Isn't the coup in Honduras about Zelaya's plan to change the constitution? He wanted to rule another cadency and planned a public survey to support it. It is already called " a good coup" by Latin America's scholars like Caceres. Most likely it would become as far from democracy as it can after the change to the consitution.
Well this is just one of the all too many cases on our books of Americanism. The only way that we can fight this terrible debilitating social disease, is by informing the general public of its consequences, by showing young people that it's just not worth it. So please give generously to this address: The League for fighting the United States of America, 55 Lincoln House, Basil Street, London, SW3.
you gentiles are Pathetic Always take some jew and make him god or Messiah just like the jesus and kerl marx and know this noam chomsky did you ever wondering why is this all your biggst gods and messiah and your intellectuals from right and left are jewish and you wonder how we the jews call are self the chosen people dont diss this
comment in 100 yreas from know your kids will things that holly histroy just like your Fathers Though't even the arebs belive in a jewish idea of god
William Blum is also a good author if you like Chomsky. "Rogue State" and "Killing hope" are good reads. RS became famous after Osama bin Laden mentioned it.
@WingThaiJ All Bogdanor complains about is that Chomsky doesn't excoriate the other side (China, USSR, etc) as much as he does the US. The reason for that is simple: Chomsky can make a difference in the United States whereas rulers of countries where he does not live do not have any responsibility to answer to him.
@TheLibertarianzye Indeed. It is a shame you can't see past what FOX NEWS tells you. If there is anything to laught out loud about here is your ignorance.
Venezuela is doing much much better now.
We can't say the same about Honduras, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Haiti, etc... ( where the US still is deeply envolved )
This stupid blind whitis, who killed 3000 people here in the us? and if this people who killed 3000 people are terrorist who the fuck you whiti's are? if you went over to a country irak that had nothing to do with alqaeda and killed hundred of thousands of insent among children and woman, aren't you terrorists ''AMERICANS"?you are not even americans the real america is in center and south america in the us mostly live people who came from europe the same bloody murders that killed the indian ameri
Dr. Chomsky recently told Iranian TV that at the time the US invaded Afghanistan, they had no evidence that al Qaeda did 9/11. See my video "Chomsky on Faith-Based Wars and 9/11"
@brightsuperstition pompous - excessively elevated or ornate. windbag - a boring person who talks a great deal about uninteresting topics. Stupid people only praise this guy because of the way his opinions are expressed, not the message..
You still have yet to give me a single example of how he is "pompous" ("excessively elevated or ornate").
Also, your definition of "windbag" does not apply. He is boring only if you find facts and history to be boring. Is the history of Latin America and its relation to America's imperial projects "boring" or "uninteresting"? If you think they're uninteresting, that's your opinion. Countless think otherwise.
Oh, and "stupid people"? Really? Ad hominems everywhere...
TUC radio, Alternative Radio, org, Michael Parenti, Norman Finkelstein, Amira Haas, Jeff Halper, Anna Baltzer, Phyllis Bennis, Rashid Khalidi, Howard Zinn, John Pilger etc
.
Peace Propaganda and the Promised Land - Occupation 101
@ballsauce666 fine list. still sad to see radical radio. org has been "down for remodeling, no time line yet..." since around december 2010. i think it may be down for good, unfortunately.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this guy never has any solutions , he just always gripes about how bad the USA is- any retard can do that-why doesn't he go live in Cuba or Venezuela then? No system is Utopia, obviously he likes here it well enough(and the money he makes) or he would move . What a socialist turd he is.
He's stated before that he's proud of certain aspects of the US. I don't remember what, but maybe the principle of freedom of speech? He said he'd prefer to live in the US than other countries. Also, he happens to have US citizenship and has the right to petition the government and to vote. If not enough citizens agree with him, the policies of the country wont change and he can move to a country he believes has better policies. He says you must criticise those in power first.
@shooshmoglman Chomsky has much good information and analysis on many foreign policy issues; however take him with a grain of salt; he continues to ridicule those who argue that JFK was killed my an internal conspiracy of powers as well as those who question the official 9/11 conspiracy theory of the 20 or so Arabs with boxcutters crashing four airlines and killing over 3000 people.
@RPenta I don't think it's quite accurate to say he's ridiculed the people who hold those beliefs. At least, I certainly haven't seen it. It seems he just doesn't think conspiracy theories are worth the time and effort they require, as so little actually ever comes from them. He would say your time is better spent elsewhere dealing with the multitude of readily evident problems around us. Even if he was an ass about these things, it isn't enough to discount everything else the man says.
Latin America is beginning to develop since the US was so busy stealing and killing in the middle east, hope the US stay out. Hope Colombia kick them out as soon as possible.
@GanzLONDON Right!!!! I know see why the fuck we are in other countries!!!! Its fucking stupid and reckless!!!! Cant wait till the people in white house burn in hell!!!! Oh wait there already creating their own hell on earth!!!!! FUCK MY LIFE!!!!!!!! I cant wait till i rot above ground!!!!!An be returned to the mother of all......
@GanzLONDON Columbia may not kick the US out as soon as possible, but there new president surprisingly moving in that direction. Uribe's hand picked successor Santos, seemed to be profoundly moved at the funeral of former president of Argentina, Kirchner. Shortly after, the US and Venezuela both wanted the extradition of a drug trafficker. Santos decided to send the cartel leader to Chavez. Hopefully Columbia will move more towards its brother/sister nations in Latin America.
@GanzLONDON Correct, it's called the pink tide was was first iniciated by Hugo Chavez. With the except of Peru, Colombia and Chile, who are still US backed governments and submissive to the US.
All you mufka's: Now let's talk about painting pictures, you see... there's someone painting a picture in your minds eye, you are are not the painter, neither is your experience, the brush is held by someone else and you accept the image as reality. Get that and you'll get good without all the DoubleSpeak.
@FastingOnClowns Good luck even making any money the way you talk to people. You sound paranoid...almost like a Glenn Beck listener. Stop watching Fox News, it's damaged your brain.
@tstruss912 -- Mmmm... Hmmm... libertarian my ass, do you know your stupid ass gets more paranoid propaganda from watching 5 minutes of Chomsky than from any of the shills on Fox News? Poor, poor, child....
