  • One thing you did wrong was put the locks, good lifts though. When I prepare for my max I do my first set 135 x12reps then 225 then finish my sets 155 185

  • You could get 225 easy. You just need sum form. If u can get 195 off ur chest that fast 2 plates shouldnt be a problem. Look up sum bench technique videos

  • @rctman1 Not sure about you, but when I max out, the bar isn't above my throat. But to your excitement, I no longer max out on barbell bench. I could honestly care less about it.

  • @rctman1 if you know limits its not stupid. My bro has done over 450 lbs without a spotter and had it rest on his chest. just hold it there until someone comes to help you. or wait there for the strength to regain and push it up. besides, he's dropped 450 lbs on his chest and he was fine.

  • @Madboxer2010 Na, I know. My form wasn't the greatest on most of my videos besides some of the more recent ones. Thinking about deleting the old and shitty ones but I wanna keep them up just to look back on, but they do suck haha.

  • @chrisriley1224 Very nice man, I'm currently 18, about 5'7" and I weigh about 145. I recently got 210 and could probably get a little more but I've yet to do it. But I actually have higher endurance than brute strength, but I change it up, sometimes I'll go for higher reps with like 135 or 155, and sometimes I'll go heavy with 175-185.

  • Just saying from my experience and common sense. Never MAX out ALONE! Like 2 weeks ago i tried maxing 225lbs, go half way.....went straight back down. i tried rolling it off but it nearly crushed my stomach.. So i had to lean to the right. Now after the 2 week. i finally got a NEW max on bench. 255lbs, but with not without any spotters, not even one, .....3 spotters. Safety is more important that what you may think you can do. Bu nice job on the max. Keep it up man.

  • @NwodAFoMetsys1118 well when i was maxing out on the 225 i had done a bench workout earlier in the morning so i was kind of tired. On Monday i'm going to try to max out and see if i can get 260 or 265 hopefully. I've just got to do more cardio to bring down my weight because right now i'm only benching 55pounds over my body weight. GOod luck on getting the 210 btw.

  • @thawere Oh I see...but I did get the 210, I have the video up too. And ya, with 210 I'm about 65 pounds over my bodyweight.

  • js, you shouldnt put clamps on when your liftin by yourself . if you cant get the weight up, your screwed. if you dont have clamps on then you can at least dump the weight. but not bad, your alot stronger then you look.

  • @AllThingsExclusive Thanks, I don't test my one rep max by myself anymore, in fact, I don't test my 1 rep max at all really. I'm more concerned with what I can get for like 3 reps.

  • @joshcampuss Do you try doing 140 after you do 135x5? If you do I would recommend not, and when you want to try 140, do the bar like 10 times, then put a 25 on and do that 3 times for a little wawrmup, then try 140.

    That's weird dude. If your 5RM is 135, your 1 RM should be somewhere around 165. How's your form? Tuck in elbows, chest up, arched back, pinched shoulder blades, wrist in line with forearm, exhale on the way up, inhale when you go down?

  • @aceofspades903 Na man, still havenn't hit 205, my best on bench (195) was done when I would workout in my garage and the only thing I did was chest. Lately I've been going to the local gym and I've gotten way more toned looking, I haven't tested my max on bench yet, but recently I could only do 135x10. But I'd rather drop in chest for a little while so I can gain other places. It's been the first time I've worked legs and I'm just keeping all of my muscles on a rotation so I look better.

  • @0vids4me Haha, not that beast, I weight anywhere from 138-140, though. And I'm skinnier than you?! Lol, never heard someone tell me that I'm skinny. But I try to workout every day if I can, I bought a membership to a gym recently and I usually just do a whole body workout with a little of everything and then I've been trying to do some cardio too, to lose body fat but I've been unable to get out in my garage and run on the treadmill.
