Alienware makes me want to puke. They are over-hyped and way over priced. Plus they're parts arent even that great. This thing will prolly melt under regular conditions and over-clocking (if they dont lock their hardware) will prolly make it explode.
Your completely correct on that one. I built my computer from scratch. It cost me around 2,500£ and its probably 2-3 x better than any of the alienwares i've seen. Ontop of that when i built a computer on their site it cost almost twice as much as mine with half the specs. Makes me laugh.
i have the best upgrades you can get for this laptop mine gets very hot too its just beacuse the preformance it has hard to keep any thing cool with this much power

EastTunerz is right, almost every model alienware makes is made by clevo, even the m9700. (all the ones that say "NOTEBOOK COMPUTER" on the bottom are clevo), and clevo dose sell there units to sager in addition to alienware, on an OEM level.
going on the pictures in this review the m7700/d900t has alot more ports, the major difference between this and the m7700 is the 9700 has sli support and a 20" screen
you obviousaly dont know what you are talking about, nither voodoo or alienware make there own laptops, there both made by clevo and uniwell. and some previous models (ex. envy m:350, compal), clevo sells the same models to sager, so if you buy one that was badged as a sager you can save alot of money.
and FYI the dell inspiron 9100 was build by compal for dell.
alienware do make their own laptops....they have at least one manufacturing plant in america and one in athlone ireland for the whole of europe. EastTunerz get your facts right before you start spitting out garbage

It's heavy, but a powerful laptop. For gamin, its the best. Movie editing, it would work great since the graphic cards provide great crisp pictures. Though not very portable, its a great laptop. Their not that heavy.

well it depends...if you prefer better graphics get the Aurora M9700. It'll be worth your money. the only problem with the aurora is that it's not CPU Duo..but if you prefer a overall good graphics and fast CPU, get the Area 51 M5790..an average good laptop will cost you about 1 grand up...
m9750, never tested one myself but it looks quite good. lees heat problems , better price efficiency(according to rumors) 17", 2x GforceGo 7950, Core 2 Duo and 2x 200GB HDD. if thay wuld bring that thing with GeF.8 *g*

if you play/work on a table a dell m2010 would be better.
its not rely hot but it is for a hi-end notebook a bit hot and noisy. the graphic performance is uber but graphic is not everything. and the keypad is not relay good, and the battery life is quite low.
my end statement: its a great notebook with alienware quality. it is a bit to expensive. so if price doesn't mater and you rely want the m9700 then you'll be happy with it
What you mean PowerSlouch is that the pirce will start around $2000 with the lowest config(no SLI) If you config it up to $3000 - $4000 then you get two Nvidia 7950 GTX and Intel core 2 Duo 2.33
They showed off the Area-51 m9750 at CES recently. Intel Core 2 Duo + Dual SLI Nvidia Geforce Go 7950 GTX. And they said they were also trying to keep it around $2000. Fucking crazy.
The Aurora m9700 actually runs pretty hot...he said it runs cool towards the end there...

i don't have it myself but i work with one over 4000$ quite often. personally i wouldn't pay that much if you can play almost as good with an dell inspiron 9400.
if you play/work on a table a dell m2010 would be better.

its not rely hot but it is for a hi-end notebook a bit hot and noisy. the graphic performance is uber but graphic is not everything. and the keypad is not relay good, and the battery life is quite low.
my end statement: its a great notebook with alienware quality. it is a bit to expensive. so if price doesn't mater and you rely want the m9700 then you'll be happy with it

What you mean PowerSlouch is that the pirce will start around $2000 with the lowest config(no SLI) If you config it up to $3000 - $4000 then you get two Nvidia 7950 GTX and Intel core 2 Duo 2.33
It's ture, it does run preaty hot.

They showed off the Area-51 m9750 at CES recently. Intel Core 2 Duo + Dual SLI Nvidia Geforce Go 7950 GTX. And they said they were also trying to keep it around $2000. Fucking crazy.
The Aurora m9700 actually runs pretty hot...he said it runs cool towards the end there...
