Nope, they are NOT always caused by spiders. They can come about from spider bites, but that is not the usual occurrence. Staph and MRSA is a natural bacterium that lives on almost everyones skin. (note, i said almost) Sometimes this bacteria decides to get cozy in a cut, bug bite, ingrown hair, or in this case, a shaving nick and an abscess occurs. Our entire family has actually had MRSA because it is so highly contagious. This is just the most recent battle. It was lanced 9-25-2010.

OMG I hope you are feeling better! That looks really nasty. If you dont mind me asking how did this happen. Everyone seems to blame them on spiders!
