  • and I cant afford axis </3

  • sick!!!

  • What is the piece of wood for?

  • what kind of pedals man?

  • very impressive, you have complete control. what is the wood plank for?

  • You should do a cover of Bleed by Meshuggah!

  • fuckin awesome dude. even if u use triggers thats still sick. im workin my way up to be that fast. im pretty close

  • You should do a cover of the song Bleed by Meshuggah. it seems right up your alley.

  • love the sound off your bass drums

  • Jam stuff rulez!!))

  • guitarguy here, askin:

how can you bass so fast and hard and yet barely move your feet?

then again i have really no insight into double pedals at all...

  • @oveerkul

Triggers do the job for him in that, they even out the noise for him making it alot easier in strength wise for him to produce hard cleaner noises.

Triggers are a bought electrical product which gets connected upto the pedals sensing the hits. 9/10 metal drummers use them.

  • @DLH8DeMoN

Thats true about triggers and all, but if the video poster is using direct drives you don't need to move your feet as much to get a good hit.

Although yes this video is triggered.

  • @molomono xD

  • @molomono Ehrm.. still the technique is not made by triggers and the speed also isnt, triggers are just that you can make the noise clearer they just take up the hits and make an electronic signal out of them so that you can use that signal in a module... so at all its just for the sound and many drummers say axis wouldnt hit that hard as iron cobras or something like that so its just fair to use triggers.

  • @kichermann

Herp a derp dude i'm on fucking electric drums for i live in an apartment.

I also play acoustic live gigs. Not to mention what you stated in your post has no contradiction whatsoever to what i posted about.

I said direct drives transfer more power than chain drives, (fact) and that triggers don't need a hard hit to render. So you could loose some dynamics by playing chains and triggers or keep the dynamics with direct drives.

  • @molomono Yeah what you say is right but I dont understand the point with the dynamics? Why do you loose it by playing with triggers?(not looking at the pedal right now) I mean yeah you dont have to hit as hard as without triggers but thats it, or not?

  • @kichermann

The power of a beater impact isn't measured as accurately as an acoustic hit.

Thus when playing with beaters if you hit hard or soft it doesn't matter, some people want that hard hit every hit. Some people like to be able to play with the dynamics of the hits.

If you use triggers you don't need to be as consistent in the power you are hitting the drum with.

All in all, loss of dynamics, weather that's good or bad is up to you.

  • @molomono Okay I accept that , but you mostly use triggers just for recording or for live shows because of the drums itself being to quiet. a friend of mine plays without triggers until hes recording

  • @kichermann I'm not saying otherwise.

Personal preference really, depends mostly on the genre you are playing.

  • actually amazing.

  • whats that wood behind his pedals for? just to keep his stuff in place?

  • warum um himmels willen hast du da eine holzlatte hingetan ?

  • You know you have fast double bass when it blurs your camera LOL

  • wicked! damn how the fuk do ya keep kickin' so quick for so long?

  • holy fuck.

  • HOLY CRAP

  • Nice dude.

  • what brand of kick trigger do you use and where can i get one like yours it seems to handle really well?

  • I wish we could've seen the whole kit, because your hands are smoking as much as your feet!.

    Great vid.

  • Then watch his other videos.

  • I watch this almost every day. Then I go and play it. Thanx a lot for posting this, it's inspiring to me.

  • not sure if he has the longboards or not i cant tell from this angle but just see how his feet stay in the same spot that's controll which alot of people dont have cuz i was considering buying them but realised if i worked on control i could save over 500 dollars =D

  • longboards look when he switches songs you can see them and i would recommend the longboards they are worth the money and they feel incredible

  • what's the wood for?

  • i think it stops his feet from sliding back

  • duh... it stops the pedals from moving

  • oh lol that's a pretty good idea.

  • pedals don't get stuck to a bass drum and pedals do too move around i sued to have a pair of axis pedals and they moved around and i also use the same technique as he does so trust me his feet don't move back

  • no one of the pedals is clamped to the bass if u only have one drum. they do not slide

  • thank you!

  • hahaha they all thought wrong

  • yeah no kidding

  • if you see pretty close you'll notice that he has two bass drums in this video, my guess is that he has put in left part of the double pedal under the other bass drum, just a pure guess. But it's a thing i also do, keeps my left pedal from sliding

  • How about... it's for many reasons? Haha. xD;

  • what is the song oif Fear factory at the beginning ??

