Lars is a lot more creative then joey, joey just thinks about being fast and to show himself, and slipknot sucks. however...compare lars' drums in the Justice Album, in any song, to any song that joey has ever recorded...lars' ones are a lot more nice to hear

And we haven't seen that kinda stuff since but I'm sure he could do it even at his current age, maybe even better now cuz he's been playing longer.

@johnsoncabilover001 Lars definitely does it live. On the live recordings posted on youtube, you can't hear them. Trust me, if you go to their concert, you'll hear his crazy double bass. Just like Trapped Under Ice. He plays full double bass on that song all the time.
The most technically impressive work from lars was on and justice, and it was only barely on par with what was coming out around that time. Slayer released South of heaven the same year and totally showed up lars. Lars is not a great drummer. He does what he has to to get by. He hasn't improved at all during his career with metallica. Most musicians get better with experience, lars seems to simply stagnate.
@foreverfallout Well as I said his more technical work was on AJFA so no disagreement there, I just feel Lars is a much better drummer then he shows. Same with Kirk as a guitarist, I've been in music as a musician and surrounded by musicians long enough to know some players just aren't interested in playing to there full limits, its just there nature and what role they are comfortable with doing. I still think guys like Lombardo, Jordison, Hoglan, Haak, Kolias, can outplay him

@foreverfallout Well as I said his more technical work was on AJFA so no disagreement there, I just feel Lars is a much better drummer then he shows. Same with Kirk as a guitarist, I've been in music as a musician and surrounded by musicians long enough to know some players just aren't interested in playing to there full limits, its just there nature and what role they are comfortable with doing. I still think guys like Lombardo, Jordison, Hoglan, Haak, Kolias, can outplay him

TBH Joey sounds better. Slipknot isn't a band based around gimmicks (although pretty much every band has them, including your beloved Metallica). Robert Trujillo was NEUTERED by being brought into Metallica, by the way. His bass work was much much better in ST.

Ive seen them twice and his voice is just fine, and my father has been going to their concerts for over 20 years now and he still does an amazing job... No one can dis Rush because no one stands even close to the amount of sound they put out.
