@OldSchoolGameVault You really should connect the REAR switch before seating the PSU, and you don't need to remove anything else to just address the PSU, it's own screws are all that keep in attached. I would also note the internal fuse is SOLDERED to the power board, but could also be replaced with a soldering iron. Looks like a Slow blow fuse (covered in opaque tape)
@MetallicBill I'm checking mine, the Memory card reader from the 60GB model is attached to the top half plastic, with molded tongs on both sides. I removed the ribbon cable which requires dexterity and a careful procedure to not damage it. It looks like the card reader could attach as shown in your video, but mine seemed part of the plastic cover, though not screwed there I noticed just now
@saappp123 YLOD is more likely bad motherboard than psu - although psu probably contributed to the problem. easy YLOD fix is to relow the CPU/GPU (vids on youtube) and swap psu out for the APS-231 model unless you have it already
@pcjordan23EXTRA when the light turns from green to red blinking you should see a very quick flash of another colour - most likey yellow. if so then read above

Is the model number APS-231 or ZSSR5391A? Both are the same power supply except for a few screw placements. So if the power supply in your PS3 looks like this one(ZSSR5391A) the APS-31 will look like that and will be compatible.
I would make sure the model numbers on the power supply are the same. The model # is located on the bottom side of the power supply, in the top left hand corner.

I got a new power supply and fitted it and my ps3 still dosen't power up does anyone know why?

this problem happened to me tonight.. my ps3 has all the plugs in and i flip the switch, and not even my main power light comes on. i tried replugging it into different power supplies.. tried turning on and off, and also tried taking it all apart and looking at it. where can i buy a new power supply exactly like that, o ya just for your information, mine is an 80 gigabyt model, not sure if that matters or not.

my ps3 light turns yellow then red when turned on. i was told i need a new power supply. problem is that i don't know where to get one. ebay has for only one model number and not others.

Is the model number APS-231 or ZSSR5391A? Both are the same power supply except for a few screw placements. So if the power supply in your PS3 looks like this one(ZSSR5391A) the APS-31 will look like that and will be compatible.

I would make sure the model numbers on the power supply are the same. The model # is located on the bottom side of the power supply, in the top left hand corner.

China, but these are all over eBay, just search by the model number.