@FastingOnClowns Good God, you got some problems buddy. I don't know what happened to you in your life to make you so angry and paranoid but I wish you well in getting over whatever trauma you've lived through. Now I'm done talking to you, go vent on someone else if you must.
Chomsky the murmuring idiot... and limey socialist idiots all in the same sugary cereal box for all you kids to rot your teeth on! Now that's mufk'n RICH!!! Peace. --FOC
@FastingOnClowns Idiot? Wow, resorting to name calling...sad. What are you so mad about? You seem very emotional which makes you an easy target. I wonder who has been pushing the buttons that are so easily seen. Chomsky tries to help, is that so horrible? I don't agree with everything he says either but so what. He's a good person and he has his opinions. This is still America right? It's starting to seem alot like Nazi Germany, I should know my grandparents were Nazi's.
@FastingOnClowns No actual arguments huh, thought so. Just more name calling. Did you grow up in poverty? Did your parents leave you at an early age? You reek of emotional issues. I wish you the best of luck with them. Peace.
@tstruss912 -- Matter of fact you Silver Spoon mufka, I did, you got a problem with poor people bitch? Just like a leftist elitist mufka, all walking around like their so mufkn' above everybody, putting all my brothers and sisters on welfare to keep them in check, to morally degrade, to pimp them. What happened to that leftist compassion for the poor and the downtrodden?!?! Oh that's right ya'll only play that shit when you want to enslave people. Come at me bitch, I'll school your ass!
@FastingOnClowns LoL, I was just fucking with you man. For the record I grew up in Clairemont, San Diego (not silverspoon), and I'm a libertarian (not liberal). My aunt grew up poor in South Africa under apartheid and I got to hear all about it when I lived with her for a year. So that's at least part of why I hate, as Chomsky does, white people fucking with every brown person that "needs help" or "is a real threat". Look at what American policy did in Guatemala, I'm serious, look.
@tstruss912 -- Mmmm... Hmmm... whatever you say Mr. Taqiyya... white, black, and brown liberal fascists want to think they can fix everything for everyone.... of which Chomsky is the biggest squirrely mufkn' idiot of them all.
The road to serfdom is paved with good intentions.
@FastingOnClowns I agree that the road to serfdom is paved with good intentions. I normally say: good intentions - truth < 0. But that's my point. All these US interventions cost us hundreds of billions per year. But let me guess you don't agree with that either. You don't agree with anything anyone ever says, right. Or is that wrong? How do you suppose we help our economy, international image, and communities. What are your solutions? Dazzle us Mr. الله
And cut this SUPERIOR RACE bullshit, you sound too much like a NAZI !
Given proprer funding ( through robbing other nations from its resources, or by genocide , both of them witch you did and still do ) any human can achieve wonders.
Check out who invented all the machines in the Industrial Revolution. Brits since we had such a huge empire stealing and killing and robbing everybody else. No wonder other nations couldn't compete. We were killing the competition literally just like you do now.
@GanzLONDON If nature is balance, then you admit it's a Zero Sum Game. As such, what's wrong with Americans looking out for our own FIRST, and lesser countries if there's anything left?
I agree with a struggle for justice, but that would also mean punishing lesser countries when they misbehave, but that would be "cruel" or "Against the Rules" or some bullshit like that!
@GanzLONDON Lesser countries would be the ones that make nothing but more of themselves, then bitch that there's a "Conspiracy" to keep them poorer than the countries that actually make something USEFUL.
Compare Japan to Mexico. Same population, Mexico has a few handicaps, like MORE land area, MORE natural resources, so why did Japan become a First World powerhouse AFTER being nuked into submission, while Mexico is essentially the real-world version of the Mook Maker from GAUNTLET?
@EPGAH Do you know that who invented the first airplane was a brazilian ? And the telephone was an Italian ? What do you know about their culture to say those countries don't do nothing. Iran and Irak are far richer than US will ever be able to be culture wise. They are the basis of human civilization. China, Japan, Russia... they have created more amazing stuff than you can ever imagine since you only believe what FOX tells you. you have being brainwhashed my friend.
@GanzLONDON Wright was a Brazilian? And Bell was Italian?
Well, regardless what they USED to be, they didn't invent those until they came to AMERICA, because their own countries wouldn't LET them...Or whatever.
As to culture, you're half right, we had our own polyglot culture, but had to damp that down so that newcomers, legal or otherwise, wouldn't be "OFFENDED"
Did you visit that Site I sent you, "5 Reasons Americans Are So Rude"?
@EPGAH check out the facts... Santos Dummont a Brazilian who flew around Eiffel Tower in a controlled flight long before the wright brothers manage to glide.
And Bell made his phone 10 years later. but he was a cheat and patented first.
Just like the human genoma. You guys patent things and think you created.
@GanzLONDON Dirigibles don't count, they're considered a "Lighter Than Air" craft.
He flew a balloon around the Eiffel Tower, without doing a Hindenberg...Great!
The money to do so was because his father was a successful COFFEE PLANTATION OWNER, who "Made extensive use of American Labor-Saving Devices" to become the "King Of Coffee"! Who's lazy, again, I forgot?
Or does "Labor Saving Device" mean something different to you?
@GanzLONDON Yes, and when we use our brilliance, our technological edge, OTHER nations accuse US of cheating. Remember the hubbub about the Velcro-manufactured "Sharkskin" worn by the Olympic Swim Team?
I would think using professionals in the Olympics would be automatic, send out our BEST and BRIGHTEST!
@EPGAH About the olympics. or any sport for that matter. few things.
It is a athletic event. So the body should provide the diference not the gear you wear.
Americans and British are famous for steroid abuse. Our technological edge give us that too. Still is cheating.
About professionals in the olympics. you can have your opnion, but was never an issue prior from losing in basket. Changing the rules to win is cheating.
And professionals don't need incentive, amateurs do.
@GanzLONDON I'm not really into sports, but at what point did they decide they SHOULDN'T have pros in the Olympics? The original idea of teh Olympics was to have players worthy of the Gods, remember?
And it's not just Americans cheating, the last time, IIRC, it was Russians bribing the French Judge.
