Let me tell you what this is. A joke. What is the point? What does it help? The answeris there is no point, and it doesn't help a damn thing. So what if you can move 800lbs 2 inches. Put a video on here worth watching. Like a real 800lbs bench press with no straps, no bench shirt, and no stupid ass four inch piece of wood!
Well you are right about one thing, this is not bench press. This is board pressing, an assistance exercise for bench pressing. The idea is to build lockout power for the actual bench press. If you can bench more than 800, good for you! At least you should be modest. I'll try to post better vids in the near future.
It's more for the triceps and if the powerlifter has a hard time at lock out. It also helps with stability and being able to handle more weight as well as helping your psych get over the fact that you're handling heavy weight. It's simply powerlifting instead of bodybuilding.
Nice job. Feel a little unstable at the beginning? lol
@TdubGlenn I'm not sure you comprehend how much weight 800 lbs is, it's probably 8 times your bodyweight. I'd consider it to be a very accomplished deadlift, benching it, even off a 4 board is exceptional. Also, I don't think anyone's going to be benching 800 lbs raw anytime soon.
wow there are allot of no it all no nothings on this thing,if you dont know what your talking about dont post and secondly why dont all you critics post vids of your 800lbs benches and show us how its done, idiots, anyway nice going man keep up the great work and dont let these haters bring you down
this technique of pressing on a board in training makes it safer to lift big weights as it greatly reduces strain on the shoulder and front deltoid which is where most people eventually hurt themselves doing flat bench.you can work different ranges in the bench by using thicker or thinner boards.
the only reason why he trains with a board is bc of the tremendous amount of weight that he presses, he wouldnt be able to press 800 lbs without the board... its a perfect workout for his shoulder, triceps etc. He tricks his mind that he can bench more, that way he gets stronger and more explosive... shit, after watching this clip, I'm pretty sure he can bench 650 lbs like the air he's breathing... but 800, idk, i guess he needs more practice...
that looks healthy (sarcasm)

My best competition bench is 700 lbs, so 800 lbs is indeed still far away. I just wanted to know how 800 feels like. Gotta have goals in life.

p. s. those shirts are serioulsy the gayest thing in the world, they give a false example of how much you can really lift and look ridiculous.

You sound like a dumb bodybuilder - I bet you don't even weigh 250.
biglogstrongman 4 years ago
very good. i weigh 185. and im a powerlifter that knows what real lifting is, not this false displays of strength that these girly-men put forward.
pablo169 3 years ago
congradulations, you can move 800 lbs. 5".
how does that really translate? size? weight gain? not too much bud. theres no r.o.m. there
pablo169 4 years ago
It doesn't look like the guy lying down did any work at all to me. The guy giving it to him was responsible for all the lifting in this vid.
hotqueekboi 4 years ago
interesting? i just wish they didn't use the special lifting suits that add support to the lifting. i would rather see belt and wrist straps only.

damn , whats the name on this guy ? he is great !

i didnt see the bar come close, or even move at all for that matter, and thats a 3 board press(6 inches). i pitty your elbows
funkdandy 4 years ago
Yes, it is a 3-board press. However, my 3-board
is only 4" tall. The vertical range of motion
in this particular exercise is 5", not 0".
heittoka 4 years ago
thats alot of wieght i have to say lol, i wish he could lift it higher
