  • I am going in a few weeks. Hope to get some good under water video.

  • ok thanks ill try to find some good snorkeling places off the barcelo. ill bring fins so i can keep up with the stingrays :)

  • wow how deep were u? i went here and were going again in may, i saw a few stingrays but i was only uo to my chest. i;ve always wanted to see sea turtles. your so lucky

  • @jordynheartsk8 This was in the bay nearest the Palace resort. It was probably about 15 feet deep here. I loved it here! Next time I will be spending even more time in the water! One stingray I saw was huge - about the size of a kitchen table! I hadn't taken my fins, so I couldn't keep up to it, but I tried. :) Also followed some squid and cuttle fish. It was an amazing place for snorkeling.

  • @JCVdude Is it safe to touch the fishes?

  • just stay away from the giant Manta Rays, Dude

  • @genie0390 I did see one. It was about the size of a kitchen table. It was about 20 feet away from me and when I tried to get closer to film it, it moved off very effortlessly. Hard to follow with now fins. lol I saw a few smaller ones in shallower water and then were fine. Resting on the bottom, and then would then just swim off. I would never try to touch any of the animals.

  • @JCVdude

touching a Manta Ray is not a concern, it's their tail that can be deadly especially if you find yourself over top, they can lash out with the tail and kill you

  • @genie0390 agree. I was snorkeling with a guide at one point, who was a national and had been snorkeling/free diving the reef for years. He interacted with a small spotted sting ray and basically taught me the importance is to not be threatening or agressive. Another national on another tour actually hand fed a sting ray that came to shore and then it lingered around the shore line moving in between myself and another woman, knee deep water. Again, we were not a threat in any way.

  • @JCVdude

good idea to always be not threatening or aggressive, but there have been a couple of rare cases where a Ray lashed out and killed for no apparent reasons!

always keep that in mind and take extra care

  • omg that is awesome! did u pet it ?

  • @danceluvr30 Couldn't get that close. I didn't have fins that day, and I was swimming like crazy trying to keep up!

  • @danceluvr30

    umm its a wild animal
