Drummer was helping on the vocals. Stills has lost an incredible amount of range. Even Furay is vocally down a notch these days. Seeing Stills I've my doubts about a tour. Don't think it'd vocally hold up. The Springfield did some very complex harmonies requiring both stamina and range.
An absolute gas to see maybe America's most inventive and dynamic band in the 60s. The Byrds and them paved the way for sooooo much. One of my five "B"s-Beatles, Byrds, Band, Beach Boys and them.
@MrDavearama Oh give me a break. Richie is good but his voice doesn't come close to that of David Crosby or a prime Stills either. Crosby still has an incredible voice at close to 70 years old.
@MrDavearama Clearly you know nothing about David Crosby because he sang lead on many of CSN's biggest hits and his voice is still very good, much better than Furays.
@MrDavearama Hey White Trash Child Molester...too bad that you love to suck BIG BLACK N*gger D*ck...but you have to steal it from vulnerable disadvantaged black kids...(This is for his post on my channel page - he's a pedophile coward and has deleted access to writing him directly...)
Thanks for the posting. I won't be able to see them live. This is the next best thing. If there was one reunion I'd go to see above any other this would be it. Fantastic music. Never to old to rock and roll. Fast or slow.
As a fan 43 years ago, I always wanted to see them in concert. It was worth the wait! Buffalo Springfield sounded better than ever, and the packed audience was blown away, obviously enjoying it even in the rain! We were levitated in a time machine!
WHEN ARE THEY GONNA RELEASE A GOOD AUDIO/VISUAL OF THIS ?? --- THIS SOUND IS ALL SCREWY --- AND I'M SURE THEY HAD BIG TIME MOVIE CAMERAS FILMING THIS !! --- COME ON NEIL RICHIE STEPHEN --- CUT LOOSE YOU FOSSILIZED OLD ROCK N ROLL DINOSAURS !!!
It's kind of amazing really. I never thought I'd see the Springfield (even if only 3 of 'em) play again. Even if they are way out of their prime, they're pretty good here. You know darn well that Richie always wanted them back together, but it was Neil and Stephen. Maybe they finally realized with Dewey now gone (Bruce died several years back), they were able to set aside their differences and just have a little fun. Congrats, guys. Now if only Fogerty would make peace with Stu & Doug!!
we were there on sunday. this, on the way home and mr. soul were the highlights. the sound, even in the lawn, was outstounding. you really got the feeling that these 3 were really enjoying playing together again. I was happy for them, and for all that got to hear them.
I SAW THE SATURDAY SHOW --- AND WAS GOING TO GO SUNDAY TOO -- BUT I WOULD HAVE DIED OF PNEUMONIA --- I WAS ALREADY VOICELESS , FLU , COLD , SICK , WASTED --- WHAT A WAY TO GO !!!
JEZEBEL IS RIGHT --- I CANT GET THIS SONG OUT OF MY HEAD --- 3 DAYS LATER !! --- WHAT I LIKE IS STILLS GUITAR WORK WHEN HE PLAYS THAT CUSTOM STEPHEN STILLS MARTIN --- THOSE CHORDS --- ITS HAUNTING
ACTUALLY I THOUGHT STEPHEN STILLS WAS GOING TO HAVE A SPAZ ATTACK ONSTAGE , COKE ADDICTS IN THEIR ADVANCED YEARS DO ALL KINDS OF WEIRD THINGS , ASK BARACK OBAMA
Thanks for sharing. I've taped several concerts here and wind always seems to be an issue even with a wind guard and nice weather This is in no way a complaint but a observation as a audio taper.
There's no words to describe how fantastic it is to see these guys together again. It's obvious they're all enjoying the experience. Richie's just beaming. I know how much he wanted this to happen and for so long. Three cheers for the Springfield!
Let me echo the appreciation for capturing part of the performance, is that thunder I hear or the sound of the tent material in the wind? It's errie but so great to see the boys again, Stills sounded good from what I can tell via this recording. Thanks for posting
I WAS THERE , IT WAS HISTORY , ON STAGE , LIKE ALTAMONT , OR MONTEREY POP , OR WOODSTOCK --- I WAS GOING SUNDAY ALSO , BUT AM SUFFERING WITH NO VOICE AND FLU FROM SATURDAYS RAIN SOAKED BUFFALO LOVE FEST
Watch the Giants clinch the championship at the Sports Page bar and then stumble to the shoreline for a once in a lifetime Buffalo Springfield show and easily score some seats because the Pearl Jam crowd isn't old enough to know better... no offense. A perfect day in the bay. Thanks for posting.
I'm literally in tears...speechless. I love these guys! They're beautiful. Thank you for posting, and thank you Neil, Stephen and Richie. I just wish I could have been there.
I was there. It was Magical. The sound quality was soo good in the audience. Their voices were as Perfectly matched and harmonious as Ever!! I got chills quite a few times. This, Bluebird and Kind Woman were out of this world... seriously, was stellar.
@fenderbass57 No really, it was a tactical mistake on my part. Had I known how much interest their would be and how well they would come out, I would have shot more Buffalo Springfield. I've rarely seen this kind of response.
Thanks for the links ZUrlocker but from a history standpoint it might have been better to capture all of the Buffalo Springfield and skip some if not all of Pearl Jam and Billy Idol.
Unfortunately, I just got the 2 Buffalo Springfield songs, though plenty of Pearl Jam and some Billy Idol and Elvis Costello. I have posted links to other good videos on guitarvibe com
I've been playing my Buffalo Springfield cd's a lot the last couple of days in anticipation of this performance. And here they are. I LOVE it! They look smashing, fringes and all. This acoustic version of R&R woman sounds really great, imagine how it was inside the amphitheatre. I wish I could have been there. Thanks, guys ! Greetings from the Caribbean.
The funny thing is that David Crosby is the one who gave the Buffs this opening riff. Chris Hillman gave them the opening riff to "Go and Say Goodbye". The Byrds were big supporters of the Springfield.

@Inspector711 -You obviously don't sing or know anything about would makes
a great voice. Stills had an interesting voice, most of which is gone, but not
in Richie's league ever, Crosby had one 50 years ago, in the last 20 years
his voice is pretty shot. He was a role player vocalist, not lead on shit.

I first saw the Buffalo Springfield in Hollywood at the Hullabaloo Club in 1966. They were great then, and they still have the chops.
