rather get stepped on, than have my 1200 lb horse come down on top of me, possibly crippling/killing me and/or him.

  • Comment removed

  • Also if you don't let go of the reins, you could be dragged or dislocate a shoulder. The recommendations are a little different for trail riding, but we're talking show jumping falls here.

  • well would you hold onto the reins if after you fell the horse was at a canter/gallop?? no the BHS have approved it is a must to let go if you fall off a horse

  • You hold on to the reins so the horse doesn't run away and so that the horse doesn't trample over you, if it doesn't know that your there

  • @MsTwilightteamjacob

you let go so that you dont pull down ur horse/ ur horse can get up if they fall.... its more important to keep urhorse safe then to keepit close

  • i have almost 2 years of horse jumping i only fell off twice, the first time i din't hit the floor because the horse lost balance when he landed and i landed in his neck... he got a little injured but 1 day of rest was good for him =)

the 2nd one, was in a foggy day and since i was jumping in an outdoor field and it rained last day so the horse just slipped and i just went: weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PUF! xD

  • 1:06 LOL!sorry i know it's horrible but just the way he's flying out his seat.i'm not being nasty or antyhing just think it looks funny haha.:P i have the upmost respect for any horse riding good ability or not cause i'm farely shit but meh:)xxxx

  • she lost her balance over the first jump, hit herself on the 2nd one and was half unconse on the last one, thats why her position was bad and then she landed on the ground after falling of her horse in mid jump which was well high. She went to hospital (rushed) i think she lived though

  • i know what u mean showjumpin is very hard but bast sport n world!!

  • i hate people that say horse riding cant be that hard cus it is i know some1 who had a fall and had a hip replacement, broken ribs and a puntcured lung,,,survived and riding again :) sorry to ur friend whose horse got put down,,,i know what it is like

  • at 0:39 , 1:48 , 1:23 & was that ellen whitaker?

  • last time i fell off, i broked ma leg. completly ma fault. and ther was sumthing up with ma pony, she never got better. shes retired now, onli 9 yrs old 2. sniff :(

  • it is almost always the riders fault i ride horses to and i have had my share of falls and it has always been my fault horses are great and just asking what kind of injury did the horse have that got hurt.

  • The horses do nothing wrong! It's often the riders like do wrong!!!!!!!!!

We look at all the misstake all riders do sometimes but you don't have some fine times with the horse with in the film!! Just mistakes like the riders do!!!!!!!!!!! Jump with the horse is like fly! it's wonderful!

  • juhbxhyuvfduvcxbjvkduysh

  • poor max!!! i've fallen 2ceand you dont know if you love horse back riding unitll u fall

  • I have fallen many times. Every rider does, including professionals. It's a risk we all take as riders. We defy physics simply by asking our mounts to do the impossible but there are some things we can't stop, like gravity and such! Just because your horse stops doesn't mean you will!!! :)

  • hahaha he started eating grass 3:00

  • Omg!!! Tht is soo sad tht ur m8's horse had 2 b put down :( I have had quite alot of those falls (N) very painful, but some of my falls are quite funny (Y)

  • 1:33 O.O

  • 1.06 outch!

    1.18 lol

  • tell ur friend im sry bout her horsey :(

  • I've never really heard of a rider dying in Hunter Jumper contests, I've only seen riders die in Cross counrty

  • Horse Riding is NOT the most dangerous

sport in the world, Yes, riders will fall off, and the horse will refuse a jump, But the horse and rider will keep going.

  • actually they did a study will every single sport and horse back riding is the number one dangerous sport. One wrong move and you can kill yourself. These are thousand pound beasts and you have to know what your doing with them and even then shit can go wrong.Any equestrian would know that or would have seen it.

  • The study that your talking about is people put the votes in. SO really the info not correct as so many people ride horses than doing other sport. There more dangerous sports than horses like BASE Jumping, Free Diving and funny enough most sites have basketballs more dangerous than horse riding as there more injures coming out of that sport.

  • horse and rider dont always keep going. there have been a lot of riders killed. what do you think is the most dangerous sport then if jumping 4ft fences on a thousand pound completely unpredictable animal isnt it???

  • at 1:35 it looks like the rider just runs away from its horse :S

  • Ofcourse the rider wants to get away from the horse. The horse is kicking with the legs so you dont want to get kicked. And even if the horse is running away after getting up, it´s not coming very far.

  • Well for their own safety and a horse can get back up easier without the extra human weight there. :/

  • Love It!

  • i really hated reading that comment where the i assume girl said horses dont like to jump...i thoroughly disagree. horses are intellegent animals, and sometimes they just dont feel they can do something. if you've ever gone to jump a hurdle or w/e then you'll know that sometimes you just wont make it over safely...it's just a mental breakdown kinda thing. so grrr.

  • Totally! Most horses love to work and jump! That is what they were bred to do! To not work them would be a waste!

