  • Random questons... How many gears and also does it have a gas gauge stock?? I have an 83 Maxim 750( first bike) but would love a second bike thats a little more modern until I can afford a Harley, Nice Bike! and Great Vid!

  • you have un problem in ignition system, your coil of the first cylinder dont work in perfectly, you can see the working of this engine... i have xv1100 and i had the same problem ;)

  • I would like to ask you if that is a stock virago tank ? also where do buy the solo seat? what about subframe custom or bought?

  • @ravil123 yes...stock tank...the drag bars makes it look different. Just an optical illusion...The seat was the original stock seat....just cut the passenger piece off, shave the foam to your liking, and re-wrap with marine vinyl.....done. Frame is stock but I cut off the rear end...and just mocked up from there. very little money spent on the mods...Good Luck.

  • fgdffdg

  • @mjo0032 Man...it was so long ago...best bet is to hit up the Virago forums. these guys are masters!!!! Check here: viragotech and just add the dot com at the end.

  • @dzij4 Thanks Mate!

  • @SPB282008 Good luck mate.

  • hey where did you get the seat from?

  • @americanbulldog69 I made it from the original stock seat. Just cut off the passenger piece and re-wrap with Marine Vinyl. Done.

  • Fucking awesome!!!

  • @vextwon Thanks. Wish I wouldn't have sold it. Damn!

  • Fuck i want one now!!!!!!!

  • i have the 1985 gotta fix itup. is that a shaft of chain bike?

  • @rhinoxman515 Drive Shaft! Chains are BS! I hate chains. Such a pain in the Rear! Driveshaft = no problems at all!

  • Man, you're cooler than the bike!

  • @kostar500 Haha...I don't think so but thanks anyway.

  • Nice, I like it

  • @sml2727 Thanks Mate.

  • where´s batman?^^

  • @DMIBinario In my pants!

  • sweet bike man, i getting ready to bob my 85 1000, trying to get some ideas

  • @jaybobrenn Veery Kool. Good luck man.

  • This is the real deal. I love that the bike has no frame under the engine. Just the bare powerplant hanging like grape. I got a couple of them too. Yeah, the alarms going on is really funny.

  • @TVaDaR Yea. All motor I loved that about this bike. Small frame with a 750 means>>>>120mph. that's pretty good for this type of bike.

  • Needs some color and chrome !

  • @snakeeyes45 Nah...I ain't no chick!

  • Too plain ! Needs some coolr !

  • @snakeeyes45 Color is for girls and panties! LOL.

  • Thats freakin AWESOME!!!

  • @damays99 Thanks.

  • lol yr riding a 750. im 16 and im riding an 1800..

  • @eli007950 ain't you special, punk

  • @jaybobrenn Agreed.

  • @eli007950 yeah and we will be laughing too when you get cought and cant have a licence for another 5 or more years

  • @shzze Agreed. No substitution for experience.

  • @Skunkpu double agreed and lovely virago by the way not many like it round my area

  • @eli007950 Yea...very nice. Good for you. Now what?

  • Love this bike!

  • @rennieGT Thanks!

  • Looks and sounds good!!!

  • @TwistersMCMaryland Thanks man.

  • Did you have to cut the rear frame off or does it unbolt? And how the heck did you do the seat?

  • @pissinguoff247 Yes. I cut off the rear frame. The seat is the original stock seat. Just cut off the passenger rear piece and shape the foam with an electric turkey slicer. Works awesome. Then recover with Marine Vinyl.

  • OH MY GOD THAT IS ONE KICK ASS BIKE!

  • @Mahoses Thanks.

  • Nice one.

Where did you find that seat.. did you make it?

  • @yungjipsea thanks!

  • that sounds great. I fully support this type of bike. It's the poorly designed motors that harleys use that makes me dislike them.

  • @BigAgitator I bought it new in 1994. I only had to replace one part! Ever! The voltage regulator. It was my fault it went out. I fried it by accident. Yamaha's = stand the test of time. Period!

