.. seeing they see not, hearing they hear not, neither do they understand
If there is any doubt in your mind, please reread the bible yourself. Interrupt what you understand and accept from the Bible, what you do not understand just put it aside. You should find then Jesus said the same as all the previous prophets.
sparky: THIS video is about TUCC's press conference and invitation to others in the faith community to begin a "sacred conversation" about race in churches around the country. Some of the others were put up when this whole "Rev Wright is Hateful" controversy began, to offer insight and a closer look at the church, it's ministries and what they do. It was connected to Obama, because the "snippets" were about attacking Obama based on deliberate misrepresentations about his church and pastor.
photo: I'm glad you're voting in your best interest and still backing Obama but I think you misunderstand about Rev Wright. He doesn't need to grasp for the limelight. Rev has been lecturing/preaching nationally to HIS audience of choice (faith community) for over 36 years. Timing was unfortunate for Obama's campaign, but African American faith traditions and Trinity and its members (physically, literally) are being repeatedly threatened and caricatured. Your empathy was not misplaced.
Are these videos posted by TUCC? If they are, then why are almost all the video's titled with Obama? If you say Obama is "just 1member", then why are you bringing attention to almost all the video's captioning them with "Obama"?
i saw rev. wright on the bill maher show [pbs]. a few days ago. he is a highly intelligent man and knows the bible. if the WHOLE speech had been heard, you would understand the bytes that were played by the media for devious reasons.HE WAS TYING IN THE WICKED EARLY DAYS OF BIBICAL TIMES WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY IN AMERICA. only the ignorant and narrowminded construed the snippets of that speech to be devious against obama.
looteybelle the people in the media knows it wasn't racist or anti american it just politics, people feed of what is fed to them by the media. and most american are stupid to understand this is just politics. so they ride on the band wasson
G-d Bless Rev Wright, you have served your church and your country well. The truth always hurts, I have confidence that you will weather the storm. YOU are a Marine and a warrior for G-d.The Lord has a purpose in this and YOU are his messenger
GOOD JOB TRINITY. I grew up on Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. I live in CT but grew up in Chi-Town. Rev. Moss and Trinity have your stuff together. Actually great JOB. I am proud to have been influenced by your church memebrship and church ministries. I stand with you.
AMEN my brothers & sisters in Christ. I stand with you in the glory that is Christ Jesus. Keep your heads held high, and never let the light stop shining in the darkness. Because the darkness can never overcome!
speak Brother. It is so good to see something positive coming from something intended to be negative. Many Blessings to Trinity and it's congregation.
Kudos Revs. Moss, Kinnamon, Thomas, Father Pfleger, Bishop McKenzie and scores of others for courage & integrity in standing w/their sister congregation "under siege" rather than "distancing" themselves--as seems to be customary! What a painful yet historic opportunity for long-overdue public discussion of those taboo subjects of race and religion. Prayerfully, places of worship around the country will accept your 5/18 challenge & begin the difficult discussion of race w/in their sacred spaces.
Thanks for your sharing and openenss and God Bless you all. I am a catholic white male age 44 (it's the season for identity politics). If the Kennedy's pastors (priests) and sermons (homilies) and theology were judged by the standards that Obama's are then no Kennedy would be in office. To each of us our religion has its own familiar language and tone. When brought out of its context it can't be understood. We turn bread and wine in to Christ's literal body and blood and eat it.
