Hearing Rod Serling's voice is just as iconic as the opening music! I wish they would've opened the 'Twilight Zone' movie with this and payed homage to Mr. Serling - the brilliant creator of this show, who was years ahead of his time!
(No disrespect meant for the late and wonderful Burgess Meredith, who did the intro and narration of this film.)
@hossola77 Unfortunately, Rod had already passed away at the time. I think that the technology to make an imitation, as seen in the Twilight Zone park attractions, didn't exist at the time. However, I wish they could do it again, with the imitation!
@hossola77 hehehe, thanks, I would certainly like them taking another stab at it :) actually, the first time I say the intro of the movie I was disappointed to see the absence of Rod :(
@johhnyvgoode I agree...they need to use your opening if / when they take another stab at a "Twilight Zone" movie!!! Come to think of it...maybe an immitation of Mr. Serling's incredible voice over would be blasphemy. like trying to create a new Picasso.
You're entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter... The Scary Door.
I'm sorry if it sounded like it, but I wasn't being sarcastic. Actually, I thank you for sharing your knowledge. Personally, I lack the discipline to read!!!
But I mean where in specific did you read that? Because I've got some Twilight Zone books, which I haven't read completely, and I wanted to know if I could find that there.
Aay sorry it can be hard to tell people's tone with text.
A freind of mine actuly bought me "The Doors of Perception" last year but I still have'nt got round to reading it. But the basic idea is once the 'doors' have been open, we will see everything as it truly is.
I'm not sure where I picked up the trivia though, probly in a reveiw of the book. Interestingly the band "the doors" got thier name from exactly the same place.
i recorded this on my phone then played them both at the exact same time. I could have died from the sound resemblance i couldn't tell which one was which.
Exactly how the movie should have been. Not hating on the other guy, but Rod, you need Rod. Good timing by the way...

The idea of 'the door' come from Huxley's "The Door's of Perception".

johhnyvgoode 2 years ago
I'm not sure if that's supposed to be sarcastic or not so I'll be neutral....
A life time of reading books and listening to music rather than watching the television all the time.

You should take a movie like Donnie Darko and edit it to 25 min and add this intro to make a faux episode.
Nice.
