  • When i clench my upper and lower jaw together,my teeth touch together, bu my front teeth on my lower jaw slide back behind the front teeth, is this normal?

  • @4evermason hey Taylor my name is yasiris and I'm 12 years old. What happen is that you have a open bite. A open bite is when you have a big gap in the middle of the upper jaw and the lower jaw like you said a big gap in the middle of your mouth. Well I think you need a jaw surgery but don't be scare it's going to be Okay. I wish you good luck 

  • @4evermason what happen is that you have a open bite. When you bite down there is gap in the middle of the upper jaw and the lower jaw.

  • Hi, my names Taylor and I'm 13 years old. I live in the UK and may need surgery on my jaw. The problem is, is that my top and bottom front teeth don't touch but my molars do. When I put my teeth together , there's a big gap in the middle of my mouth where my teeth are. I'm pretty scarf as the is my first operation. Please can someone tell me exactly what happens? Thanks x

  • @princess4389 Some of use need jaw surgery for Medical reasons, its not always cosmetic, I just had a Jaw Sugery and Brone Grapht because I had bone deteration, I would highly reccoment it, sure you may have great friends but corrective jaw surgery makes you look so much better, but if you inist on looking horrible thats your choice

  • I can relate to this video. I had jaw surgery last summer, it was on my upper jaw. My overbite was so bad that I couldn't put my lips together. I was had low self confindence , I limited my friends, I didnt talk to boys, I would cry when someone asked me why is your mouth like that and etc. I had to wait till i was 15 years old to have the surgery. Before my surgery I researched everything on jaw surgery including this video. Anyway i was really scared about the surgery. After the surgery i was

  • this is so stupid, be happy with who you are

  • @Baiyiy ......? he wasn't, hence the surgery.

  • Hi I knew you haa

  • اتمنى ان اسوي عمليتي

  • Sorry, I was just laughing with your 6 week diet. Hahaha. Baby food. :))

  • Cool video! :)

  • i am just recovering from an over bite operation. I am not going to lie it was very scary as i had my jaw wired and the morphine made me very sick. Once you have week one over with rest is easy i am week 2 now and i have stopped taking my drugs. Just got to take loads of mouth wash and use lip cream..

  • hey i have an underbite im 15 years old its not really like an undebite just my teeth are all lined up with each other do i need surgery for this?

  • @Trilimionity good luck bud! i had mine a week ago and feel awesome, just a little bit of swelling still.

  • i had this done back in the summer of 86. it was rough, i'm not sure if they do it the same way now or not, but 6 weeks of having your mouth wired shut got old FAST. they also had 2 tubes in me thru my nose. 1 went to my stomach the other was for breathing. they pulled the breathing one shortly after surgery, and the other tube came out the next morning. that sucked. i also had all my wisdom teeth cut out at the same time so my cheeks were all puffed out due to swelling. no problems since though

  • pfffff ill will get one myself iam scared TT

  • im 11 with a bad case of underbite but im scared to have surgery.DOES IT HURT?!!!

  • @amy10102525 no. they give you medecine in the hospital that makes you feel comfortable.

  • im going through this phase right now!

  • wow your turned out great! i just had my lower and upper jaws broken 5 days ago. its been really painful since then but im on the down slope now! waiting for this stupid swelling to go away :/

  • Jaw surgery is THE best single thing I have ever done in my life, seriously guys. My videos show the dramatic change but I am so happy now :) x

  • I think jaw surgery is amazing. But in my case,it came at a big price. I had both my jaws worked on in 1998,when I was 26. It's been almost 14 years and the numb lips and edges of upper and lower jaw feel numb and funny. It is not nearly as bad as it was the first 5-7 years, but it is there. Just know if you are going in for future jaw surgery, this is a possible outcome. I like how I look, but not how parts of my face feel. Happy journeys.

  • Hi I wrote to you a long time ago... Finally in less than a month if god let it happen I will have my surgery... I'm just afraid to loose weight cause I don't really need to... at least no more than 5 pounds... Your video is one of the most motivating videos for me.. Thanks for that! And hopefully my end results with the surgery are as good as yours :) I will post a video after surgery

  • how much its cost?

