  • I have this on a 45, used to be my mom or aunts, too funny.

  • Yes,please upload the "Super K" side! That would be great! THANX!

  • The flip side of Angela by Professor Morrison's Lollipop is also backwards. It's called Ruby Duby Doo. It's on White Whale rather than Buddah but was produced by Supper K Productions and written by the same guys. The B side of "I'm In Love With You" by Kasenetz Katz Singing Curcus "to You With Love" is part of the A side backwards and on the wrong speed.

  • Anyone know if this song is Bring Back Howdy Doody by Flying Giraffe that was released on Bell records around the same time? Also a super K production like the Crazy Elephant was?

  • @stevelawner55 Yes, it's the same song but this one has more punch to my ears. The Flying Giraffe is more bubble gummy not that that's bad. I just prefer this one and played it backwards as a kid.

  • My oh my. This song has been a curiosity of mine for around 30 years. I've always been freaked out by reversed recordings and been too much of a coward to reverse the song myself when I had the 45. Kept wondering what the song was when played in reverse (or forwards if you chose to look at it like that), let alone why that was done. That's one trivial weight of my shoulders.

  • "Zig Zag" was "Poor Old Mr. Jensen"-the Instrumental backing was used.

  • @mrmjb1960 You're right and this instrumetal backing was also used for the flip side of Jerry & Jeff's Sweet Sweet Loving issued on the Buddah subsidiary label "Supper K". and it's not backwards. I can upload it if you want to hear it. I have the single.

  • How about doing "Zig Zag" by the Ohio Express in reverse too? That would be way cool too!!!

  • @BBINGHAM032352 - That's on the flip side of Yummy, Yummy, Yummy and I don't have the 45 in my collection.

  • Wow! No wonder they released this one backwards! It sounds better that way.

  • Written by Steve Dworkin. Stolen and released backwards as "Pow Wow" without listing Steve as writer. Steve sang and wrote for his group Gerry & The Gems as well as writing for other artists such as "I Don't Care" by The Del-Satins.

  • I had a copy of this but it was cracked. I know, I know... How could I tell, Right? But one day I recognized it as backwards audio so I put the needle at the end, the player in neutral, and spun the disc backward. It sounded almost as good as this. I've often wondered how could someone produce something so off pitch as this. But it is a funny little song that I still remember. Who remembers the A track on the front? "Indian Giver".

  • This song was produced by the legendary team of Jerry Kasenatz and Jeff Katz. Apparently they were notorious for putting backwards songs on the B-side . This ensured that only the song they wanted to push got played. THE A- SIDE.

  • i thought ours was possessed but guess not DAMNIT!!!!!!!!

  • We used to put the turntable in neutral and spin this backward in order to hear the Howdy Doody thing. Thanks for posting this one!!!

Of course, it screwed up the needle

  • Today we have computer software that reverses it, no more srewing up the needles.

  • Hey, me too!! I had a record player from the S&H Green Stamp store. This was one of the first half dozen records I bought to play on it!!

  • @carolyn1e1s - I had forgotten about S&H Green Stamps. Somewhere around here I have a book or two of Top Value Stamps. I could probably sell them on ebay and make a few bucks!

  • @carolyn1e1s Remember Plaid Stamps....they were a reddish color with a girl in a Scottish outfit on the cover of the book. I think the A&P gave the Plaid Stamps and the Acme gave the S&H green stamps.

  • Thanks to Chuck Berry, every time somebody hums "Little Brown Jug" most people think they're hearing "My Ding-A-Ling." The same thing happens with people of a certain age when you hum "Ta-Ra-Ra-Boomdeeyay" around them. They think "It's Howdy Doody Time."

  • Can't decide if this is funny or just plain creepy. And yes, I remember Howdy Doody....*feeling old*

  • THAT WAS SURPRISING!!

No wondering this haven't released the right way!!!
