  • Personally, I like this better than legacy.

  • Nobody may notice, but when the actors are filmed, those backgrounds are actually hand-drawn, not computer made. Isn't that amazing?

  • nowadays this movie look very funny xD

  • Literationa at 2:53 ''If I Don't have a Yahoo than Google'' xD!

  • i came here to watch this because of tron legacy, i hope they make a tron 3 :)

  • @Smokeydabear415 SOOO TRUE

  • thy sould recreat this movie

  • Call me crazy but the special effects are more believable than the modern rendition. It's like Star Wars, the earlier films had a familiar quality to the special effects (they used make up instead of CGI) while the newer ones felt like I was watching a video game. Yoda just isn't the same. No need to hate my comment or respond, some of you like the new Tron better, and that's fine.

  • @lcausey007 We know how you feel bro. For me it's obvious when watching Alien compared to AVP :/

  • all the action he could see was a black screen with a few commands?

  • It's hard watching this after first seeing Tron: Legacy.

  • Megatron gateway floating downwards

  • It's mind blowing how this connects with Tron: Legacy....I'm getting mind fucked left and right, basically I'm getting mind raped lol

  • Lol. They should make the old Tron 1982 to a current version of it.

  • thatsnthe coolest helicopter ive seen in my life

  • the Tron joy stick was preparing girls on how please their man ;-)

  • i thought the real life helicopter was another program lol

  • soo fakee.. the 80's were awesomely fucked up..

  • @SerenadePumkin And that's exactly what the next generation will say about Tron:Legacy....except probably without the "awesomely".

  • I seen tron legacy..so I went here and check out the beginning of the story....

  • God thanks you, JeremyPark013, for uploading all of Tron in 1080p.

  • 0:44 some1 died while playing pac man

  • @ChaoticRupture You mean derezzed.

  • Greetings Programs!

  • The music is so un related to the movie sequences..

  • Iv played the Atari and they make the same "bleep bloop bop" sounds.I think its a little funny.

  • Isn't that that shrink gun from Honey I shrunk The Kids?

  • @Chynaash I think it is.

  • pause between 10:50 and 10:57

  • wow this is from the year 1982 and that desk has a touch screen just like today we have ipads and iphones with the touch screen so from seeing this we have had the technology since the 80s awesome if you ask me

  • 7:55 I wish I could see a helo like that in real life.

  • i think in the future im goin to get all these arcade games and bring them back, i remember the long hours trying to beat high scores at an arcade now u could do it at ur house with ps3 and xbox, its just not that fun cause after 2 hours of playing it u get bored and u leave the game and go play cod or somthing

  • 6;09 Lol! one of my friends screams like that!

  • Sound works well for me! :)

  • Alan is cute!

  • i miss dumont.

  • AAAGHH!! *smash*

  • 00:45 I hear pacman

  • Woo hoo BluRay version, i thought it never exist

  • Can you upload a louder version...?

  • I love this movie, don't get me wrong. But the acting in the 'real world'... It just seemed REALLY amateur to me. The 'real' section of the movie is still enjoyable, but a little unsettling.

  • ia there any download to this movie?

  • gotta love the sound of these recognizers, more menacing than legacy's - also, wow what a scream! Wooaaaaaaaoooow! BAM

  • 6:08

    That was an epic scream.

  • thanks man for posting this!!!!!!

  • You know the best way to stop the youtube bots of removing this due to copyright is to flip the image. ya know mirror it. Just letting you know in case it gets removed :) This is great! Thank you for uploading this!

  • @MasterSora64

You could also use black-n-white, and it looks cool in black-n-white because color is bullshit.

  • YAAAAY! I was watching this on YouTube, and then the video got erased! Thank you for uploading this!

  • CLU screams like a JB fan

  • @enpointegirl I wish I could like your comment over 100 times.

  • @fuzzybuni lol

  • @enpointegirl No, no. That's a compliment to JB fans.

  • @maggosh i miss the time when JB still was Jack Black

  • @101mannenpyro Me too. :(

  • @maggosh howcome?

  • @enpointegirl That depends on which JB you are speaking of.

  • shiiiit man!!..the movies i love i watch over and over and over again and this is one of em lol..anything you love your going to "do" repeatedly

  • Call me crazy, but I didn't care much for Bridges. I liked Boxleitner and Dan Shor's characters the most.

  • @sshuisken uh...YEAH!..your fucking bat shit lunatic insane..bridges made the movie!

  • @tasteegold7772 Then how come the movie isn't called "Flynn?"

  • @sshuisken cause TRON sounds better lol. i couldnt imagine the movie without the other characters but bridges just puts it all together.