  • messiah

  • Comment removed

  • damn man i only havce fucing mapex LOL

  • I <3 Axis

  • haha fuck no

  • ne. the new pearl demon drives are extremly accurate and made for precison, speed, controll off of this. it is made to custom fit to your feet. you have to do all these adjustments and crap but afterwards it is worth it. axis is still amazing and i think pearl made these to compete. but give them credit they did a good job.

  • Could you do a Serpentine Offering cover tht would be sick as

  • Even cooler if it was The Chosen Legacy.

  • how far back are your beaters from the bass drum?

  • Hey what kind of pedals are you using?

  • Axis

  • Axis, the best pedals for metal, metal pedals! \,,/ \,,/

  • I've never played with Axis, but I do have Iron Cobra Power Glide, and I can play up to 245 with those.

  • yeah i have a pair of iron cobras got um couple of days ago so im still adjusting them as i play

  • i lay around 230 on my iron cobras, all my videos are pretty old though.. I will soon post something iwth a rythm and stuff like that.

  • is that the swivel foot technique?

  • Yeah, kinda'...he's mostly doing the ankle motion like George Kollias. But there's some swivel in there too :)

  • How does the swivel work? I don't play drums so I have no idea how it helps you achieve higher speed or whatnot.

  • Searchon Swivel Technique on youtube and see for yourself :)

  • Swivel work sideway, its less hard for the ankle to work and its just need some practice to get it on.

  • Lol, you picked a couple songs that are well-lead by the bass pedals. Nice shit, bro. It looks like you have good control over your pedaling skills - speed, accuracy, technique.

If you are looking for a challenge with double bass, I suggest looking up some of Meshuggah's songs. Songs from Obzen have some interesting time signatures and double bass patterns. :)

    Rock on!!

  • hey what are you pedal settings like?

  • hey make a tutorial for double bassing

  • in iceland they belive the dimmu borgir iz the entrance to hell the dimmu :dark borgir:cities is a place on a lava infestead mountain that has the ground spuing solfar and acidly missed

  • nice i like

  • Nice video, great song choice. It has been a long time since I have heard Messiah.

  • man you are a machine,holy shit every hit perfect,flawless exibition,fantastic

  • ff: messiah

  • Sin Das Axis Pedale?

  • ja axis pedalen ;)

  • Are he using two bass drums or a double pedal?

  • what song was tht by fear factory

  • what fear factory song was that?

  • @ m3t4linsid3

das müsste ne axis a longboard sein

    verdammt gutes video !

  • how do you sustain the stamina to keep stable so long???

  • yeah but even so he doesn't look like hes tapping, so he must be playing fairly hard.

  • Is swiveling a technique for you or does it just happen as a natural reaction of your body when you push?

  • it usually happens naturally when you play, but for some its just another technique.

  • Sach ma, welche Fußmaschine benutzt du eigentlich? Ist das ne Pearl Eli?

    Gruß.

  • @m3t4linsid3

    Blastphemer benutzt Axis Longboards.

  • u got triggers on there right?????

  • I think that this piece of wood lying there is using for higher position of the drum throne. If you watch closer you can see that one leg of the drum throne is on this piece of wood. Sry for my English.

  • Nice shoes ^^,

  • hey dude u fucking rock but im just wondering whats that wood thing for? to keep your feet from falling back?

  • digimortal was my personal favorite fear factory album do no one!!! :D

    keep on rockin

  • Are you pushing down with your leg or the front of your foot? Cause it looks like your doing it with the front of your foot when you go fast.

  • with the ankles

  • what pedals?

  • Haha, both songs sound almost the same in paterns.

  • Fear Factory fucking sucks, wow.

  • I agree fear factory sucks, but this song is a good double bass demonstration.

  • your view buddy, I think fear factory fucking rocks

  • yeah i agree fear factory kicks ass

  • are they axis or trick pro?????

they both kinda look the same lol

  • It's axis, look at the end of the longboard, that little indentation is like axis' signature

  • mannnn hes lucky he has an axis i have this shit pdp pedals..........

  • A good pedal will help, but at the end of the day its all practice and techniques.

  • your right

i have the $100 pdps too like that guy ,and i could play this if i wanted to

  • ryan then show, dont spam

  • to a certain point, crap pedals really will slow you down but you dont need some 500 dollar amazing pedal to be fast, just something half way good.

