  • As much as I appreciate Gingers playing he was not the one who opened it up for rock drummers that honor goes to Ron Bushy of the Iron Butterfly with his extended solo on the 17 minute 1968 track "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida".This was a major hit and Ron has played a solo on every performance since. It was such a big hit that many cover bands played it with of course a drum solo. This really opened the door to many drummers getting the chance to stretch out

  • Remember ...don't bother feeding the trolls.Somewhere ,there is a waiting tree on a rainy night

  • "Special Olympics" for percussion players! Please put away those sticks Ginger...please.

  • ginger put the rock drummer on the map also way ahead of his time studying african drums / beats also in his prime showing you do not need loads of drums and cimbals, also another pioneer was robert wyatt

  • How many 70 year old men can still play the drums? He was one of the best in his day.

  • All you young drummers note, you can play into your seventies and beyond, just look at the rich list of brilliant players still playing live. Maybe its the cardio workout, but Buddy Rich and co. were doin' what other men there age could only dream about.

  • To the few individuals putting Ginger Baker down; let's see and hear how well you play percussion on YouTube.

  • Sorry, but it really is simply boring!!!

  • Ginger Baker cares enough about his sound to know when a tom is out of tune - and cool enough to tune it mid solo if necessary.

  • @gretschjazzer Dude, Ginger has fucked more girls and lived a life you can only dream of.

  • Ginger Baker hasn't done junk in over 30 years.

  • Ginger looks younger now @ 70 then he did 45 years ago!