  • I just had surgery on my jaw 2 days ago. I'm pretty much recovering at my house. I got ice, drinking liquids. I can't wait till this heals so I can get back on my feet and do work. I'm hurting a little bit but not that much. Hope everyone is feeling alright and I hope that everyone heals fast. God Bless

  • @deaztbreazy1111 I had that same thing on the 7th too. how are you? i'm terrible and it keeps feeling like the blood and everything is oozing out of my sinuses but wont move from there so I feel like i'm choking constantly. they never tell you about this stuff. but its worth it

  • @AnaBanana311

my surgery was perfect. only took my doc 2 1/2 hrs. he told me it was a 4 to 5 hr surgery but w/e. recovering was good. no pain and i only got a bloody mouth if i looked up other then that no blood. i was freaking out cuz i couldnt breathe as soon as i got home from hospital but if you guys cant breathe after the surgery just take some Q tips and slowly clean ur nose and drag all the blood clots and mucus down. I did and instantly i could breathe sooooo much better!!!!

  • having 2 jaw surgery june 7. not really scared but more excited.

  • I need that surgery but is it really painful

  • First of all: CONGRATULATIONS! I can only imagine the pain!

I don't know if you will answer my questions, I pray to GOD that you will!

how was the pain managed? i imagine in the hospital, you were probably on a morphine drip. but, at home? what did your mom do? mash the pill with mortar in pistle and put them in your food?

how soon , were you able to move around the house, considering your pain was managed by medication?

what kind of surgeon performed the surgery? thanks

  • I had a two jaw surgery (top and bottom). I did not feel pain when I woke up. I was very tired and was just happy it was over. My biggest complaint was a THROAT ACHE, which lasted about a week, that's it. It's more of an uncomfortable process than painful.

  • few questions for you. what liquids did you have when you were on the liquids only portion post op? and how did you keep your mouth clean after teh surgery? lots of rinsing?

  • Today, its my turn.

  • i was watching guitar videos, how did i end up here?

  • I'm getting it this year, I'm 16. I'm worried I might lose too much weight because I am very tall and slim (5'10" tall and only about 117lbs) Also, I am getting all four wisdom teeth removed as well during my surgery. This is for a

  • Guys n girls,I had it done and the pain..there are no words for!!I lost about 3 stone BUT!! The end result is so worth it!everyday for the rest of your life youll be a different person!DO IT!

  • hi! in two weeks im getting this sugery done and i really would like to know how much weight you lost... im kind of afraid because im already skinny :S

    thx a lot :)

  • @johanitaLoca I had this surgery 12 days ago so far i have lost 15 pounds.... enjoy as much food as you can because its 6 weeks liquid diet...

  • @lovehindimovie Sorry if you already made your decision, but I think you should. I have never heard of an operation that didn't work.

  • @puddingworshipper Darn, I accidentaly posted this on my sisters account. Sorry for anyone whom reads this.

  • @lovehindimovie Sorry if you already made your desicion, but I think you should have the operation. Through all of the amazing recoveries I've seen, none of them have failed.

  • This spring i am fixing my underbite. Good to see some of other peoples surgerys. Im scared as hell xD though i dont have so much underbite..

  • Hey man whats up. I got mine done just last month December 13. It was about 3 weeks before i could do anything, however at this point im so hungry i had to eat lol. So i grinded up pasta and even a burger with some luqid and it works haha but other than that pure liquid diet i lost 25 lb so crazy. But glad it went good my underbite was about 8mm

  • very good clip

     thnks for prepare that....

  • Im having this surgery tomorrow morning..

  • @jakeskater95 I will keep you in my prayers<3

  • @raidedmepony Thank you soo much!<3 The surgery went great! I got out of the hospital then next afternoon. And Ive been feeling great ever since. The liquid diet isnt bad whatsoever, and Im already very satisfied with how I look. Thanks again (:

  • @jakeskater95 Aww! :) I'm happy to hear that! :P God is good. :)<3 Stay blessed! :D&&Welcome!!

  • @raidedmepony Indeed he is! :)

  • @jakeskater95 i feel so sorry for you

  • man im scared to do this surgery as hell, i dont wanna loose my face sensivity, its like beeing paralised, or how does it feels?

  • my nose wont quit bleeding pain meds help the pain but this fucken suckes just had my surgery like 3 days ago

  • I've got this opt tomorrow and weirdly enough my thoughts are, Bring it on!!

I'll regret saying that when I wake up.

  • Omg your face didn't swell half as much as mine did! Had it done in December 2008 when I was 18, was probably the best thing I ever did in my life (as a decision). My underbite wasn't huge but for a really out going person it had started to effect me.

Now people really comment on how good my teeth and smile are and is the best part about me lolol! Anyway how have you found it since? I still get some weird feelings on my top jaw even 2 years and my bottom jaw is still numb sometimes to touch...

