  • @TROGANHORSE100 I am 52 and I love Jackie Gleason's Orchestra....and they did a fabulous job on this tune.....

  • Wow! This beautiful piece is truly a lounge classic! I have a pre-recorded audio tape called Sweet And Lovely with selected relaxing instrumentals and this particular tune happened to play but, what I did not know was this lovely tune was by the late great Jackie Gleason! I looked up the Errol Garner version of this song first to hear it, scrolled down the list for this video and BINGO! You've totally made my night listening to this awesome classic! Thank you for the post!

  • Does anyone know if Gleason actually did the arrangements for his albums, or did he just put his name on the covers?

  • ♪^^Dear vraydio さん^^♪

    Thank you for comment.

In Japan, there is little information about Jackie Gleason.

I had you teach this splendid music from father.

    And I ordered many CDs.

    Please have a good day.^^☆

  • @vraydio Actually Jackie couldn't write music, but would explain, even hum, to someone who could write it how he wanted it to sound. I think it worked out extremely well that way.

  • @70bassman92 It sure did, thank you.

  • @70bassman92 I agree, I don't think he could write or read music! He had these sweet arrangements in his head of classic love songs. Then he picked one of the best cornet/trumpet players ever, Bobby Hackett. I have a lot of his jazz recordings, but very few horns ever sounded as sweet. I don't know who the arrangers were on these works, but the thing is Jackie put this all together and made it happen!

  • @450984 I read somewhere that Bobby did some of the arranging, but I'm sure there were others. Anyway, good job by all concerned.....

  • Gleason was phenomenal!

Soo many gone and I don't see new ones these days! Oh well.....happy I am closer to the end than the beginning!
