on that last part.. do you use hammer ons like 12h14h16 etc or do u pick each string? cant figure it out with picking, dont have a chance to pick that fast:P
Work on timing is all I can say, other than that, great video. I've learned it all, I'm just trying to see how he does that last solo and I can't find it=\
damn nice job dude. how long did it take u 2 learn this. ive been at it for about a month and i cant get the one lick after the slowest part of the song. any tips?
Good job man. Great left-hand technique & well done on the pedal-A. check out my version by clicking on my screen name & let me know what you think. I also agree with the others: I'd like to hear you do Crowley.
'And anyone doing straight EVH style taps ANYWHERE in that solo should be taken out and maimed.'
Well the tapping you do at the start, although it sounds fine, isn't what Randy does, he double taps the first note, whereas you do a 4 note pattern, which is basically the EVH pattern! But otherwise, it's good. Get working on that last run!
ah right no problem dude! check out my videos, there are 2 electric ones and 1 acoustic one which i put up recently, let me know what you think, advice is always helpful! btw nice guitar!
Dude that was noice. I know exactly what you mean about the bend-tapping in the solo. It's one of Randy's sig. techniques!! Don't disgrace it people... long live Rhoads!!
I'm using a rack mount set up consisting of a Digitech 2120 using a custom tube distortion patch named "Dirty Gerty". Then into a BBE 462 Sonic Maximizer in stereo. My power amps are Randall RRM280's, which push the signal into two 4x12 Hartke guitar cabinets loaded with Celestions.
I've been pretty happy with the sound on it's own and for recording, but I'm finding it doesn't cut through a live mix like a I would like. I'm thinking about shopping for a new rig...
Hey Psion... Thanks for the good comment. I tried to email you about where to download the tabs from, or I could send them to you directly, but "friend lock" prevented my message from getting to you. You'll have to add me as a friend...
Damn!!! Someone named BigBallin, or something close made a comment that I wanted to respond to, but I accidentally clicked "Remove" instead of "Reply". Sorry, Dude! It was a pure stupid accident on my part...
pretty nice playing, the main thing i'd try to fix in that solo is the intro tapping, its actually played by double tapping on the top note, and if you can find a guitar with a wammy bar, you can get the randy sound even more closely. But nice playing, clean fingerwork, keep it up!
yeah nice guitar for sure. I got a CE24 also, f*%cking sick! Pretty damn close to the notes too. Keep working on that and you'll have it pretty close to perfect. Nice chops.
Thanks for the kind words, but my timing is only the start of the problems. This is actually riddled with little glitches from beginning to end, but improving it.
man, you can play!

What are your amp settings?
Altairetheowner 3 years ago
When I recorded this, I was playing through a Digitech 2120 Artist, a BBE 462 Sonic Maximizer, and a Randall RRM2-80 power amp.
I can't recall the exact settings for the patch on the 2120, except that it was the tube channel, full saturation, with a little reverb.
Since then, I've switch to Marshall rigs. I have a TSL100 half stack, and a TSL122 combo.