  • i may have to get surgery like this because i have the same exact problem...does it hurt and were you scared?

  • To everyone reading, how long did you have your braces on before and after surgery?

  • @afb3199 Oh, that is a fantastic number! Maybe I will stay alive with my under bite right now. Although it's pain sometime, but it's fine for me. But jaw surgery is become my obsession. I hope someday it will happen to me.

  • How long did it take to get your energy back. I have heard that this surgery can wipe people out and it takes sometime to rebuild the stamina

  • Hello. Glad your surgery turned out great.

I just had my surgery 5 days ago. I'm currently still in hospital and will be discharged tomorrow.

One question I would like to know is , do you have to take out all the metal plates and screws after 1 year of surgery?

My surgeon told me that after 1 year from now I will need to come back for another operation just to remove the metal plates and screws.

  • Wow, I need to have this done

  • @joseaod15

    aint you scared ? :S

  • @ice678 A little bit, but I have my appointment for January already.

  • @joseaod15

i don't know if mine is bad to get a surgery... i should really like.. talk to a dentist, but i'm scared lol.. what a man myself...

  • i have to go back firefighting after week 2

  • did ur lower lip nd chin become numb ..>?? if so how long was it numb?

  • how long was the surgery

  • i have a few questions -

im 15, and i have an underbite, it makes me sad, cause it hurts sometimes just randoly, and looks so ugly.

i havnt had braces and really dont want them.

DOes the surgegry hurt alot ? is it worth it ? and wil i have to have braces as well as surgery ?

  • so what would a Overbite look like?? Im confusedd

  • plus its cosmetic

  • after seeing yours i've decided not to have jaw surgery done, there are numerous options to explore

  • @chazzychaz15 --I have a underbite, it can lead to headacks. You should have it done. Just a thought.

  • wow bro! I have a cross-bite / overbite that surgery will fix. the end result looks great. hope everything healed well. do you have any residual nerve damage almost 4 yrs later?

  • Wow! It's 3:35am in Toronto, Canada where I am right and I have to be at the hospital for 5:45am, my surgery is at 8am! My bottom jaw needs to be moved into place, (it's off to the left) and they need to bring my top jaw forward! This video REALLY calmed my nerves, thank you so much for posting it! You're lucky you had help from your Mom, mine has lung cancer and can't be there with me :( thanks again for posting the video and just had to let you know, your results are amazing!

  • Good job! ...also 1 week recovering right now here!

  • i have an underbite, and im havin surgery soon! i cant wait, it makes me really self-consious some days, i cant wait til its all sorted!

    amazing outcome btw ! :)

  • I had this surgery done last week to correct my overbite, except it involves both jaws and they removed a part of my lower jaw and had to remove a number of teeth while they were at it! I'm feeling pretty much like myself now apart from a dull ache and a lot of swelling! The worst part is not being able to eat proper food, it's driving me mad!

To those getting it done, don't worry about it, you hit a pretty bad bit on the day after the surgery, but just try to sleep through it :)

  • I'm supposed to have this done. Actually I was ready to get it done at 16, but some kid died from it, in the same hospital that I was going to get it done at. I'm scared, but I'm tired of having a bad looking smile.I got bullied for it all throughout school and I'm ready to fix this.

  • man i had this done just a month ago, i was a severe lvl 3 case, I see you had to eat using syringes too lol, it sucked huh

  • I'm so glad you made this video, because I'm having the same operation as you, I'm 13 so I don't have to have it till I've stopped growing. I've been really nervous about it, but this video made me feel less nervous, because the before and after results look really good, & so thanks for making this video! :)

  • I had this surgery five years ago. It was such a bitch to go through, but it was all worth it in the end.

  • damn did your mouth hurt when you woke up & stuuff? coz im gonna have jaw surgery to fix my overbite in december. , the after results looks good :)

  • I have to get mine done. I'm nervous

  • was it worth it?

  • i am going through this procedure next summer..and my insurance will cover it

  • Does a person going through this surgery have to wear the rubber bands? I know they are used to correct a minor bite but if you have a huge underbite, I would find it kinda pointless unless they are used to help align the teeth and put them in the correct angle. I'm just curious about the whole year of preparation. I got my braces 2 weeks ago. So I have a while until this. I'm just learning as much as i can beforehand

  • hey, how long did it take you to get back onto solids, im day 11 and eating noodles, fried rice and etc.

  • hi. are there some other advantages after the surgery aside from uhm...boosted self esteem?

