This game is full of plot-holes! Shuyin is supposed to be a ghost that envied the living. Shouldn't he have turned into a fiend??? Damn Square is getting more and more like Capcom with their story lines...

The closest thing of that happening is when he's a Chaos Warrior in Dissidia. What I like about Shuyin is that he functions as a kind of proof that Tidus and the Dream Zanarkand existed. also as a unique what if behind his sunny personality ;)

war the reason good people turn savage and seek more power to stop it but in the end they destroy who they are shuyin did not realise that yes its sad to loose ur love but grasping reality is much more important then trying to stop a battle without a proper plan that is how eventually we will loose everything and even maybe bring ourselves to extinction for our instinct to fight clouds us and turns us into complete morons someday maybe people will get the brains to stop pointless squabbling.
The Youth League theme can be considered Nooj's theme like how the New Yevon and Machine Faction themes are for Baralai and Gippal. Though all three share The Crimson Squad theme (called Party in the OST)
in a way, shuyin is a mixture of cloud and tidus ^^ sad for losing someone close, but is willing to forgive (or be forgiven) when that close someone tells them that its ok (lenne aerith tifa)
Shuyin is a very special one for me. When I had played FF X-2 I felt really sorry for him ... If my girlfriend would die before my eyes just because of a stupid war I would really like to destroy the world ... Thanks for putting this up

He used his emotions, his anger, and thought to end his suffering, by ending life itself. He is quite sad, indeed.
On first seeing him in the sphere Kimahri found on Gagazet that began her new adventure,Yuna mistook him for her lost love, Tidus,due to their striking physical resemblances to one another. Unlike other Unsent, Shuyin can possess people, controlling those who are deep in malice as he is. He can also possess Fayth,using their Aeons to help him. He was eventually defeated and shortly reunited with Lenne as they faded. Like Tidus,he is voiced by James Arnold Taylor in english
Both Shuyin and his love were gunned down in front of Vegnagun after she prevented him from using it to take many lives for her sake.Sealed in the Den of Woes, Shuyin's unsent spirit-filled with dispair and self-loathing-cannot fade away and be free of his suffering. Shuyin desires to destroy all of Spira in the hopes that his agony may be able to end and that there can never again be a war like the one that cost him and Lenne their lives.
Shuyin is a native of Zanarkand who had lived during the age of the machina war between Zanarakand and Bevelle.He is also the main antagonist of FFX2.The lover of a songstress-summoner Lenne,he refused to accept her fate when she was ordered to the front lines - from which she would most certainly not return - and attempted to commandeer Bevelle's machina weapon,Vegnagun,in the hopes of using it to end the war and save Lenne.
Props to you for such a detailed summary. I hope the people who've read it already know the story. Then again it might be so because it isn't out of the ordinary to enjoy Shuyin's theme without haven beaten the game ;)

His inprisonment partially twisted him, watching himself and Lenne both die as he activated Vegna finished the job. When he returned by activation of Lenne's dressphere, he merely took Vegnagun (who was still activated, lmao) to the Farplane where he prepared the instruments of his revenge.
Very. He was both killed AND had his heart torn out. That makes for one twisted son of a gun, even more so than Yu Yevon, to destroy the world... and all the more fitting.
