@randomdude111100 That is one of the problems with Ron Paul, the other is that he doesn't think the government can regulate things but one of the big problems with the US banks is that there aren't effective regulations to keep them from taking too big of risks. It is kind of a shame because Ron Paul is so good on quite a few issues and seems genuine which is rare in a politician these days but he just has to go and say that if you can't afford or don't buy health insurance, I guess you die.

If it isn't the people making decisions what else makes a bank take too much risk? Suppose I don't own the bank I run, I get paid a salary and bonuses for increasing profits, if I take risk and win I get rewarded but if I fuck up I only get left with the millions I've earned so far, great system. Why wouldn't anyone take risks?
@moose894 Also if you look at the Canadian banks that were never de-regulated like other countries' banks you will see that regulations preventing certain high-risk banking practices prevented both a financial collapse of the banking system AND the need for government bailouts. The real problem is corruption, not rules and the American taxpayers should own every institution that took a bailout anyway but the rules, for some time now, are written by bankers and lobbyists because of corruption.

@SSedmak I have to disagree with you there, I'm Canadian and I wouldn't trade my country's universal healthcare system for a US style one, and neither would the vast majority of Canadians. We spend half as much per capita and everyone gets to see a doctor and gets treatment. There are shortcomings and problems that people can complain about still, I'm not aware of any country with a perfect system, but it is a lot better than the alternatives. It is about compassion, equal access for everyone

@randomdude111100 That is one of the problems with Ron Paul, the other is that he doesn't think the government can regulate things but one of the big problems with the US banks is that there aren't effective regulations to keep them from taking too big of risks. It is kind of a shame because Ron Paul is so good on quite a few issues and seems genuine which is rare in a politician these days but he just has to go and say that if you can't afford or don't buy health insurance, I guess you die.

If it isn't the people making decisions what else makes a bank take too much risk? Suppose I don't own the bank I run, I get paid a salary and bonuses for increasing profits, if I take risk and win I get rewarded but if I fuck up I only get left with the millions I've earned so far, great system. Why wouldn't anyone take risks?

@moose894 Also if you look at the Canadian banks that were never de-regulated like other countries' banks you will see that regulations preventing certain high-risk banking practices prevented both a financial collapse of the banking system AND the need for government bailouts. The real problem is corruption, not rules and the American taxpayers should own every institution that took a bailout anyway but the rules, for some time now, are written by bankers and lobbyists because of corruption.

We spend half as much per capita and everyone gets to see a doctor and gets treatment. There are shortcomings and problems that people can complain about still, I'm not aware of any country with a perfect system, but it is a lot better than the alternatives. It is about compassion, equal access for everyone

Gold is limited and in the hands of the few. It may not be necessary to use it as backing. What we need is money printed and the quantity controlled by the people rather than the banskters that own it now. Do not end the Fed, end private ownership of the Fed. Take it back! It's essentially a front for all of the private banks. Print United States Notes by the people for the people. Print debt/interest free money instruments. See Andy Gause and Bill Still for info. the majority of the wealthy are haughty overbearing and mean and that is the class the income tax is designed to reach.that quote is from 1909 when Congress designed a tax to reach income of the rich of the early 1900's The American people voted for the income tax because Congress promised that only those who earned over 20,000 a year would pay so why is it today the rich pay almost nothing. The income tax is a failure because it still has not reached the wealthy as it was designed to do.

However, majority White orgs like the Tea Party get called "racist" by pretty much everyone even though they go out of their way NOT to be pro-White. People calling the Tea Partiers "racist" think they're anti-racist but they're anti-White. Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

I watched this with the sound down just to test it out.....because much is given away when you turn the sound down....what I saw was a GAP commercial. WaMu and Countrywide were the biggest offenders;not F&F.The FCIC determined that F&F played a minimal role in the crisis;while the RATING AGENCIES played KEY ROLES. The RICH are the biggest defaulters,1 in 7 defaults over a million $ as opposed to 1 in 12 under a million. Blaming F&F and the CRA is far rightwing/uber rich disinfo.We need to put the 'FED' under the Treasury Dept and return Glass Steagall. Say there is a finite amount of gold in a town and a 100% gold std. The bankers charge interest on their loans. Ask yourself what happens after awhile? I agree with his sentiments,but he is pushing a Koch bros style solution. And State Gov can be bought off even easier than the Federal Gov, monopolies then incorporate in the State with the least regulations- a race to the bottom. Federal standards have their place,we need the correct ones;doing away with them benefits the oligarchs.

The fractional reserve system as its run by a private monoply does not work for the common good,it is not the problem in and of itself. There's NOTHING wrong with it if it were to be used by NONPROFIT State charter and community banks that bypass Wall Street and have ETHICS written into their charters! A State bank can return interest to the Treasury and actually LOWER taxes! Fiat money is no problem if the goods and services grow w/ the money supply. Oligarchs benefit from a 'gold std'