  • i disagree i find a huge difference between axis and DW 7002

  • I own the DW7002. I don't like em so much

  • Axis longboards are amazing. i bought the black ones 4 months ago. try em out

  • Yes.

  • fast playing but this song needs more drum riffs...sleeeeepy....

  • Great video!!

What`s your pedal`s spring tension like during that vid?

  • I hate when peeps say triggers are cheating... its only cheating if you are pulling your beaters in-ward closer to the head so you dont hit as hard. As anyone can see his feet are pushing full peddle length... not cheating in my book.

  • <3 Blastphemer!!!

    Man u own ur drums!

  • check out my vids, their pretty good, idk..

  • what song is that?

  • They're write in the video...

  • it's messiah from fear factory

  • Holy fucking shit!! That's fast! :) And nice drumming.

  • Blastphemer cheating? how can he be?

  • cheetos

  • ohh sorry XD

  • where is the cheat?

  • wait a minute... are u using that wooden block to keep ur heelz up?

it is critical that this is responded with in truth. please.

  • Are you kidding? or do you need glasses?

  • that block is at least 6 inches behind his heel!

  • AHAHAH that was fun. No why should I, it was for the crappy chair.

  • LoL thats very dumb:D

  • you think it's dumb..... but I was asking because I found that when I'm at work and I have my heels up on the wheels of my roller chair... it's 10x easier to double kick. So it's a completely legitimate question. lol

I got excited not because I only use that technique for when I'm practicing at work. To think for a second that I saw someone actually using it on the drums blew my mind that someone would actually use it.

I'm happy that wasn't the case.

  • Wow man really nice. I´m still struggling with that ankle technique stuff but you obviously have it under control. Kickass!

  • +1

    for sure!

  • Amazing, like always

  • dude u freakin rock how long u been playing

  • Hi Jan,

    Alex from myspace here...

Now that's what I call a surgically accurate drumming technique, Sir !

Time to cover some Kiilerich stuff, Das Leben will Gewonnen Sein, Schwarz ist Unser Panzer, or Panzergrenadier for example, this man has a sick technique as well ! ;-)

Just keep doing your job, mate, you rock...

    Respect !

  • I agree, anything off Soul Collector ;)

  • the camera shakes from the amazingness

    awesome as always!!

    my #1 subscription forever!!!

  • Hmm, I would be glad if you put some hate eternal, dying fetus or misery index covers may be.

  • Welches Pedal hastn da?

  • Great drumming as always.

  • whats the song and band?

  • THAT'S FUCKING BADASS

  • hey blastphemer, it looks like ur usin the same foot technique as george kollias. the swivel foot technique

  • Not really swivel at all, more ankle...

  • Swivel and ankle aren't seperate technique.

Swiveling just means the your heel swivels from side to side while playing.

  • Yea but he dont do it all time on the vids

And swivel use the side to side movment on the pedal to do hit, not as ankle

  • No, it doesn't. The actual stroke is performed by the foot pressing down the pedal with a downward motion in the front. Swiveling the heel from side to side is an additional motion usually performed to heighten endurance. Most people do it (as you can see here, Blastphemer for example, or Derek Roddy etc) instinctivly when playing really fast, but only very few like George Kollias as Tim Waterson have started to control it to turn it into a concious technique.

  • So it's may be possible to have 2 kind of swivel ?

  • what kinda pedals are those?

  • Look like Axis shorts to me.

  • Axis A longboards

  • Omg and i so like that song. GOod job man you're god.

  • How fast is that shit at the end?

  • 245 bpm

  • \m/

What's the 2x4 by your feet for?

  • good job

  • man it always pumps me up lol, nice drumming

  • Nice dude, solid as always. Loving the trigger/mic sound as well.

Makes me wanna work on my feet more :P

    Keep the good work up!

  • Hey sounds awesome dude, question, why is there a plank of wood behind your feet?

  • fuckin reets

    beasty.

  • have you bought e-kit triggers or did you buy ddrum trigg? Is it the alesis d4 or dm5?

  • It is Alesis, dont know wich module but an old module with DDRUM triggs

  • are those two single pedals? or a double??

  • did you even watch the video?

  • double pedal YOYO

  • Nice dude, it sounds awesome.

  • YOYOYOYOYO
