No dobbie no this is wrong. Mark was so close to normalcy in a weird way but in a way he deserves what he's got since he's decided that it would be better to be in a loveless marriage with a kid whose paternity is in question than stay with a girl that actually makes him genuinely happy. A no brainer for some but not for this character ~sigh~
this show is so weird.. .it makes me feel bad most of the time... and you know its always gonna end badly for them but you keep watching anyway... what a shitty great show acutally
Only God knows when season 6 is coming, i dont personally think there will be 1 cus of there new show "Mitchell and Webb look"on bbc2. if season 6 came my life would be complete.
In a way- Peep Show is kinda all about awkwardness and funnyness that makes it so fun to watch. I like how they ended the fifth series in a happy way and not a miserable no hope left way. There has to be that union with Jez and Mark.
series 5 was when peep show started getting really detailed and moving. like the way at 1:10 when mark is just sitting there really miserably cos of dobbie, but it's not said. series 6 is gonna be so good, provided mark wins dobbie in the end
Where's the evidence? Ive never seen any information saying they write it...says nothing in the credits also...I might be wrong, but if so it'd be nice if you could show me.
I don't think either is internet culture. Scientology exists outside of the internet and is reported on in various other forms of media (e.g. television!).
Whereas the humour of the world of warcraft parody (which I don't consider the game in this to be, given there are various other mmorpgs which existed before WoW) comes simply from how geeky it is. If this was made in another time any other thing could replace it quite easily; e.g. the dungeons and dragons board game.
I wasn't really arguing with you I was merely disagreeing/expressing a contrary opininion (which I do actually hold btw; it's kind of condescending to dismiss my opinion as merely arguing for the sake of argument, wouldn't you say?).
I didn't assume your observation was merely posturing, so why assume there was any pretence to mine? Now that I look at yours actually, it contains an answer to a question which someone had already answered.

wtf is up with british television and the six episode series??? just as the story arc gets developed and you get hooked, its all over for six months or more...again.... if this were an american show, it would only be halfway through season 2 by now, instead of the end of season 5....its criminal, just criminal.... sure, there's the quality v. quantity argument, but only talentless softcock writers argue that.... come on england, give us at least a 10 episode season...sheesh.

My beef was with the British broadcasting habit of being tied to a six episode format, which in my opinion, leaves viewers open to being prematurely cut off from the story arc of a great show.
It also leaves open the problem of the viewing audience missing a series altogether or it being finished its run by the time word of mouth has gotten them interested. This was certainly the case for other excellent British shows such as "Extras" and most certainly for "The Office" which required a re run of season 1 before taking off in Britain if you remember correctly....Great shows all, yet nobody there seems smart enough to realise this major deficit in bringing shows to the British public.
In America, most shows have dozens of writers, especially comedies. Friends for example had about 20 staff writers. Peep Show is written entirely by two people. As a result, Friends could do more episodes per year, but it was much more inconsistent.

your argument is made moot by the point that any show that obtains poor ratings would be pulled before airing 26 episodes, thats why they shoot a split season in the U.S.....Although I do agree that the Beeb does need to work on correct demographics in relation to focus groups for pilots.