  • @chrisgelb

Yes.. well for my case anyways. I have an underbite and need surgery.. it's not that severe or anything, but I do need surgery to correct it. If you live your whole life not having a properly aligned jaw, there could be risks. My ortho said her brother went without the surgery, and when he got old his mouth was a mess and he had some teeth missing.

  • @adiavoy thanks very much.

  • Oh boy, can't wait to get this done kinda. Being forced to do it by the parents. 7mm underbite plus a lot of other shenanigans going on. Process starts in 4 days. I might do this for memory's sake. lol. One question, after the surgery, if you are to have your mouth wired shut, do you have to keep clean using listerine or is there some method of keeping your teeth clean? lol.

  • @greggrapefruit Hey I got this surgery about 7 weeks ago, and the first week that I was wired shut they gave me a special type of mouth wash that i had it insert in my mouth with a syringe, and I was still able to brush my teeth but only the outside part with a REALLY soft tooth brush. But its not very fun lol. hope this helped!

  • im 13. im geting it around 15. i havent got my braces yettttt. ugh im scared. ths video or the comments didnt help at all. hahaha.

  • im 12. i have to get it wen im about 14 cuz i havent got the braces yet. dude. im scared shit less now (:

  • Hey first of all really helpful video. I had this same surgery done roughly 5 weeks ago and Im still a little fat faced, would you say by week 8 all your swelling was gone?

  • Did you regret doing the surgery while your pain was going through? Like a day after surgery? How bad did it hurt? I have an embarrassing underbite too. But my mom read an article about what can happen if plastic surgery goes wrong....

  • how much for that?

  • OH MY GOD I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER EVER DO THAT!!!!!!!

  • on day 8 of my surgery. its not to bad despite the craving for food. there is very little pain from this surgery. the hardest thing was trying to breathe the first 4 days, it kept me up but you just have to stay calm.

  • where have u done ur surgery?

  • How much?

  • hey i am getting it done in december ....how long did it take to recover before like you went back to school or work>

  • well done job.. thanks for sharing.. i watched your video many times prior to having my surgery.. and now mine all all done.. had it 9 days ago.. cant wait to see the final resaults of my apperiance!!

  • I may have to have a similar surgey done, and I was just wondering....How much pain...from 1 -10 is there? And also, from when you wake up, does the pain get worse, or better, or can it be worse some days than others?

I know the 'Does the pain get worse or better?' is a silly question...but I am kind of scared. Also, Were you scared before your surgery?

  • @CompletelyWierd heya, i had a surgery like this, but a little bit more intense, i had upper and lower jaw surgery..and they also had to reset my nose a little bit to the left.

in my experience, there was very little pain..because i couldn't feel my lower face for about 2 months, but all the feeling has come back now.. i can tell you more if you private message me if you want to know

  • To everyone posting: How long did you have to wear your braces after?

  • that is what they want me to do i say noi really dont want to go tru that and invisalign will not help eihter

  • aw... your mom is the sweetest...

  • Comment removed

  • did you lose any weight in the 6 weeks on diet?? im asking because i worked my ass of for my body,,and muscles.i still am, so i really want to know. thx upfront and ,,nice job on your operation.

  • I'm getting this next tuesday; I'm pumped for a sexy jawline (not to mention the opiates).

  • I have this surgery in 12 days.. pretty nervous about the pain... I can't take a lot of pain... ;( PS you look great... I shared your video with family and friends!!

  • You look amazing! I just had my done 4 weeks ago today, and I'm 45 years old!!!. It is hard the first week, but it does get better. I can't wait to see the "final " result. I can't believe how many people have had this procedure done.

  • I will be getting mine soon and I am sooo exited!! I think it'll be a good experience. I have never stayed at a hospital before, neither have I ever been severely sick. So it'd be interesting to see if mum feeds me and takes care of me.

the only thing I worry alot about is my studies. I will be in university first year this year. So I am dead worried about that. I know uni first year is dengerous. so my question is do you know how much or how badly if affects your education?

  • i had this surgery too i can totally relate to how you felt after... when i woke up in the hospital bed i felt terrible. i also made the mistake of getting my surgery a week before christmas...terrible terrible idea

  • Doesnt the liquid vicodin taste terrible?!?!?! That was the hardest to keep down for me. I had an over bite correctional surgery done june 27th 2009.

