@molomono Ehrm.. still the technique is not made by triggers and the speed also isnt, triggers are just that you can make the noise clearer they just take up the hits and make an electronic signal out of them so that you can use that signal in a module... so at all its just for the sound and many drummers say axis wouldnt hit that hard as iron cobras or something like that so its just fair to use triggers.
Herp a derp dude i'm on fucking electric drums for i live in an apartment.
I also play acoustic live gigs. Not to mention what you stated in your post has no contradiction whatsoever to what i posted about.
I said direct drives transfer more power than chain drives, (fact) and that triggers don't need a hard hit to render. So you could loose some dynamics by playing chains and triggers or keep the dynamics with direct drives.
@molomono Yeah what you say is right but I dont understand the point with the dynamics? Why do you loose it by playing with triggers?(not looking at the pedal right now) I mean yeah you dont have to hit as hard as without triggers but thats it, or not?
The power of a beater impact isn't measured as accurately as an acoustic hit.
Thus when playing with beaters if you hit hard or soft it doesn't matter, some people want that hard hit every hit. Some people like to be able to play with the dynamics of the hits.
If you use triggers you don't need to be as consistent in the power you are hitting the drum with.
All in all, loss of dynamics, weather that's good or bad is up to you.
@molomono Okay I accept that , but you mostly use triggers just for recording or for live shows because of the drums itself being to quiet. a friend of mine plays without triggers until hes recording
not sure if he has the longboards or not i cant tell from this angle but just see how his feet stay in the same spot that's controll which alot of people dont have cuz i was considering buying them but realised if i worked on control i could save over 500 dollars =D
pedals don't get stuck to a bass drum and pedals do too move around i sued to have a pair of axis pedals and they moved around and i also use the same technique as he does so trust me his feet don't move back
if you see pretty close you'll notice that he has two bass drums in this video, my guess is that he has put in left part of the double pedal under the other bass drum, just a pure guess. But it's a thing i also do, keeps my left pedal from sliding
ne. the new pearl demon drives are extremly accurate and made for precison, speed, controll off of this. it is made to custom fit to your feet. you have to do all these adjustments and crap but afterwards it is worth it. axis is still amazing and i think pearl made these to compete. but give them credit they did a good job.
Lol, you picked a couple songs that are well-lead by the bass pedals. Nice shit, bro. It looks like you have good control over your pedaling skills - speed, accuracy, technique.
If you are looking for a challenge with double bass, I suggest looking up some of Meshuggah's songs. Songs from Obzen have some interesting time signatures and double bass patterns. :)
in iceland they belive the dimmu borgir iz the entrance to hell the dimmu :dark borgir:cities is a place on a lava infestead mountain that has the ground spuing solfar and acidly missed
I think that this piece of wood lying there is using for higher position of the drum throne. If you watch closer you can see that one leg of the drum throne is on this piece of wood. Sry for my English.
I hate when peeps say triggers are cheating... its only cheating if you are pulling your beaters in-ward closer to the head so you dont hit as hard. As anyone can see his feet are pushing full peddle length... not cheating in my book.
you think it's dumb..... but I was asking because I found that when I'm at work and I have my heels up on the wheels of my roller chair... it's 10x easier to double kick. So it's a completely legitimate question. lol
I got excited not because I only use that technique for when I'm practicing at work. To think for a second that I saw someone actually using it on the drums blew my mind that someone would actually use it.
Now that's what I call a surgically accurate drumming technique, Sir !
Time to cover some Kiilerich stuff, Das Leben will Gewonnen Sein, Schwarz ist Unser Panzer, or Panzergrenadier for example, this man has a sick technique as well ! ;-)
No, it doesn't. The actual stroke is performed by the foot pressing down the pedal with a downward motion in the front. Swiveling the heel from side to side is an additional motion usually performed to heighten endurance. Most people do it (as you can see here, Blastphemer for example, or Derek Roddy etc) instinctivly when playing really fast, but only very few like George Kollias as Tim Waterson have started to control it to turn it into a concious technique.

oveerkul 2 years ago
@oveerkul
Triggers do the job for him in that, they even out the noise for him making it alot easier in strength wise for him to produce hard cleaner noises.
Triggers are a bought electrical product which gets connected upto the pedals sensing the hits. 9/10 metal drummers use them.
DLH8DeMoN 2 years ago
@DLH8DeMoN
Thats true about triggers and all, but if the video poster is using direct drives you don't need to move your feet as much to get a good hit.
Although yes this video is triggered.

How does the swivel work? I don't play drums so I have no idea how it helps you achieve higher speed or whatnot.