I can't agree with the body thing, because that's too random, random mosaic of genetics, upbringing, injuries, etc. I believe in the Power of Technology
@GanzLONDON The problem with "empires" is that they get complacent, not that they get greedy, and lose their Hungry Edge. Look at our wars:
We kicked British ass at the height of their power--TWICE! We kicked Mexico's ass, Germany TWICE--and the second time, Germany was THE power in the region--Crushed Japan's "Superiority Complex"...Then we started trying to play "fair", and started LOSING!
@GanzLONDON Dad posits 1965 as the end of America, the rest is just aftershocks, I posit 1986...Either way, once we decided to limit ourselves to play "fair", OF COURSE THE ENEMIES BEAT OUR ASSES!
We stopped using Napalm and Airstrikes in Vietnam because it wasn't "fair", and our halfass attack on Iraq--TWICE--is the stuff of legend. America's trying to COOPERATE with the Afghan "Government", even though they're part of the problem...We need to go back to WINNING, don't oyu think?
@GanzLONDON I said sure...and you might get your Wish sooner than later, check what China's doing in Africa--or their loansharking with America! China is much more likely to KILL than to subjugate, let alone fund. Unlike America, China NEVER gives anything out without expecting--and getting--more back!
America has become easy to manipulate with guilt-trips, whether by Mexicans, Africans, even Indians...All of whom are ungrateful for the Better Life America ALREADY provides, they want MORE!
@EPGAH Who tells you all this horrible things about the Chinese ? The TV I suppose. The greatest thing they created was a WALL to prevent outsiders from attacking them. They were killed by the thousands by the japanese empire.
@GanzLONDON No, my history book, and BBC, and friends I have in Russia, Sweden, the UK...China DID protect themselves from invasion by a wall, but they didn't GUARD the wall, so the Mongols invaded and took over anyways. The tech difference was so great, the Mongols semi-civilized, using the extra "technology" to make a bigger empire--which fell apart once the Strong Man In Charge DIED!
China attacked Japan, then Japan did the same but WORSE back to China in WWII!
@GanzLONDON It was before WWII. Sadly, I'm too young to know what happened before then, but consider the architectural similarities, even the character-set in their alphabets. That kind of similarity doesn't just HAPPEN, it was either spread through trade or force.
China and Japan had a traditional Hate-Hate relationship...I don't know why, and I don't really care, but it's probably age-old war-scars!
@GanzLONDON Open a History Book made sometime before 1983. You'll be surprised how much bigger it is, and how much more info it can contain. Newer history books are "simplified" so that people of lesser cultures in America can understand them better, rather than forcing them to learn "all them big words". This, of course, exacerbates America's rep in the world as some kind of idiots...
@EPGAH By the way did you watch LOOSE CHANGE the documentary about 9 11.
By the way you talk. You didn't and hated. But information is information.
That is not FICTIONAL like Indiana Jones, and other Hollywood movies such as IRON MAN. that portraits a reality that doesn't actually has to be accurate.
@EPGAH I happen to have studied KUNG FU with a chinese master for 5 years.
And the respect and the culture are so amazingly rich and refined.
I always told my master that I didn't wanna use Kung Fu for attack. He said I didn't have too. Kung Fu was more of a philosophy than a weapon.
He said something like: " It can be a weapon against someone attacking you. But it is primarily a tool that we use to better ourselves as human beings. "
@EPGAH Talking about your beliefs and the beliefs of your nation being not necessarily the same. What makes you think you know what the elite of your country realy is all about ? Do you believe in the "FREE PRESS" ( owned by them ). That control every single word spoken.
Come on !
Check out a news outlet that is not privatly owned for a change. And you will get a very different picture from the one Corporate America wants you to see.
@GanzLONDON Africa has fantastic natural resources, but they don't know what to DO with it! AND new UN laws will prevent anyone from buying Africa's resources because it funds bloody terrorist groups down there. Note that we (America) are not going in and CRUSHING the Civil Wars like we did in Latin America, Europe is wringing their hands, but doing nothing about it...And China is stirring it up WORSE, to get the valuable resources!
@EPGAH UN laws are a joke. UN is controlled by the US coporations ( the rich guys ) that control the US gov.
Those bloody terrorist groups that you mention so heartfelt are all produced by CIA and NSA, you know that. Who provide the guns. You need open your eyes to what is happening in the world. You take everything chomsky says as crap even before you listen to them. but they are far from being so.
And stop watching so much TV. or talking to people that take info out of TV only.
@EPGAH Is it ok if a creat a weapon and start killing everyone and distroying every culture in the planet. All of them very rich by the way. with huge amonts of knoledge.
Just because my stick is bigger ?
Would not be stupid of me ? I mean everybody knows BIODIVERSITY is a good thing. we don't see how is beneficial directly. but it is.
I have this passion for Brazil where they have so many cultures mixing living togheter for mutual benefit. Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva, etc..
@GanzLONDON Huge Knowledge is kind of a misnomer, if they had Huge Knowledge, they'd use it to save themselves...Or do you TRULY want me to believe that there is a country on Earth that is too Kind&Gentle to fight back, even though they have MORE than enough firepower to?
Oh, wait, I just described our situation with Mexico.
I have a question for you: Is it OK for Mexico to invade America WITHOUT declaring war, and trash our side of the border the way they did theirs?
@GanzLONDON Actually, it was a joint US-British effort to mine in Mexico, and hired Mexicans to boot! BUT that wasn't good enough, Mexico wanted to nationalize it.Nationalize means that the nation is supposed to TAKE CONTROL. In recent years, it means bailout.
I don't blame the illegals for EVERYTHING, but now that Americans are getting desperate for JOBS, we need to boot the illegals to help our own people.
And actually, after the corporations were bailed out, they made OBSCENE Profits!
@EPGAH Now we are talking the same language. thankfully. I knew we could agree on things. We are humans. We all want the same.
I have south american friends that all tell me how they hate american companies. That don't allow them to develop. Just like the british didn't want the americans to develop. so is a constant struggle.
Why doesn't everyone stay on their own countries ? companies and people ?
If America is so great why their companies don't stay inside ?
