I know what you are saying. There are opportunities out there for EVERYONE. I am white, I've lived in an apartment complex for over 15 yrs along with many of my friends, whom were mostly black. We grew tired of the shit, we used the money we had to get out of the complex and now live rather normal lives. It's the motivation factor. It costs money to get an education, so use that money that you have grinded for and make something happen!
