  • I forgot to add one thing on my other comment(why do I keep doing that???). I never cared for Maria Hill much in Bendis' stories but in Fraction's stories I care for her more. Like when the Controller puts her under his control I immeadiatley thought, "Oh sh*t! How's she gonna get out of this?" As much as I like Bendis some tiny things in his stories bug me.

  • Iron Man and Maria Hill getting it on was probably a Loeb thing. Think about it. EVERY issue of Ultimates 3 someone gets it on with someone else. And with Ultimate Hulk Annual, Hulk gets in on with Zarda. I pray Matt Fraction doesnt turn into a guy like Loeb that would be awful.

  • wow bendis bashing

ill tell ya 2 books that never disappoint and in fact always impress me and keep my faith in comics are powers and ultimate spider man

bendis has great characterziation and human moment in both those books

  • I didn't care for his Ultimate Spider-Man books either.

  • During Civil War, I was almost pro-registration, 'cause I was thinking "well, at least this way, they'll have Tony Stark - a good guy - running the programme and not some nasty politician or supervillian." Then this shit happens.

  • Elliott did u read War Machine #1? if u did please tell me what u thought about it, or, better, do an installment on it.

  • The new Iron Man armor is suit!

it is one of the most disgusting armor I've seen, I hate those Iron Man armor with pipes in the neck, like WTF why to put those disgusting pipes there?

One of the best looking Iron Man's armor I saw was the armor at the beginning of Extremis .

  • Dude, that's the classic Iron Man armor from Heroes Return by the one-and-only George Perez! I LOVE THAT ARMOR!

    But it's OK that you don't. ;-)

  • No ads? I hadn't even noticed. Go Marvel!!!!!!!

  • Remind me: why exactly did they give Osborn all that power? As far as I know it was because he shot the Skrull queen (which, frankly, any of the heroes in Times Square could have done).

  • It really doesn't make any sense that he is put into this posistion of power, LordBifford.

I mean, Elliot made the point in a video two months back. He said: "If John Hinkly (the guy who tried to kill Pres.Regan) shot Osama Bin Ladin, would the government put Hinkly in charge of the CIA?" No!

Osborn is a schitzo-psychotic with a Halloween Fetish. Why would he be in charge of anything?

Really, it's just a cheap gimmick cooked up by Bendis and Joe Q just signed off on it.

  • It also didn't make sense how easily the Skrulls were defeated. I mean, they just unmasked themselves and had a big battle with the heroes in Times Square - wtf? After an immensely succesful infiltration, THAT was how they planned to finish it?

  • Again, you are correct. So all the heroes gather in one place for one ultra crazy melee. I'm reading this and thinking: 'Why don't the Skrulls just nuke them all from orbit?"

  • yeah an advanced race of shape shifters infiltrate the earth over months and months and then line up for a gang fight in central park for all the marbles????

  • I just would have ended Secret Invasion differently. This is what i would've done:

First, I would have Humanity Surrender to the Skrulls. Then, Osborn (relizing that fighting would be futile) convinces the Villians to side with the Skrulls.

So, the Skrulls Occupy the planet, and the remaining heroes, whom the Skrulls didn't banish to the Negative Zone, form an underground resistance against the Skrulls. This all leads to my mega event series "Revolution" when the heroes retake Earth.

  • Fraction is killing it on this title, this is the benchmark at marvel for how their books should be written, they should put Fraction on new avengers. If anyone could pull that title out of mediocrity and make it something amazing, it's him.

  • I dunno. I really like Iron Man, but I'm not too crazy about Fraction's X-Men. Some writers just have a hard time handling team books (i.e., Bendis) and lose their focus when they have too many characters to juggle.

    Elliott

  • you make a good point, currently i'm not reading any x-men titles because... well, they suck. It is strange though, how they can put two masterminds like Brubaker and Fraction on these titles and still not be able to pull off a decent book. I thought he would do well on new avengers because the one issue of invincible with spidey was so well done. The interaction between him and Stark was so believable that I thought he could pull off that dynamic with all the characters. but ya, x-men.... hm.

  • Which just goes to show how inadequately Bendis wrote the character. I don't think it was so much of a red herring as Fraction knowing how to make the character work, as opposed to Bendis who puts a character in to just stir S#!t up and then forgets about them (i.e. Wanda).

    Elliott

  • I know! He just keeps leaving plot strings laying around, and everything just keeps trippn' over 'em!

Some books you guys really gotta talk about more in-depth are "Guardians of the Galaxy" & "Captain Britian & the MI:13".

  • The reason I thought she was a total bitch was because, prior to Secret Invasion, we weren't supposed to trust her. Ever since she was introduced, I didn't trust her. I would think " I don't trust this bitch." But, I guess she was a red herring.

  • YESSSSSSSS

at least someone reviewing the series!

    it is amazing series!

  • Thing I like about Maria Hill is that she basically calls characters out on their BS.

  • Bout time stark & Hill got busy

The tension between them was gonna lead to this