  • @tasteegold7772 He was alright. Personally I feel that the movie gravitated toward him because of his status in the industry. This is especially evident in the sequel, where the title character is practically non-existent compared to Bridges.

  • @sshuisken you got some points but i'll finish with this...I didnt like legacy!..i didnt like flynn having to hide in the universe he created,i didnt like that tron didnt get enough spotlight and the way he 'died",and didnt like the way flynn got smoked in the end..i wouldve like to have seen flynn recapture the digital realm or atleast get rezzed back into the "real world" it was just a depressing ending..so to me the original is still the best and in my mind legacy never happened lol.

  • @tasteegold7772 We can agree on that, brother. We can certainly agree on that.

  • @tasteegold7772 They are making a third Tron so They will probably bring Tron and Flynn back.

  • let me at 'em

that would be funny if computers talked like that...

I'll never look at code the same way again!!

  • what is up with that freaky hat.

it would have been better if it was solid not squashy.

  • The graphics didn't change that much...

  • This is impressive for 1982. I'm quite pleased.

  • @RealStarHusky Then how the hell are you posting comments on youtube?

  • CLU - From "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH" to "COME ON!"

  • Finally, Somebody with guts to post this up.

  • VHS FOR LIFE!!! I got all the new movies on only VHS!!! Most of them i actually get the special edition BETA copies, new at FRY'S!!! I won't touch digital with a 10-foot stick!!! I've never even used a computer!! MY TELEVISION WEIGHS 500lbs!!!!!!

  • @RealStarHusky You won't touch digital? How did you even post this?! *mindfuck*

  • @RealStarHusky Scrolls 4 life! Books are just an overpriced modern scam!

  • Disney is so going to kick your ass for this, but WTWASP is correct in saying that going out and buying a DVD one barely remembers at full market prices is folly. Thank you for having this here for as long as it is here, Program.

  • Clu becomes the nemesis in the sequel, but he was derezed and supposedly killed in the beginning. So, can we assume that he was absorbed by the Master Control Program and was freed, but had been corrupted by his time with the MCP?

  • CLU remembers when he used to scream like a girl...and now he overcompensates

  • 6:09 "Ahhhhhhh!"

  • guys, and ladies, we need to bring back video game arcades.

  • @22centman36 you are so right!

  • @22centman36 heck yeah

  • @22centman36 Funspot in Meredith NH still exists and they still have TRON. Largest arcade in the world. I believe 500 arcade games.

  • @22centman36 Wow... I thought my city was the only city losing its arcades. The mall was at its most active when the arcades were around... Man, the good times.

But seriously... is it really lacking to appear elsewhere!!!! :*(

Was hoping if I had a date I'd take her to one xD

  • @22centman36 no shit we had one on iceland and i loved it but then i moved to norway

  • @22centman36 No Problem... Get MAME32 :-)

  • Nice. Full access to Tron. Lunchtimes sorted.

  • even thought this looks like crap, u know as i stop and think about it, this was made in like what the late 70's. so like cgi for that age was good compared to know. with tron legacy, that movie was visually beautiful. so i wonder in the next 20-50 yrs when cgi gets even better than what it is now, i bet tons of people will be like wow tron legacy graphic sucks lol

  • @thebuckrogers22 It clearly says 1982 in the title.. just sayin. But yeah, although im not looking forward to getting old, the technology in the next 20-50 years... will be insane. And the kids are gonna say "damn, did James Cameron film Avatar with a calculator?"

  • There are elements in this film that I like better than the Tron Legacy Movie. I wonder if anyone has thought of creating a movie that tells a story about how on-line gaming and future interative Kinect-type programs willnot only be entertainment like DWTS or American Idol, but also a means to observe to observe and study the public. Thanks for the UPLOAD! There is BlockBuster or Netflix out here in the Middle East.

  • yea tron the ollllldddd kind ;D

  • It saddens me that I was born at the end of the 80's and grew up a 90's kid. All the graphics and special effects in today's movies make it VERY difficult for me to enjoy classics like this. :(

  • @shriek708 yeah same :/ its so difficult to enjoy watching it because the special effects compared to the newer version are really awful(of course, what can you expect this is from the early 80's) I love the cinematography of the sequel but it was so confusing, so thats why I'm here :(

  • This is very corny. Although I am an aspiring filmmaker so I am used to bad special fx. I watched the first half of tron legacy, and i turned it off. It was too confusing. My freind than told to me to watch the original tron 1982. So here i am and i am even still confused about what is going on the first one...

  • @MovieMaker484 Legacy is a lot to follow, but i understood it @ the end. Was hoping for some more clarification watching this, but the movie jumps straight into the grid. Theres no introductions or nothing. I actually thought I was halfway through the movie like 5 mins in... still gonna watch it tho.