@GanzLONDON What those nations forget, though, is that because the American Corporations pay more than local employers--if only barely--it causes inflation in their country, until they can no longer afford their own country, PLUS since the whole basis of their contract is undercutting American workers, they can't raise prices, or someone ELSE will undercut THEM!
@GanzLONDON Basically, they want the taxpayers to pay the losses, but pocket their own profits...In a videogame that would be called a God Mode, or something similar.
Why are there so many poor people--resisting birth-control--on Mexico's side of the border? Mexico is host to the world's RICHEST MAN, Carlos Slim, and they push their poor into America, so they don't have to deal with the inconvenience of a welfare system, or the social problems huge numbers of poor people can cause!
Funny how you quote the G20 and what China said as such a FINAL proof that they are EVIL. Since this has been for AGES the OPEN POLICY of the US government. Since its birth.
Recently US military base in Equator was kicked out of the country. The president said. " So you think is ok for you to have a military base here, ok then... you can keep your here if we can have one of ours in Florida ".
Why is that other nations can not act the same way US does ?
@GanzLONDON Well, I don't know how the police work where you are, but here, there's a certain...Let's call it "Exclusivity of Force". If I pull a gun on someone, it's a crime, UNLESS they're actually IN my house (By which time, it's pretty much too late, isn't it?) But if cops pull a gun on someone, it's called "Compliance Call", AKA "Stop Or I'll Shoot!" I assume it works the same way between nations.
@EPGAH Also this great modern world that you seem so proud of. Is also not sustainable.
If everysingle human being was to live like an american ( and let's say there was only a billion people in the planet ) since you think overpopulation is such a big problem. ( I know TV says so ).
@GanzLONDON Obama has closed 120 US bases, for a "savings" of .6% Divide that out, and that's .005% PER BASE, which isn't pocket CHANGE, it's pocket LINT! Worse, not only are MORE Americans out of jobs, but the people in those countries lose the jobs--and money spent by soldiers there too!
The reason Corporations go to other countries? The other countries offer a better Deal, no EPA, cheaper workers, no taxes...They essentially whore out their own countries and resources for money!
@EPGAH you don't see that corporations are just like a virus, they get bigger and stronger by killing what they have sucked dry. See Detroit or Flint.
Is not sustainable. see "the CORPORATION" movie.
They also destroy what you "sickly" call lesser countries' economies. by sending all the profits they make to the US. Making the US elite richer. The middle class out of jobs and the poor poorer.
They force other countries to accept their terms or COUP them. With the helping hand of CIA
@GanzLONDON NAFTA was accepted by Mexico, and I didn't see Clinton holding a gun, a blade, or even a root-vegetable to Vincente Fox's head. He could've said no, but the cartoon-dollarsigns in his eyes were too big!
Mexico doesn't give a damn about the Mexicans, but they give even LESS of a damn about the Americans--and they won't let America kill or beat the invaders, like Mexico does to the Guatemalans. Imagine being a Mexican TO a Mexican!
@GanzLONDON They're destroying every place they enter, and despite our Huge Knowledge, America is not allowing itself to fight back out of "Fairness", just because Mexico has--or IS?--a bigger dick and can outbreed the Civilized World, should they?
I could show you vids on YouTube, but that doesn't NEARLY do justice, you'd need to come over and take a look at Commercial Street.
Diversity IS a good thing, but to allow something in just because it's "different" is suicidal.
@EPGAH Who do you mean by "we". Do you mean America, the elite and their corporations, ordinary people like you and me? I read all of your back and forth in here with ganzLONDON and I would like to appeal to your right wing sentiments. Isn't all this "bringing freedom" and "protecting America" the exact opposite of what Jesus would have wanted? Isn't 400 billion (compare to 70 billion for education) way too much to spend on it? How would you feel if I aggressively interfered in your life?
If I were waving a gun around, threatening everyone, like North Korea is with their newfound nuclear "Muscle", I would certainly expect someone to interfere "aggressively". What would you do if a retard was shooting a loaded gun in a crowded area>
If I was beating or raping children, I hope to God someone would interfere as "aggressively" as possible.
I admit, law "oppresses" people who make the WRONG choices.
@tstruss912 I've already said Corporations have made this war way too expensive by building WHILE we're destroying!
And more insidiously, the Corporations push "rules" that cut our war effort off at the knees (Or perhaps the balls?), in the name of "Playing Fair", but despite all this high-sounding bullshit, the end-result is just an endless stalemate.
Some even claim that sanctions--like "grounding" a nation--kill more than the war!
@tstruss912 I believe that the Corporations have helped spread the evil Multiculturalism bullshit, because a weakened, accepting, submissive--dare I say feminized?--culture BREEDS (and I emphasize that word) people who consume/accept/expect, rather than build for themselves and stand up for themselves when they see something hugely wrong.
@tstruss912 Also, what about the "interference" of Foreign Aid? America is preventing Darwin from controlling the overpopulation of Third World countries, but that is expected, even DEMANDED of us, and we're racists if/when we quit...the only "interference" they bitch about is when we try to punish them for something they're doing!
Or do you believe America has some kind of "duty" to support cultures that Epic Failed due to decisions they made in the past/present?
@EPGAH In the case of North Korea I think we should put sanctions on them and keep some nukes pointed that way. Hell no to foreign aid! Well, not if it means enabling type behavior. At most we should help countries learn how to run their society themselves, but before we even consider that we must fix America! Oh, and ya we have been feminized here. I lived in Switzerland for two years and there are much sharper gender-roles, and the media seems much more free..but still controlled.
@tstruss912 You're right about Foreign Aid, we've become the Great Enabler, as well as the Great Satan, and the scum who live close enough to America to break in, can just STEAL the ULTIMATE Bailout for themselves and the kids they couldn't afford and shouldn't have produced in the first place!
Of course, people who want Foreign Aid cut are called "racist", but that word has been overused and is rightfully losing power. Some are concerned that China might takeover those countries, (continued)
@tstruss912 I say, "Let them!" China's a burgeoning economy with few parasites, and they have delusions of being a superpower. It would be UNETHICAL to conceal from them the downside of being a superpower, namely that everyone wants something from you, and are your "friend" only so long as you provide what they want! (And in the case of America, not even that long, there's a SNOPES article about countries voting against us in the UN WHILE RECEIVING FOREIGN AID!)