  • As with any athlete (humans or horses) dangers are present and precautions must be made, but with any sports involving both humans and horses, the rider must be prepared to limit their mistakes and the horse must be properly trained to avoid these accidents. However, no matter how well horse and rider are trained or how much experience they have, accidents can still happen to everyone, beginner or expert. The people involved in horse disciplines are well aware of this, I can assure you.

  • I totally agree wth everything you said.I've seen bad things happen to well trained horses and experienced riders. Many times.I've seen riders at shows get knocked out because their horse slipped on a muddy spot in the ring and landed on top of her.And trust me with my well balanced horse at the most freaking collected canter ever he still slipped. And there was no way around it..shit happens and we know it will.unless your just starting off and know nothing about horse back riding or horses

  • Has anyone else noticed just how carefull the horses are not to stand on their fallen riders? Yes horse riding has it's risks but it will never stop me! Horses Rule!

  • WHAT name of a new song ?

  • I've been in many arguments with my friends because they think that horseback riding is pretty easy. They say that the horse makes all the exercise and effort.

I love horseback riding!! Last time I fell I broke my collarbone, but it's ok. It was my fault anyway....hehehe

  • god, why does everyone have to have ago.

you can put what ever you want on here; and why do you keep havin' ago.

Its there choice if they wanna put this video on to remember there horses friend by (:

but ouch that gotta' hurt :L

  • This song makes me cry! :(

  • It seems like most of the accidents were rider caused, many of the riders got their center of gravity just that much too far forward and came off because of it.

  • That's a really good video.

I've gotten into arguements with my teacher (who runs marathons) over whether or not horseback riding should be considered a sport.

Like it's not easy, your horse isn't a robot.

I've had some pretty bad falls some including me being dragged and me being trampled.

  • @horsebackridingisme Horseback riding at speed(trotting, cantering, galloping) will get you out of breath. It works more muscles in the human body than running does. Tell your teacher that.

  • omg hahahaha 1.18

i bursted out laughing when i saw that

  • What is the name of the new song??

    Nice vid.

  • hey there delilah :)

  • I had a bad fall myself. The horse got spooked in the midle of a jump line. He galloped and I couldnt hold on. it was scary

  • i just had a fall on my fav horse harvey and i thought it was bad but now i feel really happy dat it wasnt

  • great vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

  • Its not ridiculous they its show jumping and happens all over the world !!

  • R.i.P Max.Good vid

  • i dont agree with this kind of riding i think it rediculous and its very dangerous and can hurt and kill horses

  • yeah well, western is stupid

horses can fall and hurt themselves running stupid barrels

  • yeah but they can get hurt doing anything, can't they?

it's not really more dangerous then other riding styles :S

  • well they are falling in this event hear.

  • i ride both, and horses are killed and hurt in both sports, i jump, i ride barrels, and i love both sports STOP WITH THE DISCIPLINE HATING!!! ok?

  • what do you mean by the discripline hating. i dont get that at all she is just leting people know that horse riding is dangerous and im 100% on her side so why dont you just zip it.

  • i wasnt commenting on the video itself, but the comments below me LOL sorry for the misunderstanding, and yes i do know how dangerous show jumping is, and agree 100 percent with the video itself, just not the comments of people hating on western/english riding

  • why do you think it could kill the horses?

incase you didnt know the rider doesnt tell the horse to jump

    The horse jumps intsself

so if it didnt wont to it wouldnt

  • oook and if they dont jump what do u do then u make them jump it dont u soo dont try and say that the horse enjoys it bcuz they probably dont

  • a lot of times its the rider's or horse's fault the jump was wrong. horses enjoy jumping

  • ooook yaa i dont do it but iv noticed alot of injuries due to jumping and its so dangerous like the smallest mistake can kill u and or the horse

  • haha, it takes a lot to for a horse to get hurt. but it just depends on the way u fall, and rarely is the horse or rider ever injured that bad. but injuries do happen, and i just fell off over jump and got hurt, but i got back on even tho my side hurt xD

  • my horse loves jumping, if i puhim in the school and there are jumps in ther, her gallops and jumps them. most of horses mistakes sit on the shoulders of the rider

  • i recently fell off my thoroughbred going over a jump, flew right over his sholder!!

  • :S some of them are real bad falls unfortunatly i have had worse but im a magnet for accidents, lukily ma dad didnt catch me on vid x

  • one time i was goin into a water jump in xc and it was a really big drop into the water and i fell onto my ponies head it was so hillarious but i managed to get back into the saddle:D horse riding rox xxx

  • oh thats horrible

  • quand vous tombez, LACHEZ VOS RENES !!

  • that was good but the song kinda threw me off!

  • woooooooooo i love horses i have 2 tbs nd ive been riding 4 10 yrs,i had 1 bad fall off my 3yr old hit a cliff and he took off up the road nearly killed him and me,was back riding my friends horse 2 weeks later as he cudnt b ridden(this happnd in march 09 nd is only jus bein sat on now)and i fell off my other on xc and on a hack where she spooked at a fish and chips bag in frnt of cars and i fell off in frnt of cars nd the only thing hurt was my pride!, i would never switch riding for anything!

  • 1:31 it's horribles

  • it's al horrible
