love this video. even love the rather bright touque our midge is wearing. never thought a man could look that good in a pair of faded jeans. love ya midge.
I've always thought it was neat how this video and U2s "New Years Day" and Big Country's "Wonderland" -- all from around the same time -- had a similar sort of exhilarating jumping-around-in-the-snow-in-our-flannels-and-guitars vibe to them. All three bands seemed to be tapping into an upbeat and hopeful spirit simultaneously (making cold, inhospitable or remote locations seem warm and alive).
Great song from a great band. Midge Ure was pletoric here. Now i see this like a natural bridge between Joy Division and U2-liked bands. They aren't the "transition", they are the lost piece in the chain.
"How many times has it turned against you, how many times will they walk away. How many times have you let depression win the fight........oh, my sentimental friend, we'll walk as one again................."
What a fantastic song from one of the most underated groups in music.
Outstanding song. This, Hymn and Visions In Blue are my 3 favourite 'Vox songs and I was delighted to see all 3 played at Return To Eden reunion tour gig in Glasgow last night. Excellent performance - band looked really chuffed with reception they got.
Made me feel 18 again (age I was when I last saw them, on the U-Vox tour before they split.
Hope we don't have to wait another 24 years for the next gig!
It's Ultravox week on my blog to celebrate the tour. Check my channel for address.
What a Great song !,You could have the worst day in your life ,you listen to it and before to long your ready to take on the world again.Midge ,Chris ,Billy and Warren ,thanks for helping me get through difficult times with your music.Respect and Glad your Back in Town! Jim ;'@)
