WTF is everyone babbling about? Evolution and creationism is no longer a debate. Evolution won that crap hands down ages ago. With ease and over flowing evidence. As for the video, It is a pretty neat attempt, I still think the age of the site is a big question.
Leaving aside what seems to have become a pointless creationist/evolutionist debate (I wonder why?), I would say that the T-shaped pillars are too big, too heavy just to support a simple hatched roof - it does not make much sense. Besides, such a roof would be too fragile to support the big monkeys, good enough for just a few bananas, and lots of bacterial flagellums.
If they are intelligent enough to build these stone supports, then they are intelligent enough know that they can carry 100's of tons of weight. Try putting a lid on it. Like a Vimana. Then keep your food gathers in the bottom with the food. They can even cook there if your lid is made of metal and 15 feet high.
Nice place to park your intergalactic motorhome while you build your real house.

The most mysterious aspects of Gobekli Tepe--like why the stones get bigger and better as they get older--were explained in The Urantia Book in 1955, about 40 years before they even discovered this incredibly amazing archaeological site. you're wrong man... if you put the pillars in the wall like that, than all the reliefs and the drawings on their surface are a nonsense! this is your personal idea about the construption but it sounds too much simplified and totally wrong to me.
Sorry man, U FAIL! As far as I know, the outer Pillars (if those are the ones ur refering to) were constructed BEFORE the guys who built the rest decided to rais a wall between them- so yeah, ditto. The reliefs on those Pillars would have been covered!
No, this site is at the end of the upper paleolithic which was c40,000-c10,000BC or 12,000BP (before the present). Gobekli Tepe is dated to at least 12,000BP and may be as old as 13,000BP - thence, it is upper paleolithic. I checked the dictionary and Wikipedia, both agreed.
Besides the fact that wikipedia isn't a reliable resource, your facts are straight. The oldest parts of the site may date towards the latest of the late paleolithic or early mesolithic.
Yes but it's not unlikely. The reliefs on the pillars might have serveda similar purpose as the murals in Altamira in which they tell story that was made more compelling with fire. That's why fire pits.
I understand but fire has recognisable effects on stone which would be obvious they might not have been used however or posibly fire could have been kindled in some sort of container or animal fat floating wick or some such other method. certainly the snake image would not be out of place with fire.

If you read what they have discovered on the site you would see this too.
No roof and the small stones put everywhere into the whole site (also in the middle) was put there to hide the place,
cover it up, for a reason we don't yet know.

you're wrong man... if you put the pillars in the wall like that, than all the reliefs and the drawings on their surface are a nonsense! this is your personal idea about the construption but it sounds too much simplified and totally wrong to me.
fenotipobombay 2 years ago 13
Sorry man, U FAIL! As far as I know, the outer Pillars (if those are the ones ur refering to) were constructed BEFORE the guys who built the rest decided to rais a wall between them- so yeah, ditto. The reliefs on those Pillars would have been covered!

when I look at that fire pit it reminds me of the one about 100 foot in front of the senate house in the roman forum

In the description you said it was a paleolithic site, but it's actually meso/neolithic.

Ooops- my bad. But it's now corrected.
AjPuj 2 years ago
No, this site is at the end of the upper paleolithic which was c40,000-c10,000BC or 12,000BP (before the present). Gobekli Tepe is dated to at least 12,000BP and may be as old as 13,000BP - thence, it is upper paleolithic. I checked the dictionary and Wikipedia, both agreed.
butlerson 2 years ago 2
Besides the fact that wikipedia isn't a reliable resource, your facts are straight. The oldest parts of the site may date towards the latest of the late paleolithic or early mesolithic.

@butlerson....all the intelligent words for your conclusion to say you checked with wikipedia?

nice but there is no evidence of fire in the fire pits.
ooglebydoogleby 2 years ago
Yes but it's not unlikely. The reliefs on the pillars might have serveda similar purpose as the murals in Altamira in which they tell story that was made more compelling with fire. That's why fire pits.
AjPuj 2 years ago
I understand but fire has recognisable effects on stone which would be obvious they might not have been used however or posibly fire could have been kindled in some sort of container or animal fat floating wick or some such other method. certainly the snake image would not be out of place with fire.
