What is wrong with feeding the squirrels too? They get hungry too just like the birds. If you care about animals why just feed the birds and nothing else?
How about some balloons underneath? Squirrel falls from feeder onto balloon, bursting it and scaring the sh** out of it and all the ones below watching .....
he would come and try to get the feeder fall off cimb the tree and chatter at it for about an hr then i shot him one day because he pissed me off to a point, then i ate him!
funniest thing to do to em is slick it down with vasaline. like if u have one on a poll put vasaline on it or even with that one put the vasaline on the feeder where theres no bird peg. they would hit that thing and slide right off.
Now your tree looks like an eye sore full of duct tape just so you can prevent squirrels from eating out of bird feeders which theyll eventually get to anyway. Fucking buffoon.

I was in my land first, the squirrels moved into my yard and cost me hundreds in cash to replace the electrical wiring they chew through, plus they keep stealing from the garden that me and my neighbor grow fruit from. So now i just say screw it. I invested a simple 7 bucks in pellets and bagged two of them last month... one of em' died in our pool... strange how snakes and lizzards can swim out but squirrels just die there.
@ottnseal Okay well these squirrels go up to the chicken coup and start making these weird barking noises and it scares the chickens away. The chickens didn't do anything to make em' mad either the chickens just go out on the grass and look for worms, then sleep in thier coup when tired. Plus I am still not happy about thier infesting our pool and water drains with thier nests, I have to flush the nests out to prevent my yard from flooding not to mention my wiring and sprinkler system

@shanebirmz The squirrel can find food elsewhere. We don't need to feed them. Padlocking someone's cupboards and fridge would be different, it's much more difficult for people to find their own food. Unless you just want us to eat the squirrels.

@anyuci1959 Actually, my house was put in first, the freaking squirrels came afterwards, i've been living here for about 11 er so years and these four squirrels ripped up my yard, lighting, stole chicken food, made noises in the morning, crapped everywhere etc.... So I shot two with the pellet rifle, one drowned in the pool on its own, and the last one I caught and relocated it to the wild preserve down the road :D trust me, there's no shortage of squirrels, they're just pests here.

I have no problem with animals at all, I have two dogs, three pet snakes, three chickens, I used to have a cat, and many many fish. however, when the squirrels start picking fights with my chickens becuase the squireels want territory, I will get rid of them. I'm not gunna have an invasive squirrel bite my chickens for food I bought for the chickens. The squirrels can live somewhere else I won't bother em' but no fighting my pets.

@ottnseal Thank you ottnseal. There is no way to change this people's thinking. Too bad, because they miss so much in life if they not enjoy animals around them. I feed the squirrels all year around, and birds too. We had only 2 squirrels 6 years ago when we moved here. Now I have at least 10 of them. They come every day, and it's really an entertainment for us every morning, and evening. Much better then watching tv. I also have 3 cats, and they never hurt them. Check out my videos.

@LeaderOfTheRedNinjas Just do a Google search for "Twirl-a-squirrel" from some mail order house. That is where I got mine. Batteries last several months unless the squirrels are having extra fun spinning a long time.
Put peppers in your bird feeder... the birds love it cause they have no saliva... squirrels do and they will flip out (they acually whipe it of there tong like lots of humans do) it is fuuunnnnnyyyy
I used to have bird feeders on posts. The squirrels would make a running leap onto the post, then climb up and chow down. I hit on the idea of smearing petroleum jelly on the post. First time I watched it, the squirrel did his usual flying leap, he hit the jelly, spun around and launched himself nearly 15 feet!
@LloydMcArton The twirl-a-squirrel is weight activated. If more than 1 pound of weight is on the feeder after it is calibrated with the seeds in it, the thing will spin for 30 seconds. If the weight is still there after 30 sec, it will spin again. Takes a lot of birds to add up to 1 lb. I did see 2 scrub jays get on there at the same time and the thing spin them off. Many laughs and hours of entertainment.

my friend, there's no use fighting over innocent animals in our america. if u were the animal, how would u feel as a pregnant sqirrel being shot by a gun? very awful, isn't it pal? see, u couldn't cut your neighbor's tree to make the poor animals transfer, can you? they love u man! daz why they stay w/ u, but u shot em, kill em just like that. what are u? a free-wheeling murderer? am for the more understanding ones that replied here, leave em alone!

@ottnseal Uhh. Okay uhm... have you ever had squirrel problems? I have no problem with animals at all, I have two dogs, three pet snakes, three chickens, I used to have a cat, and many many fish. however, when the squirrels start picking fights with my chickens becuase the squireels want territory, I will get rid of them. I'm not gunna have an invasive squirrel bite my chickens for food I bought for the chickens. The squirrels can live somewhere else I won't bother em' but no fighting my pets.

@ottnseal Thank you ottnseal. There is no way to change this people's thinking. Too bad, because they miss so much in life if they not enjoy animals around them. I feed the squirrels all year around, and birds too. We had only 2 squirrels 6 years ago when we moved here. Now I have at least 10 of them. They come every day, and it's really an entertainment for us every morning, and evening. Much better then watching tv. I also have 3 cats, and they never hurt them. Check out my videos.

If i am a starving pregnant mother or breastfeeding mom squirrel, won't u kindly give me some little food 2 feed my baby up there in the cold nest in wintertime? we lost our leaves, & very visible to the cruel hawks who would take one of my babies 4 lunch. i saw one young hawk caught a poor baby the other day, he picked it up after he poked his killer beak on its head. where's your mercy? i guess none..

I used to have bird feeders on posts. The squirrels would make a running leap onto the post, then climb up and chow down. I hit on the idea of smearing petroleum jelly on the post. First time I watched it, the squirrel did his usual flying leap, he hit the jelly, spun around and launched himself nearly 15 feet!

@LloydMcArton The twirl-a-squirrel is weight activated. If more than 1 pound of weight is on the feeder after it is calibrated with the seeds in it, the thing will spin for 30 seconds. If the weight is still there after 30 sec, it will spin again. Takes a lot of birds to add up to 1 lb. I did see 2 scrub jays get on there at the same time and the thing spin them off. Many laughs and hours of entertainment.
