i havent seen much of it myself, but from what i saw of the references made in the show, yeah it was. Eric (Mari's bro, one of the investigators) was worried for a while about how short a time theyd known each other as they planned their wedding. as for the age thing, i dunno. i know shes older than Eric, and hes not exactly a teenager. H is probably somewhere in his thirties-early forties *shrugs*
