hey all we are suporting little barrie at the o2 academy in liverpool if any of you live in the area its going to be a good gig and you should really consider going :)
An all-time favorite album. Singular and inspired, a complete experience from beginning to end. Also goes great with schmoozing in a small dive bar where everything's made of wood 'n shit.
That looks like Russel Simmins (Blues Explosion) back there on the drums! I got "Stand Your Ground" for my birthday, fantastic cd! Barrie's guitar sound is even more fantastic...
their ex-drummer looks like Russell, and Simins joined the band after their drummer left for a short time... anyway, they got quite the same break-beat style ; but their drummer can do awesome backing vocals... they really lost something when he left
I got we are little barry as a birthday present from my uncle in 2005. But they never became famous here in holland. I never heard them on radio or saw them on tv :S.
I knew that group through "Love You" but this song is really great: a very nice rythm. I like his way to play guitar. In a small club, that should be a very good experience!
Brilliant band, seen them twice, at Manchester and Nottingham. Class both times, have greener pastures and this song on vinyl, they sound better on vinyl rather than digital.
saw them for the 3rd time last night. Played @ The Roadhouse Manchester. Fucking quality apart from the stage lights blowing out just before they came on. They do seem to miss the backing vocals from the old drummer but Barrie's guitar playing makes up for that. Great band.
They are fuckin ace!just gotta enjoy em as much as you can!!!very impressing, saw them 1 year ago!great band...but now the good drummer with his unique soulvoice isn't part of them anymore so i duno how they sound now...
please come to australia or indonesia

I'm checking them out in march the 9th , Amsterdam Paradiso. All come, they're great

Nah Honken, the fact that its the song is stripped down to its bare basics makes it more soulful in my opinion.
Anyone know where the bass tab can be found?
judas21 5 years ago
I agree on you with that, but looking at their other songs it would make them complete.

And I thought that funk was dead! Could use a brass section to make it a little more soulish but hey, that was very good.
