This all just seems like the plot from the Producers, where the DC leadership wants to see if they can make more money off of failure than success. I cannot understand the logic, probably because there isn't any. This is Marvel-esque thinking, at worst a bullshit reboot!!

ITS A REEEE BOOT. when you introduce new continuity to any character-- its a REBOOT.

1986s Man of Steel was a REBOOT.

2004s GREEN LANTERN REBORN was a RELAUNCH.

NONE of these creative teams mean anything ( 99% of them wont last the full yr) so we need to look at the conceptual changes.

This is going to be a MASSIVE continuity mess because they are saying " some things happend BUT others didnt" thats a F**KING mess.

Hmmmm I've been a Marvel guy my whole life...But lately I've been really disappointed in their general direction (destroying years of Spider-Man continuity with 'Brand New Day'.....Turning Punisher into a Frankenstein's Monster for a while....I could go on and on) I've been wanting to get into DC but haven't known where to begin...this may be a good thing for me. I'm sure if I was a longtime DC reader though I'd be pissed, or at least very skeptical. Good thing I'm not! :)

I'm glad DC is trying to make comics easy to read. Amazing Spider-Man is my favorite book nowadays, but the rest of Marvel needs to actually organize their plots.

Trying to read X-Men is often a pain in the butt. There are so many ongoing threads at the same time, and you have to read each spin off series to understand their shared plot.

Its nothing like the cartoon where you could just watch the next episode of X-Men.

I'm pretty sure the reason why everyone (including myself) freaked out was because in DC's first Facebook post, in the note attached to the article it said they were revamping and /rebooting/ the characters. If they didn't want people to get the wrong idea, they probably shouldn't have put that in there.

One thing i hope comes from this relaunch (I Guess) is that they keep the number of books for characters to only a few ie just batman and detective comics. I think they had/have too many batbooks. Now i love batman and do get alot of the books he's in but when i go to the comic shop and get say 9 books and about 5 are diffrent batbooks. and if im buying so many books for just one character im not likely to buy some other ones like flash that i didnt get for the longest time (regret now).

@TWOMERCY a reboot means that you ignore ALL previous continuity and start from the beginning. So think of the Batman movies. Batman Begins was a reboot because it ignored all the movies that came before and started fresh. The same applies to comic books. They ARE tweaking the timeline, but we have no idea WHAT they are changing.