  • whoo! adam wants too see this film. he saw tron legacy. i might tell him wwhere to watch it

  • Jeremypark your the man. Love, old school Tron fans from the 80's.

  • Was waiting for Chrome to Say "Captain Sheridan."

  • I love how the video thumbnail is Clu screaming.

  • 10:16 Cubicles galore. America's dream.

  • @buddacafe That really is a lot of fuckin cubicles

  • it's still great after all these years .this is what inspired me to want to become a programmer. :)

  • If Clu is derezzed at the start, why is he in the second movie?

  • @Snivelly1997 different clu

  • @Snivelly1997 Kevin recreated him in the second movie. In this movie, it's Clu. In the second movie, it's Clu 2.

  • this is better than the new movie

  • This movie is what inspired the brilliant minds behind Pixar.

  • Love tron it is awesome

  • if it wasnt for this movie other movies wouldnt have been able to be accomplish especially this one The Matrix

  • Is it legal to watch this here?

  • Thank you so, so much for putting this on here!

  • Comment removed

  • @KittyKranker : Did it ever occur to you, that maybe I only need to see the movie ONCE so as to refresh my memory since seeing it when I was a kid? I am not gonna rush out and spend a bunch of money on a video I am only going to watch the one time. I'm not THAT much of a TRON fan. I thank Jeremy cos he saved me that hassle and expense. And screw Blu-Ray ; it's just the latest scam perpetuated by the home entertainment industry to make you buy your entire video library all over again.

  • @WTWASP Blu-Ray isn't a scam, that's silly. They upgraded the format, it's a visible improvement if you have a high-def TV. They're not going to charge less because most of the cost goes to the people who made the film, not the people who converted the video. If you don't want to buy your entire video library all over again, then don't [shrugs]

  • @TheShapcal : Of course it's a scam, fool. How many flippin times does a format have to be upgraded til it's bloody good enough? I mean seriously! It's gotten beyond ridiculous, and all you stupid sheep who keep buying into this nonsense are the reason for it - cos you're all dumb enough to buy the same thing over and over and over again, because soem minor tweak in quality imporvement has been achieved. Big deal!

  • @TheShapcal : And furthermore, "if you have a high-def TV"? Hello? SCAM! They not only make you re-buy the media, but you gotta uypgrade your entire entertainment system too just to use it. Wake up.

  • @TheShapcal : But, you're probably like ,12, so, of course you haven't a clue how marketing works. All you know is that things are "brighter and flashier" and you "gotta have it" to be "cool" like your friends (more sheep).

  • @WTWASP Its not a scam. Its up to you whether or not you want to upgrade all of your entertainment gear. You dont have to if youre content with DVD quality. Its not like a movie goes from Big Screen to Blu Ray only. They still come in DVD format.

  • @StephonST : You're and idiot if you're that naive. Of course it's a scam. I mean, like I said before ; why does the technology and "quality" have to keep one-upping itself? When will enough be enough? What is the endgame? 3D life-like holograms in our lviing rooms? Virtual environments that literally put us IN the movie or program? Interactivitiy with the movie? Seriously, it's beyond insane.

  • @StephonST : Clearly, there's no money to be made in "leaving well enough alone", so, new advancements are developed and ergo, more product to push.

  • @StephonST : Furthermore, if there really WAS any "choice", then I COULD take comfort in knowing I could remain with whatever format I preferred, never having it threatened - but that doesn't always happen, cos formats become DISCONTINUED, or "no longer supported" or more aptly, their PLAYING DEVICES are no longer supported, because the devices in which to play one's preferred medium are no longer produced nor supported, thereby FORCING a person to upgrade to the next format.

  • @StephonST : It's a complete scam, and it's all designed to sucker stupid people into more consumerism than is necessary. And idiots like you, blind to the truth, just feed into it.

    Fool.

  • @WTWASP Wow 4 comments. Cool bro. I understand why youre so mad, but whats the point in advancing in technology if we arent going to use it. I mean thats why we hire scientists to do that. Most thing will naturally get better, thats not a bad thing. If you cant come up with enough money in 10~20 years by the time this technology is DISCONTINUED, could always Torrent. Or Bootleg. You got options.

  • @StephonST : Your response, "whats the point in advancing in technology if we arent going to use it", is stupid. What is the point of advancing things when we already have plenty of well-enough forms of technology (for entertainment purposes)? The point IS, as I said, GREED and PROFIT. Hence, the scam to make you all buy into it. "We hire scientists" huh? You have some on YOUR payroll, do you? Fuck, you must be some teenage moron, cos no rational adult would speak so stupidly.

