  • It's like getting a lesson from Mozart, except better.

As for Natalie Portman, who cares. Actors and actresses are puppets that can be replaced with a snap of the fingers with another desperate person waiting in the wings. They're just the dolls of huge, lucrative businesses.

  • Life isn't fair. I'm a good enough guitarist to be in Paul's band. But my phone aiin't exactly ringin! ;D

  • maccartney will be a beatles foever and ever.... he hasnt changed his ways at all. thats what i love about him.. hes always been the same awesome person and never acts his age.. which is awesome!! hes soooo cool how he doesnt even act 68!! ( or 67 not sure) i wish i could hang out with him for a day <333 more like a LIFETIME!! hahah <333 wuv u forever paulie :)

  • @3rdpug shut up

  • @3rdpug an you tell me were you heard that?don't get me wrong,it's not like i want proof but for quite a time i wanted to know natalie's opinion about paul

  • @3rdpug That's just not true. Don't write foolish things about a Beatle!!

  • I dont think Paul is a person, he's a Big Note from which all other notes flow ;)

Naaa hes a very good musician, he has the concentration to do it very well. Anyone can do it if they have the concentration.

  • i would teach her too. anything

  • he plays mandolin?

  • @CGiordano464 of course- Paul said on the Jools Holland show interview one day randomly walked into a music shop and asked if they had any left handed instruments, and they said all they had was a mandolin, so he got it learned it, and worte the song "Dance Tonight" on it. Paul plays bass, acoustic, electric guitars, trumpet was his 1st instrument so trumpet, as well as piano, upright bass (the big violin kinda one),harmonica, keyboard, drums, ukulele and probably more

  • @QueenBeatlesWings hum well i also guess it depends on what you mean when some ppl say do you "play" and instrument. Mandolin is an insrument that to be considered good it takes alot of effort and study. He just kinda plays chords. Id like to see him do some blue gras! but all repect for Paul to as he truely is amazing

  • @CGiordano464 our right- that would be cool. Paul has done all kinds of music types from pop, rock, classical, jazz, ballads, orchestras and other things but never bluegrass- although one of Paul's Beatles songs "Ive Just Seen A Face" is often played bluegrass style

  • @QueenBeatlesWings yea thers alot of neat blue-grass tribute music out there. Especially when its replicated to a Beatles song

  • Natalie Portman (who Sir Paul is teaching here) appeared in Paul McCartney's music video "Dance Tonight" from his 2007 album Memory Almost Full,

  • great video.5. God bless.

  • I want Paul to teach me how to play... any kind of instrument. D:

  • I agree ! (:

  • lucky her!

  • Natalie is hot - lucky Paul..

  • Lucky girl: music lessons from Paul McC.

  • the song in the background is so cute, what's it's name?

  • I know! its so cute. well its Dance Tonight by Paul:D

  • Paul Mccartney - Dance Tonight :)

  • Dance Tonight

  • @yaeli30994 dance tonight

  • @yaeli30994 the song is "Dance Tonight' by Paul McCartney--it's played on mandolin which is why Paul si teaching this girl madnolin

  • @yaeli30994 :"Dance Tonight" written and sung by Paul McCartney on his own mandolin

  • the mandolin is not hard to play . i have big fat fingers and i can play a little on the thing.

  • @bluegrassman776 how much does it differ from playing the guitar?

  • @Bigfatbutterfly02 Quite a bit, but it is so much fun you learn in no time. When I first bought a ukulele, I had already know how to play "Something" for a month. The internet and especially Youtube make it so easy for you to learn any instrument. Just pull up a tutorial video and Google a mandolin chord chart just in case you need it and you are ready to go!

  • I know, in that way Youtube us absolutely briliant

  • @Bigfatbutterfly02 wuite a bit- it's a different picking ans strumming style-different tuning- and harder. going from ukulele to guitar or vice versa is easier becuase a ukulele is exactly the same as guitar minus 2 strings. Paul just makes it look easy- he can play just about anything including regualr, electric, and base guitar, banjo, ukulele, piano, keyboard, & drums

  • @4FabBEATLES I know, he's great ;)

  • i got mandoline cart play it cart even tune it

  • To thebilliejean: a mandolin is tuned just like a violin starting from the thinest string E, A, D, G.......you can buy a violin "pitch pipe" at most music shops........heck, any shop that is decent will just tune it for you in about 2 minutes

  • Lucky Natalie Portman gets a music lesson from a BEATLE!! excuse me, ex-Beatle.

