you need to use the luma key filter- it is very similar to chroma key, or green screen, if you are familiar with it, but it works for white and black colors.

You're welcome! Yep, it can be done with Vegas. All the House of Nightmares videos were edited in Vegas. I forgot to mention, in the video, that this will work with almost any editing software. If you upload your results, send me the link to view it.

I'm using Final Cut Express. I recently switched to Mac and Vegas isn't available for it. This will work in Sony Vegas though. It should work in pretty much ANY editing software that has video layers and a cut tool.