  • @StephonST : As for coming up with money ; First of all, why should I, or anyone else, have to? Secondly, what's this 10-20 yrs crap? This shit is advancing at a far faster rate than that! Every year, something becomes obsolete before it even finished catching on in the first place.

  • @StephonST : Thirdly, not everything that is new, is particularly better! Things get so dumbed-down and compormised in terms of lasting quality, it's further proof a scam is in place, making you buy replacements for when the cheap crap breaks or malfunctions, let alone having to do so for upgrades.

  • @StephonST : Fourthly, Torrents and bootlegs? Fuck that shit! Talk about lessened quality! You're clearly one of those scumbags who perpetuates the popularity of sub-standard quality in all things.

You wouldn't know options if they smacked you across your stupid face. "Options" my ass. Wake up, jackass. If there were any real options, I would not be having this gripe.

  • @WTWASP k bro.

  • @WTWASP I agree with you totally on Blu-Ray!!! It's a huge rip off, plus I hate the way it looks.

  • @octavioveliz : Thank you. It's nice to know I am not alone on this, lol. I don't know of the quality of Blu-Ray as I have yet to see it, but it would not surprise me if the Blu-Ray was in fact crappy quality. Seems the more they try to "improve" things, the worse it actually gets. Nothing but hype to justify bilking us all into buying the same media (in different formats) over and over...

  • @WTWASP The Tron: Legacy Blu-ray actually became the new standard at Lucasfilm as far as DVD's as the "one to beat" in terms of how well it was done.. Menus, special effects, sound quality/mix, extras, etc... The previous standard, that held the title for QUITE a while was The Fifth Element.. I typically only get standard DVD's despite having a blu-ray player (only rent as they are too expensive IMO) but Tron: Legacy is the one Blu-ray I actually own..

  • @WTWASP But you don't have to "buy your entire video library all over again", because you can play your DVDs on your Blu-Ray player. :)

  • @HarryplusHermione : Yeah... for now. Until the next media format scam comes along like some BluRay successor which obsoletes the DVD - or obsoletes both DVD as well as BluRay with something completely different. When will well enough BE enough?

  • Hey, thanks SO much for sharing this movie and in such terrific quality! (Sound was a tad low but no biggie)

I was fixing to watch the new TRON LEGACY, but then decided it'd be nice if I could somehow see the original again (since I barely remember it - I was 11 yrs old when it came out, ffs, lol). Thanks again for making it possible!

  • Greatest movie of all time! The thing I always thought was goofy about the opening is how did Sark and the other program get into a coin op machine? Aren't they just in the Encom mainframe?

  • wow, watching in 1080p lags on my 4 year old laptop!

    epic story, epic film.

  • 10:30 He turns around to pretend that he doesn't know Flynn's coming.

  • this audio is horrible

  • anybody else notice the girl with the blonde braid, wearing a flynns arcade shirt? jordan canas maybe? :D (yesh i am a true tron fan and read tron betrayal and know who jordan is:) )

  • I knew the very day they were getting the Tron game in the arcade. In the dark arcade that night, among all the chaos there, as I walked up to it to play the first time....I can still remember the smell of it, the smell of the new Tron game there, in 1982, like yesterday.

  • end of line^^ another thing taken from 1982

  • i lov it

  • lol i get it at 06:10 your computer has crashed hahaha

  • You scream like a girl CLU. Lol

  • Thumbs up for the AMAZING CGI

  • I can only imagine how awesome this was back then... I miss the arcade days.

  • awesome thank u so much

  • What the ***** is wrong with the audio? Oo

  • God hopes this doesn't copywritten.

    End of line.

  • Holy shit the father and original creator of Tron is the same as in the new movies

  • @ChristiaanL14 yeah dude, almost everyone from this tron is in the new tron movie :)

  • @ChristiaanL14 Yep, Jeff Bridges and if you look the guy that plays Tron himself, Bruce Boxleitner, is the same as in the new movie too. :)

  • @ChristiaanL14

    RINZLER!!! =D

  • @ChristiaanL14 TRONCEPTION

  • @ChristiaanL14 They digitally de-aged his face for the part of clu

  • For some reason i can't hear half the dialogue. Is that normal??

  • same quality as dvd

  • thank you for posting this. I've been trying to find it.

  • Comment removed

  • @agdollpageantgirl The new one would not have existed if it weren't for this one. This was cutting edge back in 1982.

  • @agdollpageantgirl back in 1982 the graphics was ahead of thier time

  • This movie was certainly ahead of its time.

  • Thank you for uploading this movie. I've been looking for this for weeks/months.

  • Why cant normal life be like this