  • im 11 and my jaw is tottaly out of place as a underbite and i recently went to the dentist i also have 2 teeth that r above normal i am so scared because i do wanna get more pretty but i just dont wanna go through anything painfull of like that

  • thats amazing man! this video made me feel better. im on week one after surgery. got it done at Long Beach Memorial. and man, all this having your jaw wired together thing blows! im craving pizza and a cheeseburger

  • Great video. I'm getting my jaw surgery this summer, seeing this video about your experience with the procedure I can't wait to get my jaw done!

  • omg, watching ur video made more excited about mi own surgery im having on the 15th of this month!

  • Im about to have jaw surgery soon and ur vid was helpful! How was th pain after it? they done an amazing job!

  • u look great, congratz

  • I had a jaw surgery more than a year ago too. The first 3-4 days were pretty painful and annoying. But after that was over, I only had to worry about the swelling and not doing any demanding physical activity. In the end, when I saw the pictures of myself today and how I looked like before the surgery, I can easily say, it was worth it :)

  • You were cute before and you look great now.

  • It kind of seemed like you liked like a little kid at first from the swelling, how long till all of it went away?,im 5 weeks post-op and i think i still look a little swollen and childish and people have told me that i kind of look like a little kid now

  • I am on day 5 after surgery. the first 2 days are the worst. i had upper jaw and it bled a lot the first two days. not much pain because lots of pain medication. im still sooo swollen tho

  • Is the surgery free if you're getting it done when you're 15-16 years old?

  • im going for my surgery tomorrow and im kind of hella nervous

  • I'm having the same surgery TODAY. In a matter of hours and I'm having one SERIOUS panic attack, despite having surgeries numerous times before. But I wanna thank you for posting this. It helped ease the nerves. One of those, "They survived I'll survive!" moments. But the eating part? Yea that sucks.

And for those who wanted to know, apparently your nose will only bleed if they've moved the top jaw. Or so I was told.

  • how long did it take you guys to fully open your mouth its been 3 days since they unwired me but I cant only open it 1/3 of the way

  • fuk i hate surgeries

  • does your noes bleed a lot after you have this surgery? i noticed that in every video, their nose is bleeding...

so no pain AT ALL? no headache's?

  • my nose didn't bleed very much after the surgery. but there was pain and headaches.

  • @afb3199 where have you done ur surgery?

  • @marmarkokoko my nose bled with mine cuz of the anesthesia tube they had to stick down my nose to keep me asleep.

  • Omfg I'm like 438 more nervous now. I have to get this shit done to me next year :(

  • hi..i m going for this in coming 15days more...so exciting n nervous about it...i m waiting it for so long time...any tips for d preparations b4 the surgery?

  • Also you probably wont sleep the first couple of days because you are basically fighting to breathe, they were constantly checking my oxygen level, best advice is to EXPECT not to sleep, dont panic focus on relaxing while you breathe, after the 4th day, it gets better literaly every day...good luck to all

  • I had this surgery 7 weeks ago, still wired shut for 2 more weeks. There is no actual pain afterwards, just discomfort, the BIGGEST problem is the breathing while wired shut, This was a HUGE problem that peaks at about day 3-4. here is info

Dried blood in the nasal passages is best cleaned by spraying of saline spray and gentle suction with the bulb. Repeat this process as needed until nasal passages are free of dried blood.

Best advuce is to remain calm, any questions message me.

  • I am having mine done in a week and one day, I will have a 3 week break then i am write back into the spring semester of college. I am nervous. Any reconmendations besides not panicing?

  • Be prepared for absolute misery for the first couple days. I just had mine done wednesday (both lower and upper jaw) and the first day was definitely the worst, I was puking up tons of blood, felt like I couldn't breathe and ended up panicking more than once even though I knew what to expect. All I can really say is to just prepare yourself for the worst for the first few days and look forward to the outcome.

  • i has mine done wed as well. yesterday was my worst day. thats when i did my puking. are you really tired? i am soo tired.

  • Yeah I've been really tired yet it's hard to sleep because of all the congestion breathing has been the hardest thing for me lately. I did all my puking the first 2 days and haven't had a problem with that since then, just try not to swallow your phlegm because a lot of it is blood and that will upset your stomach, I know it's hard but try to spit up all the crap you feel in your throat.

  • im getting mine done in about a weeekk and im pretty iffy about it. :( kinda nervous!

  • i am happy for you good chance m y friend

  • Hey guys, I had it done 7 weeks ago, Im ok , it was tough at 1st, but im glad i did it. You can do it too.

    :) good luck

  • I'm getting my surgery on December 8th!!!

    I'm nervous :|

  • Good luck on your surgery today. Mines in a week and one day. any tips for me?