@tstruss912 Also, I don't think sanctions would work against NK, due to China again.
China was willing to brace America to keep funding Iran, when Obama, in an uncharacteristically ballsy move, threatened sanctions. How much MORE, then, would they be willing to brace us to keep supporting their unstable, retarded protege and the country he leads?
Right now, in the UN Security Council, China SINGLEHANDEDLY blocks all the other countries from taking punitive action against North Korea!
@tstruss912 America has a SPECIAL reason to hate North Korea, though, in that Clinton made a Devil's Bargain with them, offering them food, in exchange for NOT developing a nuke. Instead, they took that food and kept the scientists fed while they developed the nuke they promised NOT to! In essence, Americans' generous nature was exploited to subsidize the development of their nuke, with or without China's "help". They may be starving, but now they can blackmail the world into feeding them!
@EPGAH If I read your posts correctly, I hope I do, then your main concern is our white-water speed drifting from classic American values. The erosion of values like: hard work, standing up for yourself, taking care of your own first, etc. can easily be traced to one source....(drumroll) the media! To even start addressing the problems in our country we need two things to happen. Democratize banking and democratize the media. Americans don't even want the values being pushed in the media.
@tstruss912 Yes, that's it exactly, about the erosion of values, let alone the ability of Americans to stand up for ourselves, and denouncing the idea of taking care of our own first as somehow selfish&racist.
For instance, right now, Americans are being derided as selfish and racist for trying to block the creation of a Moslem edifice near 9/11 Ground Zero by an Imam who is known to be a slumlord and has prior convictions.
But it's "brave" for Moslems to kill Americans in THEIR country! WTF?
@DerEchteSenf I'm talking about the pride America used to have in ourselves, our culture, our country, our capabilities. Impossible was for other countries. We explored, we innovated, we built, we thrived!
We established in 230 years what other countries took millennia to do, and some never DID accomplish!
As JFK said, "We choose to do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard"
Now we seem to be paralyzed by concern for what other cultures will think or whatever...
@EPGAH Established in 230 years by people that came from countries that were millenias old, and constructed the government and constitution etc on borrowing from ideas as far back as the Athenians. Now there was a people that did some serious legwork that helped all of us to excel in modern times, science, math, philosophy you name it.
@Tyrfingr Yes, but again, we exceeded our forbears, and indeed all other countries in the world at the time, and arguably now, and all we get for it is arguments that we "owe" lesser countries handouts, and/or to let their rejects overpopulate our country, rather than taking only the ones we WANT, as every sovereign country has a right to...
As to that, though, other countries could remake themselves based on US and succeed the way we did, rather than mooch off us, right?
@EPGAH I'm not sure that there is such a succeess next to our forebears to be fair. If you look at it, the only thing we have excelled in is money making and creating a headless materialistic ideology. Compare their quality of art, litterature, statesmen (founding fathers) and philosophy to our modern equivalences. It quickly turns out that we produce much less than even half-measures by comparison. We have a better widespread education, but even that is institustionalized to produce drones.
@Tyrfingr Before you bring up that America is somehow more militant than other countries, look back at Greece's example--or any other--and find that their cultural and Alexander the Great's Claim to Fame was literally conquering the known world. But even without that, they could've never excelled in science, math, philosophy, or any other non-survival subject if they didn't have a strong military protecting their treasure trove...Sparta took it to excess, but even THAT turned out necessary!
@EPGAH Don't get me wrong im not another anti-American. I was just pointing out that nothing ever comes out of nothing, we are all where we are as a result of others in history and present collaboration, trade and exchange in tech and science you name it. The point with the Greeks particulary the Athenians was the foundation laid out by them that modelled the future and present social political constructs. Alexander was Macedonian ;), Athens was the most civilized of the Greek states.
@Tyrfingr Well we agree. The archeological discoveries until now show that Macedonians were Greeks. That's aslo the point of view of the ancient Roman historians as well as the Greek ones.By the way i am a 3rd year student of history and archeology at Aristotle's University of Thessalonica.
@AthrihosPithekos Just at the outer edges too, the countries like Albania has made claims that Macedon was a part of their country. Which is of course ludicrous, but it's not more than one can expect when national pride gets mixed into historical debates. Are you a student of philosophy on your sparetime as well ?
@12107170 I don't believe much in taking dogmatic sides in either direction, i prefer to look at things realistically. And i agree with Chomsky on the point that we should apply the ancient saying "know thyself" to ourselves not just personally, but on the nation as a whole before we start praising ourselves too much, or criticizing others.
We are being pushed into believing and voting for things that are against our own best interest. My idea is as follows: State banking reform for all states (similar to North Dakota), then when that is complete reform at the federal level. When the elite are reeling from this defeat, then the media can be diversified via anti-trust laws. After that implement a MANDATORY citizens militia to keep the elite scared. Then we can actually hear real American values on the news, and movies, etc.
And the "playing fair" bull is just to extend the war to make money. Most people don't know that we had all kinds of "playing fair" rules in Vietnam. But hey, who cares, it only cost tens of thousands of brave lives, not to mention civilians. If I could go on a journey to the moon with some of these corporate psycos I think their space-suits might "accidentally" get punctured. If you haven't seen it there is a good doc called "I, psychopath". That shows the true nature of these people.
@tstruss912 I know, LBJ picked targets personally, but pursued a strategy of ESCALATION, rather than EXTERMINATION, because his wife was head of a Corporation that transported the troops and their supplies. That presumably benefited him as well...Don't know if DC is a Community Property State.
More recently a pharmacist in Kansas City was arrested for diluting chemotherapy pills, selling more than TWICE as many as he bought. The difference is degree, not type!
@tstruss912 There's also the "Little Matter" of Pakistan accepting BILLIONS from America--and using some of that money to puppeteer the Taliban! Protecting and cultivating our enemy should make them our enemy too, right?
As to the Feminization bit, I wasn't just talking about blurring gender roles, I was talking about our whole culture tolerating what's wrong, instead of fighting against it, and the way men are portrayed as--and encouraged to be--weak spineless emotional idiots!