  • what size tire did you put on in the back? I made a virago 750 bobber after watching this video and looking at other pictures of virago bobbers. I just need the nice fat tire in the back and to rejet my carbs because its an 82 virago that had stock pipes. took them off and had someone make custom dual exhaust angled upward coming out the right side of the bike. bad looking bike. ill try to post a pic of it so you can enjoy.

  • @jacketfootball08

Man....it was soo long ago. Sorry I don't remember. Good luck.

  • @jacketfootball08 Man, it was so long ago I don't even remember. I would like to see a pic of your bike when it is done. Sounds kool.

  • Nice, sounds awesome bro.

  • @timetochill666

    Thanks man.

  • @timetochill666 Thanks dude.

  • What type shocks were on the back ? were they stock ones ?...............Thanks

  • @73scamp

They are Progressive shocks and WELL worth the money!! Get them. Albeit, those shocks are hard to find for cheap on the virago. I paid under $130 for mine on ebay years ago...new. I just looked....and damn man have they gone up! Good luck.

  • @Skunkpu I put some on off of a 250 Virago, seems to work pretty good.

  • @73scamp No, definitely not. Those are progressive shocks. A bit pricey.....but I gotta tell you. Well worth the money. Improved the handling 10 fold. They are adjustable as well.

  • I should do this to my 82 virago 750. sick bike.

  • @BoDuke2882

    Thanks Bro!

  • You look like Ali G

  • @Netherlands1984

LOL. A Mexican German Mix version!

  • you look like Ali-G with that glasses :D

  • @Netherlands1984

LOL. A Mexican German Mix version!

  • @Netherlands1984 LMAO totally. One of my favorite comedians.

  • idk which one id like to steal first... that bike or that GTO in the garage

  • @BobMyself - Oh Hell NO! That's my real baby dude!!!! But it's not a GTO...Its better. 1965 Tempest!

  • @Skunkpu i really like to know that there are still people who actually care for their vehicles!

  • @wwfww Thanks man.

  • bonita a moto !! nice bike

  • @spindlerkart Thanks Mate!

  • GREAT BIKE MAN!!! I love everything about the setup on this bike!! Im just getting ready to buy a stock 1996 virago 750 and i want it to look exacly like how you had it. This is going to be my first and only bike, so i want it to be special, like yours. May you tell me all of the mods you did to this bike. From the bobber configuration all the way to performance upgrades. This will help SOO much! Thank you!

  • @mysteriousguy101 But it was so long ago. repainted the mags. Replaced stock bars with drag bars. Replaced horns with 82 horns. removed stock pipes and replaced with cobra pipes. Remolded seat wrapped in marine vinyl. Chopped rear frame. Side mounted the license. Went up a tire size (Not Safe Do Not Do This). Drilled bottom of airbox (This will make you run Rich). Re-jetted carbs. Perfomance plugs\wires. replaced shocks with progressives. Replaced all turn signals with bullet style.

  • What was she like to ride?

  • @ERST105 Like an untamed Unicorn! Magical...just magical.

  • i just bought a 92 virago and i cant stop watching this video. i love the flat black in all the right places. the sound is awesome, it even sounds like a harley when it cranks. mine needs a starter so im not sure how it will sound but i want the exhaust that is on your bike. i stripped that big ass seat and tail light off the bike with the first hour. i'd like to keep the original fender but just cut it down, but i cant find a low profile seat that will hide all the crap on the stock fender

  • @Wildstringr Sounds like you need to replace the fender and redo some wires. Good luck mate.

  • take that gay shit of the bars who needs a speedo, sounds good tho

  • @vonny012 LOL. Keeeps the coppers off my arse!

  • I'm in love ! I suddenly know what i want :)) Excellent blend !!!

  • @Geonious LOL. I moved...plus they were all senior citizens so they couldn't hear very well anyway! Ha!

  • @Geonious Thanks Mate!

  • I like it!!! I love the bobber look on the Virago. Im considering purchasing one.