  • paul is still a beatle, and forever will be

  • @MerryBlueberry No such thing.

  • @MerryBlueberry No, he is a Beatle and forever will be!

  • @MerryBlueberry

C'est plutôt Paul McCartney, qui est chanceux d'être avec une élève aussi sublime que Nathalie portman ;-))

  • ha ha i play mandolin and guitar and piano and harmonica and percussion and trumpet!

  • I am a guitarist and it is a bitch to get used to playing a mandolin.....the neck is so damned thin....your fingers are totally crammed together....but its a great sounding instrument

  • why do some people make gross jokes like that? is he not allowed to teach a pretty actress an instrument? they could be friends for all we know

  • Will u guys stop with the sick jokes!!! He didn't do her!:) But if he did I wish I was Natalie Portman:)

  • Nuts deep in a Jewish princess. Nice one Paul.

  • Then I'd wish I were Paul McCartney, but then again, that's not really new for me.

  • How lucky she is...

  • And you wouldn't? :)

  • I love it! Natalie playing a magical spirit. It just seems so right.

  • That is so coool I love them.

  • come on paul,, teach her another stuff's =D!!

  • Has anyone seen Jon Nickoll's version of McCartney's "I'll be on my way" on here? Its utterly enchanting. Jon played it for Paul

when he met him at the Savoy Hotel

  • everyone should learn to play the mandolin, it gets you dates, and I'm speaking from experience!

  • thats cool, that guy who plays ragettii in the pirates movies is in the video

  • i like natalie portman! it's nice of paul to teach her hehe

  • she is an actress

she played queen amidala(luke and leia's mother) in the recent star wars films

  • Hi, it's Paul 'ere. I'll teach you but it'll cost you an arm and a leg....

  • You just gave me a month's worth of material

  • it's not a ukulele it's a mandolin.And for someone so-smart you'd think that Portman would know how to hold a guitar-like object .

  • HA HA!

  • You've obviously never attempted to play a guitar standing up with no strap.

  • I always find it pathetic when somebody hates another so much that they need to identify themselves with that person's name. How sad. Are you so lame that that your persona is nothing other than using somebody else's fame to hide your own obscurity? Also, I know many smart, beautiful women that would love to spend a night with Macca. Is that where your jealousy gets you? I doubt it.

  • that was the funniest comment I've read all day

  • you better shut up!

  • "paul mccartney is a cunt"? well he's also a billionaire/genius...maybe that sets things even for him ?

  • I hate it when adolescents post idiotic comments. Hey, when nobody knows who you are, there's not accountability.

  • wow, you're really mean.

  • OHHHHHH!!! AWESOME!! U CAN NATALIE!!

  • Does Paul reverse the order of the strings to play left handed?

  • yes he does.but im sure nowadays people do it for him.

  • so that was her in the video

  • Natalie is the luckiest person on the human earth!!! Someone like PAUL MCCARTNEY!!! teaching her??? OMG! hey paul>>i need some bass tutoring....

  • Cool.

  • great, i don't know who id rather be, nat or paul

  • that was cute.

  • Sir Paul teaching Natalie to play Mandolin... Hella-cool. Now, with her on mandolin, she could probably form a cover band of stuff like Zeppelin or R.E.M. :)

  • omG I WOULD DIE I LOVE PAUL..... come teach mee pleeeasee

  • Natalie, come in Naples to get a "classic" mandolin lesson! :-D

  • GREAT COMMENT!!! :-)))

  • It sounded strange to me the mandolin played like an "ukulele", (the little hawaiian guitar) for me the mandolin must be played "sustained" tickering two strings roughly like a banjo to obtain the sustained "languid" note. But obviously everyone (non neapolitan) is free to play as he likes.

  • It's rather played bluegrass style. I play classical/italian style and when i heard the bluegrass playing and saw the bluegrass mandolin for the first time, i couldn't believe that's a mandolin and mandolin music. But it is indeed.

  • It doesn't sound that much like an ukulele. By the way, to those of you that don't know, "ukulele" is not pronounced "you-kah-lay-lee". So please stop saying it like that when you come to Hawaii. It's pronounced "ooh-ku-le-le". Mahalo, and aloha!

  • I wonder if Sir Paul would like to teach me to play mandolin?????

  • that's something

  • Paul is awesome!

  • nice....