@tstruss912 Look around, take any commercial, the man in it is shown as so stupid you hope the Men In White come to reclaim him...Or THE biggest selling movie of all time is AVATAR, where betraying your whole PLANET--not your nation, your race, or even your species--is an Heroic Act! Wait, I thought traitors were supposed to "Get It" in a Double Plus Ungood way, by some random act of environment if the Hero was Too Good to kill him?!
Or shiny/whiny Vampires upstaging badasses like BLADE?
@tstruss912 We're also no longer allowed to see any more than kissing onscreen, people have sex with their clothes ON, gunfights no longer leave corpses, and we have to damp down our culture to avoid "offending" invaders who who have a different culture, rather than DEMANDING they adapt to US! This weakening is an outgrowth of the "Try New Things" mentality, making us better consumers, but also making us VERY ripe for conquest...by the Moslems, Mexicans or any other fast-breeding invaders!
@tstruss912 PS, we also have to rewrite our history books to make the losers of history not look AS epic of fail as they really were, to avoid offending their descendants.
Some particularly "unpleasant" bits of history are being excised wholesale, and the modern "History Book" is thinner than my PC Gamer 200th Anniversary Issue, while my old one is a Mighty Tome, something akin to a hardcover phone-book!
I know he who COMMANDS the past controls the future, but what about he who ERASES it?
Isn't the coup in Honduras about Zelaya's plan to change the constitution? He wanted to rule another cadency and planned a public survey to support it. It is already called " a good coup" by Latin America's scholars like Caceres. Most likely it would become as far from democracy as it can after the change to the consitution.

Well this is just one of the all too many cases on our books of Americanism. The only way that we can fight this terrible debilitating social disease, is by informing the general public of its consequences, by showing young people that it's just not worth it.

RPenta 1 year ago
@RPenta I don't think it's quite accurate to say he's ridiculed the people who hold those beliefs. At least, I certainly haven't seen it. It seems he just doesn't think conspiracy theories are worth the time and effort they require, as so little actually ever comes from them. He would say your time is better spent elsewhere dealing with the multitude of readily evident problems around us. Even if he was an ass about these things, it isn't enough to discount everything else the man says.

Nature is balance and justice. therefore the struggle for justice will never die.
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON If nature is balance, then you admit it's a Zero Sum Game. As such, what's wrong with Americans looking out for our own FIRST, and lesser countries if there's anything left?

Compare Japan to Mexico. Same population, Mexico has a few handicaps, like MORE land area, MORE natural resources, so why did Japan become a First World powerhouse AFTER being nuked into submission, while Mexico is essentially the real-world version of the Mook Maker from GAUNTLET?

EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH About the olympics. or any sport for that matter. few things.
It is a athletic event. So the body should provide the diference not the gear you wear.
Americans and British are famous for steroid abuse. Our technological edge give us that too. Still is cheating.
About professionals in the olympics. you can have your opnion, but was never an issue prior from losing in basket. Changing the rules to win is cheating.
And professionals don't need incentive, amateurs do.
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON I'm not really into sports, but at what point did they decide they SHOULDN'T have pros in the Olympics? The original idea of teh Olympics was to have players worthy of the Gods, remember?
And it's not just Americans cheating, the last time, IIRC, it was Russians bribing the French Judge.
I can't agree with the body thing, because that's too random, random mosaic of genetics, upbringing, injuries, etc. I believe in the Power of Technology
EPGAH 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON The problem with "empires" is that they get complacent, not that they get greedy, and lose their Hungry Edge. Look at our wars:
We kicked British ass at the height of their power--TWICE! We kicked Mexico's ass, Germany TWICE--and the second time, Germany was THE power in the region--Crushed Japan's "Superiority Complex"...Then we started trying to play "fair", and started LOSING!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON Dad posits 1965 as the end of America, the rest is just aftershocks, I posit 1986...Either way, once we decided to limit ourselves to play "fair", OF COURSE THE ENEMIES BEAT OUR ASSES!
We stopped using Napalm and Airstrikes in Vietnam because it wasn't "fair", and our halfass attack on Iraq--TWICE--is the stuff of legend. America's trying to COOPERATE with the Afghan "Government", even though they're part of the problem...We need to go back to WINNING, don't oyu think?

And the respect and the culture are so amazingly rich and refined.
I always told my master that I didn't wanna use Kung Fu for attack. He said I didn't have too. Kung Fu was more of a philosophy than a weapon.
He said something like: " It can be a weapon against someone attacking you. But it is primarily a tool that we use to better ourselves as human beings. "

EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH You must do some research dude. IS BP a Mexican company ?
Did they get the permission to drill from the MEXICAN gov ?
you are talking nonsense. they don't trash shit on their side of the border.
you got there, and since you don't respect them as humans ( racism ) you do what "F" ever you like. SEE NAFTA.
Have you heard about lobbing in the US senate.
You don't even have democracy anymore.
Capitalism is for the poor, not for the rich SEE BAIL OUT.
but you blame the imigrantes. LOL
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON Actually, it was a joint US-British effort to mine in Mexico, and hired Mexicans to boot! BUT that wasn't good enough, Mexico wanted to nationalize it.Nationalize means that the nation is supposed to TAKE CONTROL. In recent years, it means bailout.
I don't blame the illegals for EVERYTHING, but now that Americans are getting desperate for JOBS, we need to boot the illegals to help our own people.
And actually, after the corporations were bailed out, they made OBSCENE Profits!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH Now we are talking the same language. thankfully. I knew we could agree on things. We are humans. We all want the same.
I have south american friends that all tell me how they hate american companies. That don't allow them to develop. Just like the british didn't want the americans to develop. so is a constant struggle.
Why doesn't everyone stay on their own countries ? companies and people ?
If America is so great why their companies don't stay inside ?
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON What those nations forget, though, is that because the American Corporations pay more than local employers--if only barely--it causes inflation in their country, until they can no longer afford their own country, PLUS since the whole basis of their contract is undercutting American workers, they can't raise prices, or someone ELSE will undercut THEM!
