Who cares about the horses? Only 15 out of 36 people do. This is ranked 3rd in the most dangerous sports. The average life span of a race horse is 5 to 7 years, and that is not a very long life span. Usually if the race horse is retired, it goes to slaughter. All jockeys care about is the money, not the horse. This sport needs to bee stopped now, it's animal cruelty.

I feel so bad for the horses. I ride to but I ride saddleseat and to ride on the kentucky derby racetrack would be really fun and cool especially if your horse can rack!

Actually they want a jockey to be under 115, not so much 110, but the lighter the better.
They won't not let you ride if you are over 115, but trainers don't like it.

do jockeys have to be midget size to ride the horses oh and all of them have the same elf voice

The less the jockeys weigh, the faster the horses run. So when your smaller, its easier to weigh less and to feel lighter on the horses back. :)

Yes. They can not weigh more then 110 pounds so they are very small. This is because the less weight the horse has to carry the faster it can run.