Your last comment you said "Im gonna miss that bike". I can assure you that your neighbor's don't feel the same!! LOL!!

  • @scopenojagodes

Where the hell did you come up with that!? Google Vmax pictures and come back and watch this video again. It looks nothing like a Vmax!

  • lol. fuckin house is being brokin into! wait... its that damned nieghbor on his bike again...

  • @kylehaught HA! I cannot explain the experience of rolling into any parking lot filled with cars with this bike. I am not exaggerating when I say almost every alarm would go off when I passed it! AWESOME!

  • is it legal to have that register sign on the side like that?

  • @theblackbull55 No. It is illegal in the state of Texas. But they don't enforce it. Just like the helmet law. Illegal to not wear one. But they don't enforce.

  • @Skunkpu

yeah i noticed their still lot of people who dont wear helmets + have their plate on the side but thanks :) :)

  • @theblackbull55 No worries. Oh, also...in Texas you also must have at least three reflectors on the rear two in front and one on each side. My buddy recently got a ticket for this. I about laughed. The cop must have been in a bad mood and my buddy was speeding just a little bit. Ride Safe.

  • Comment removed

  • @Skunkpu

Oh yeah cops can have their bad days too! Thanks again! You ride safe too ^^

  • what kind of exhaust? or is it custom?

  • What kind of bars are those and the rear fender where did you get it. I hate the stock rear fender and bars on my 750. I like those alot.

  • @codyology Those are drag bars and I got them off of Ebay. make sure you get the correct diameter. Also, that is a trailer fender i bought at the hardware store. Just cut to fit.

  • what brand pipes you got

  • @wierstad69 Cobras.

  • i love this bike, when i get my 250cc virago,i will try to make her to look just like this!all respect for your work great skil!

    (sorry for my bad english)

  • Dude, ur english is right on. A 250? U need to upgrade man. Go for it and don't look back,

  • Great mod... Well done...

Was thinking of selling my '87 Virago 750, but I've now changed my mind... I'll be taking it apart completely, and restore/mod it when it's reassembled... Should keep me busy for a couple of months but hope it to be a fun experience... Many thanks for the vid

  • You should. I really regret selling it. Please let me know when you are done with it. I would like to see it. Thanks for the good comments! Good luck with your build!

  • Thanks man. Good luck with ur build. If u have any issues let me know. Regards.

  • I like it!

I customized my Virago a bit toward the Vincent look. It handled great. Don't know why I sold it.

  • LOL. Yea I'm with you there. So stupid to sell that bike.

  • Dude, i know how u feel. I was a dumb Ass for selling it. Man, wish I could get it back....for less the price. haha.

  • gorgeus bike mann i want one!!!!!

  • Thanks bud. Thanks a bunch!

  • lol..love it when the neighbors car alarm and dogs starts to "sing"..nice bike

  • They hated me in that neighborhood. Mysteriously all my pets disappeared!

  • just totally curious as to what seat you used for your virago bobber!

looks like a single saddle from a 250 ? or am i totally wrong ?

  • Nah, i just chopped off the rear end of the original and re-wrapped. That way it still fits perfectly between the frame and mounts the same way. Good luck.

  • what exhaust?

  • Cobra exhaust. Well worth the money. I actually only paid $80 for them as they were used and had a little surface rust. Buffed out the rust and painted with High Temp paint w/zinc. Turned out awesome.

  • btw this bike is such a beast. i heard alarms and dogs barking. wow.

  • i meant anyway.....:P

  • the thing is that i'm not from the us. i am a greek. and i don't know if i can find a virago so easily. nevermind, thanks for the help. i appreciate it. :)

  • NO worries. You should just find what u can and modify it. It's awesome to see what people can do with all the changes they make. I am going to post another Vid soon of my new bike. It is a 2003 Honda 750 Shadow....TOTALLY custom-ed out with cheap parts and raw material like rod iron, sheet metal etc.... Worked on it for weeks. Can';t wait to finish. Good Luck.

  • BADASS!!! Killer Virago. Exhaust setting off car alarms is freakin' awesome. Nice job!