EPGAH 1 year ago

GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON Well, I don't know how the police work where you are, but here, there's a certain...Let's call it "Exclusivity of Force". If I pull a gun on someone, it's a crime, UNLESS they're actually IN my house (By which time, it's pretty much too late, isn't it?) But if cops pull a gun on someone, it's called "Compliance Call", AKA "Stop Or I'll Shoot!" I assume it works the same way between nations.
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH Also this great modern world that you seem so proud of. Is also not sustainable.
If everysingle human being was to live like an american ( and let's say there was only a billion people in the planet ) since you think overpopulation is such a big problem. ( I know TV says so ).
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON Obama has closed 120 US bases, for a "savings" of .6% Divide that out, and that's .005% PER BASE, which isn't pocket CHANGE, it's pocket LINT! Worse, not only are MORE Americans out of jobs, but the people in those countries lose the jobs--and money spent by soldiers there too!
The reason Corporations go to other countries? The other countries offer a better Deal, no EPA, cheaper workers, no taxes...They essentially whore out their own countries and resources for money!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH you don't see that corporations are just like a virus, they get bigger and stronger by killing what they have sucked dry. See Detroit or Flint.
Is not sustainable. see "the CORPORATION" movie.
They also destroy what you "sickly" call lesser countries' economies. by sending all the profits they make to the US. Making the US elite richer. The middle class out of jobs and the poor poorer.
They force other countries to accept their terms or COUP them. With the helping hand of CIA
GanzLONDON 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON NAFTA was accepted by Mexico, and I didn't see Clinton holding a gun, a blade, or even a root-vegetable to Vincente Fox's head. He could've said no, but the cartoon-dollarsigns in his eyes were too big!
Mexico doesn't give a damn about the Mexicans, but they give even LESS of a damn about the Americans--and they won't let America kill or beat the invaders, like Mexico does to the Guatemalans. Imagine being a Mexican TO a Mexican!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@GanzLONDON They're destroying every place they enter, and despite our Huge Knowledge, America is not allowing itself to fight back out of "Fairness", just because Mexico has--or IS?--a bigger dick and can outbreed the Civilized World, should they?
I could show you vids on YouTube, but that doesn't NEARLY do justice, you'd need to come over and take a look at Commercial Street.
Diversity IS a good thing, but to allow something in just because it's "different" is suicidal.
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH Who do you mean by "we". Do you mean America, the elite and their corporations, ordinary people like you and me? I read all of your back and forth in here with ganzLONDON and I would like to appeal to your right wing sentiments. Isn't all this "bringing freedom" and "protecting America" the exact opposite of what Jesus would have wanted? Isn't 400 billion (compare to 70 billion for education) way too much to spend on it? How would you feel if I aggressively interfered in your life?
tstruss912 1 year ago
@tstruss912 Sorry for my late response.
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 I've already said Corporations have made this war way too expensive by building WHILE we're destroying!
And more insidiously, the Corporations push "rules" that cut our war effort off at the knees (Or perhaps the balls?), in the name of "Playing Fair", but despite all this high-sounding bullshit, the end-result is just an endless stalemate.
Some even claim that sanctions--like "grounding" a nation--kill more than the war!

EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 I believe that the Corporations have helped spread the evil Multiculturalism bullshit, because a weakened, accepting, submissive--dare I say feminized?--culture BREEDS (and I emphasize that word) people who consume/accept/expect, rather than build for themselves and stand up for themselves when they see something hugely wrong.
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 Also, what about the "interference" of Foreign Aid? America is preventing Darwin from controlling the overpopulation of Third World countries, but that is expected, even DEMANDED of us, and we're racists if/when we quit...the only "interference" they bitch about is when we try to punish them for something they're doing!
Or do you believe America has some kind of "duty" to support cultures that Epic Failed due to decisions they made in the past/present?
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH In the case of North Korea I think we should put sanctions on them and keep some nukes pointed that way. Hell no to foreign aid! Well, not if it means enabling type behavior. At most we should help countries learn how to run their society themselves, but before we even consider that we must fix America! Oh, and ya we have been feminized here. I lived in Switzerland for two years and there are much sharper gender-roles, and the media seems much more free..but still controlled.
tstruss912 1 year ago
@tstruss912 You're right about Foreign Aid, we've become the Great Enabler, as well as the Great Satan, and the scum who live close enough to America to break in, can just STEAL the ULTIMATE Bailout for themselves and the kids they couldn't afford and shouldn't have produced in the first place!
Of course, people who want Foreign Aid cut are called "racist", but that word has been overused and is rightfully losing power. Some are concerned that China might takeover those countries, (continued)
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 I say, "Let them!" China's a burgeoning economy with few parasites, and they have delusions of being a superpower. It would be UNETHICAL to conceal from them the downside of being a superpower, namely that everyone wants something from you, and are your "friend" only so long as you provide what they want! (And in the case of America, not even that long, there's a SNOPES article about countries voting against us in the UN WHILE RECEIVING FOREIGN AID!)
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 Also, I don't think sanctions would work against NK, due to China again.
China was willing to brace America to keep funding Iran, when Obama, in an uncharacteristically ballsy move, threatened sanctions. How much MORE, then, would they be willing to brace us to keep supporting their unstable, retarded protege and the country he leads?
Right now, in the UN Security Council, China SINGLEHANDEDLY blocks all the other countries from taking punitive action against North Korea!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 America has a SPECIAL reason to hate North Korea, though, in that Clinton made a Devil's Bargain with them, offering them food, in exchange for NOT developing a nuke. Instead, they took that food and kept the scientists fed while they developed the nuke they promised NOT to! In essence, Americans' generous nature was exploited to subsidize the development of their nuke, with or without China's "help". They may be starving, but now they can blackmail the world into feeding them!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH If I read your posts correctly, I hope I do, then your main concern is our white-water speed drifting from classic American values. The erosion of values like: hard work, standing up for yourself, taking care of your own first, etc. can easily be traced to one source....(drumroll) the media! To even start addressing the problems in our country we need two things to happen. Democratize banking and democratize the media. Americans don't even want the values being pushed in the media.
tstruss912 1 year ago
@tstruss912 Yes, that's it exactly, about the erosion of values, let alone the ability of Americans to stand up for ourselves, and denouncing the idea of taking care of our own first as somehow selfish&racist.
