Can someone please help me.I have the mac version of logic express 9 and I also have the line 6 guitar port I'm trying to use the guitar port in logic how is this done??
@HaiderZia41 About $100, is what I bought it for. If you have a mac, I would recommend downloading the free "Caffeine" app to keep your computer from going to sleep, as that would cause Gearbox to stop working correctly unless your restart the computer.
OK....one question that i cannot find the answer to anywhere...Can you import either a MIDI Sequence from Guitar pro software or an AAC file into the guitar port?
because i'm getting a the guitarport and it would be so much easier for me if i could import the drums i've already wrote on guitar pro into it, instead of writing them all out again, because my drum patterns can get quite technical.
@Funeralmoon666 I can't seem to find a way to do this, but you could always export the drums in an audio format, and place them over your guitar track accordingly.
A question about the Guitar Port if you don't mind? Will it let me record some of my bass guitar lines in it too?? That's what i want to mainly use it for. I need SOMETHING. my webcam mic. just doesnt suffice
You can get a good bargain on Ebay for this device. You don't really need any of the software it comes with as It works great with Logic Express 09 and Garageband for OS X. These come with all the amp modelling/effects you really need. The online service seems like a way of milking users for $
i just bought a guitar to usb lead, and i play it with audacity, i cant hear the sound untill i unplug the cable , and even cant hear myself playing which would be much better , anyone know if this is normal?
This looks great, my only question; Do you need a good Sound Card to be able to use it properly? Because mine is pretty shitty (I think it's from good old 2002) so...
i just use the normal cable to plug the guitar on the mic entrance.. but thers always the problem with the "bzzzz" noise always hearing in the back when you play... when you use a USB cable to plug the guitar.. is it make any noise at all? or just the sound of the guitar?
You need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter, they sell them at Radioshack or every other store of that nature for 5 bucks or less. Then plug your guitar cable to the adapter, then plug the guitar with the adapter either to the "Line in" or "Microphone" port of your PC, then you are ready to rock \m/
is it free?

I plug this into my Mac, and then line it out into my car speakers. Awesome for outdoor parties, etc.

Don't think so mate. As I understand it the guitar port itself is the audio processor so it doesn't matter what your sound card is.

Yeah, it sounds like that's the case. Thank you man!
Jagguar20 2 years ago
@brynsank yep, the GP itself is a soundcard with very decent specs like latency etc etc

can you record guitar songs with this?
eddymdr 3 years ago
Yes it makes the computer recognize it as a driver. Open up your recording software, then choose system audio.