  • Thanks man.

  • nice bro

  • Thanks man.

  • Nice ride! Question for you? I am 6' 225 lb, and my wife is 5'11, 130. Is the virago 750 big enough for the two of us for a 2 hour ride?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I'm 6' and 215, my wife is 6'1" and 170. A two hour ride on an '82 750 is easy. Will do 70+mph with power to spare and will deliver 34+/- mpg. If you're going to do a lot of riding, sweet talk her into two bikes and ride together. Running solo I get 40mpg at 70-80 mph on the interstate.

  • Thanks much for the feedback! Further question? Is there so much maintenance on an older virago required, that a city-living owner (i.e., no personal garage) would find it a strain doing lots of maintenance on the street? TIA!

  • No problem. Is there so much maintenance... no. It may take a bit to get her in shape if the previous owner didn't follow the maintenance schedule, but actual work required is pretty basic. Routine maintenance involves oil changes, spark plug adjustment/changing, valve clearance adjustment, brakes, control cable adjustment/lubrication, and carburetor synchronization. Nothing hairy. Buy a Haynes or Clymer manual and study it.

  • Thanks!

  • i am thinking of buying a virago. but a friend of mine told me to start with a 250 cc one. and i am not sure if i can find it in a good price, so it has not so many problems.

  • My opinion is that a 250 is just a waste of money. You could prolly spend a little more and get any 400cc out there, used, and you wouldn't worry so much about dropping it plus you could actually get on the highway. LOL. Viragos have very small frames and low center of gravity. Easy to put your feet down and control it at stops. It is a great beginner bike. Be careful and good luck.

  • if you were talking about sports bikes, your friend would be absolutely correct. however, a virago isn't built for performance. it's a cruiser.

I had the '535 as my first bike (after passing my test on a kawasaki er5) and it was the best thing for me. they aren't TOO powerful, yet they can still cruise if you need to. they are low, comfortable, easy to handle and beginner friendly. the shaft drive is fantastic. watch out for carburettor diaphragms, regulator/rectifier etc. if you're buying one.

  • im a novice i never had a bike and i would like to buy as a first bike a virago 535. some guy told me virago its not such a good bike but i want to hear more opinions about it. how do you guys find it? do you thinks it is a good reliable bike? is it good as a first bike? do you think at a better option for a starter? im only intrested in choppers btw. thanks and im waiting for your replys!!!

  • im also going to buy a 535 as a first bike soon dont listen to what others say its a great bike. 250 would be too small and 650 is too big for starting.. there is no other good 500 out there. yamaha, honda, suzuki are great brands those ppl who say there bad are rich american harley meatheads

  • Hi there. i'm selling a virago. owned it for a while and it was my first bike!

i'd say a few things about the 535 as a beginner's bike. it's not so powerful that you'll get caught out unawares by a surge of power, and yet you can get pretty fast (maybe 100mph) even if it takes a while to get there. The brakes aren't brilliant, so remember that it's still a lot easier than a car to get into trouble by going too fast. it's very comfortable on motorways and small roads. overall a great bike.

  • but in the end i was too tall for it! Viragos are small bikes, and after a few months i found i was craving something that fitted me a bit better. still, i'd recommend the virago to anyone. it's pretty much the perfect beginner's bike. relaxed, low, comfy, not too intimidating. capable of cruising at a good speed and you probably won't get bored of it too quickly either. not as quick as a similar sized sporty bike that wants to be driven fast and can't be because it doesn't have the power.

  • Well said. The frames on the viragos are wayyyy small but if you are just starting out on a bike it would be a perfect transition bike for you.

  • Man, I bought that bike in 94'. I sold it in 2008. The only mechanical part I ever had to put in it was the voltage regulator/rectifier. That's 14 years man and I rode every single day I could. Never had a problem with it otherwise. The only reason it went out on me is because I was stuck in a flood and and got trapped between low water crossings on a back road. I doubled back when I couldn't go any farther and the water closed in on me.