For instance, right now, Americans are being derided as selfish and racist for trying to block the creation of a Moslem edifice near 9/11 Ground Zero by an Imam who is known to be a slumlord and has prior convictions.
But it's "brave" for Moslems to kill Americans in THEIR country! WTF?
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH You seem slightly confused? What are you talking about?
DerEchteSenf 1 year ago
@DerEchteSenf I'm talking about the pride America used to have in ourselves, our culture, our country, our capabilities. Impossible was for other countries. We explored, we innovated, we built, we thrived!
We established in 230 years what other countries took millennia to do, and some never DID accomplish!
As JFK said, "We choose to do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard"
Now we seem to be paralyzed by concern for what other cultures will think or whatever...
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH That's no answer.
DerEchteSenf 1 year ago
@DerEchteSenf Can you ask a more specific question, then?
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH Established in 230 years by people that came from countries that were millenias old, and constructed the government and constitution etc on borrowing from ideas as far back as the Athenians. Now there was a people that did some serious legwork that helped all of us to excel in modern times, science, math, philosophy you name it.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr Yes, but again, we exceeded our forbears, and indeed all other countries in the world at the time, and arguably now, and all we get for it is arguments that we "owe" lesser countries handouts, and/or to let their rejects overpopulate our country, rather than taking only the ones we WANT, as every sovereign country has a right to...
As to that, though, other countries could remake themselves based on US and succeed the way we did, rather than mooch off us, right?
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH I'm not sure that there is such a succeess next to our forebears to be fair. If you look at it, the only thing we have excelled in is money making and creating a headless materialistic ideology. Compare their quality of art, litterature, statesmen (founding fathers) and philosophy to our modern equivalences. It quickly turns out that we produce much less than even half-measures by comparison. We have a better widespread education, but even that is institustionalized to produce drones.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr Before you bring up that America is somehow more militant than other countries, look back at Greece's example--or any other--and find that their cultural and Alexander the Great's Claim to Fame was literally conquering the known world. But even without that, they could've never excelled in science, math, philosophy, or any other non-survival subject if they didn't have a strong military protecting their treasure trove...Sparta took it to excess, but even THAT turned out necessary!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@EPGAH Don't get me wrong im not another anti-American. I was just pointing out that nothing ever comes out of nothing, we are all where we are as a result of others in history and present collaboration, trade and exchange in tech and science you name it. The point with the Greeks particulary the Athenians was the foundation laid out by them that modelled the future and present social political constructs. Alexander was Macedonian ;), Athens was the most civilized of the Greek states.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr Be carefull sir. Alexander not being greek needs backup.
AthrihosPithekos 1 year ago
@AthrihosPithekos I said Macedonian, which was a Greek state and so makes him a Greek. Unless im interpreting history incorrectly.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr Well we agree. The archeological discoveries until now show that Macedonians were Greeks. That's aslo the point of view of the ancient Roman historians as well as the Greek ones.By the way i am a 3rd year student of history and archeology at Aristotle's University of Thessalonica.
AthrihosPithekos 1 year ago
@AthrihosPithekos Just at the outer edges too, the countries like Albania has made claims that Macedon was a part of their country. Which is of course ludicrous, but it's not more than one can expect when national pride gets mixed into historical debates. Are you a student of philosophy on your sparetime as well ?
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr well, not exactly.I mainly study history and i am also interested in glossology when i have spare time.

@AthrihosPithekos Guess you have found in Chomsky, a teacher after your own heart then.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
@Tyrfingr Looks like you shut those assholes up... Chomsky was boring me with his reality so I had to see what the extreme right had to say...
12107170 1 year ago
@12107170 I don't believe much in taking dogmatic sides in either direction, i prefer to look at things realistically. And i agree with Chomsky on the point that we should apply the ancient saying "know thyself" to ourselves not just personally, but on the nation as a whole before we start praising ourselves too much, or criticizing others.
Tyrfingr 1 year ago
We are being pushed into believing and voting for things that are against our own best interest. My idea is as follows: State banking reform for all states (similar to North Dakota), then when that is complete reform at the federal level. When the elite are reeling from this defeat, then the media can be diversified via anti-trust laws. After that implement a MANDATORY citizens militia to keep the elite scared. Then we can actually hear real American values on the news, and movies, etc.
tstruss912 1 year ago
And the "playing fair" bull is just to extend the war to make money. Most people don't know that we had all kinds of "playing fair" rules in Vietnam. But hey, who cares, it only cost tens of thousands of brave lives, not to mention civilians. If I could go on a journey to the moon with some of these corporate psycos I think their space-suits might "accidentally" get punctured. If you haven't seen it there is a good doc called "I, psychopath". That shows the true nature of these people.
tstruss912 1 year ago

EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 Look around, take any commercial, the man in it is shown as so stupid you hope the Men In White come to reclaim him...Or THE biggest selling movie of all time is AVATAR, where betraying your whole PLANET--not your nation, your race, or even your species--is an Heroic Act! Wait, I thought traitors were supposed to "Get It" in a Double Plus Ungood way, by some random act of environment if the Hero was Too Good to kill him?!
Or shiny/whiny Vampires upstaging badasses like BLADE?
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 We're also no longer allowed to see any more than kissing onscreen, people have sex with their clothes ON, gunfights no longer leave corpses, and we have to damp down our culture to avoid "offending" invaders who who have a different culture, rather than DEMANDING they adapt to US! This weakening is an outgrowth of the "Try New Things" mentality, making us better consumers, but also making us VERY ripe for conquest...by the Moslems, Mexicans or any other fast-breeding invaders!
EPGAH 1 year ago
@tstruss912 PS, we also have to rewrite our history books to make the losers of history not look AS epic of fail as they really were, to avoid offending their descendants.
Some particularly "unpleasant" bits of history are being excised wholesale, and the modern "History Book" is thinner than my PC Gamer 200th Anniversary Issue, while my old one is a Mighty Tome, something akin to a hardcover phone-book!
