  • is garlic and onions really necessary?

  • i would love you to become my mom and cook for me :)

    im hungry :(

  • @bettyskitchen Hi Betty! Thnx for your recipes. You said these noodles don't have to be boiled . Is that because you used the no-boil kind of noodles or regular noodles?

  • @IamAbillionaireNow These are regular noodles. It has plenty of sauce and cooks long enough for them to soften perfectly!

    --Betty :)

  • Great video, Betty! How long would I have to cook two at the same time?

  • @theblacklincoln It would be close to the same amount of time; just allow a little bit longer.

    --Betty :)

  • I LOVE YOU, BETTY! :)

  • @akcl828 Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • hi, this is the best recipe of lasagna i have encountered so far but i have a question, don't we have to biol the noodles first?

  • @footykrazy You don't have to boil the lasagna noodles in this recipe. That's why I call it the "easiest!" In my other lasagna recipes, the noodles have to be boiled.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen hello first i would like to say i love the videos i think its good that its not too time consuming seeing how these days people are in a rush and need a great homecooked meal thats easy and fun for everyone and second i always wonder if you can use feta instead of cottage cheese and how would it taste ???

  • Hi again betty okay i see your recipe but the one i was looking for for her was a fresh ingrediants one and not jars or packets.

    Thanks Chef Richard

  • @RuMxIRKilleR Hi Chef Richard, I don't think I have a lasagna recipe that starts with fresh tomatoes. I always used a bottled sauce.

    --Betty :)

  • @kadeedar15 I don't have a recipe for potato pie. That's not something we see where I live. I do have several potato casseroles.

    --Betty :)

  • Yogurt in Lasagna? Interesting concept. Sounds like it would be healthier. Might have to try that.

  • can i just use cream cheese instead of ricotta cheese? Because it's kinda hard to find ricotta/cottage cheese at my place.. It wouldn't harm the lasagna , wouldn't it? xD .. Pls help ~

  • @MileyRoss Cream cheese is a great substitute for ricotta cheese in this recipe.

    --Betty :)

  • I tried it yesterday with the incredients I found in Germany. And I left the egg.

But nevertheless i was astonished that we liked it a lot. The cottage cheese-mixture was a surprise.... :O))

    --Betty :)

  • Looks great Betty!

  • Thank you betty really looks v delicious :-)

  • This is the second American video I've seen where cottage cheese and eggs are used as the white sauce instead of the traditional béchamel sauce. I've never seen this before. Even though I love cottage cheese, I'm not convinced this would taste nice. How would you compare it to the béchamel sauce lasagna?

  • @sinkvenice The type of lasagna typically made where I live has either cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. I don't know how it would compare with the way you make it.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Have you ever tried to make it with béchamel sauce? If not, I highly recommend it! I'm from London, England and I don't think anybody here has heard of the ricotta or cottage cheese version. I think I'll give it a go to compare! You never know, it might start a new phemonenon!

  • @sinkvenice It is actually what I grew up on. To be honest, sometimes I have a taste for it, and sometimes the traditional Either way, it is actually tasty! You should try some :P

  • @sinkvenice I have had both, the bechamel kind and the cottage cheese kind. I grew up with the bechamel sauce, but came to find cottage cheese to be a nice alternative. it isn't as creamy, but it is nice and fresh and really milky, which I think works great with the tomato sauce. the cool milky flavor meeting the tard, tangy tomato sauce. Try it, I am sure you'll enjoy it.

  • @kelzie80 Hi! Thanks for your lovely comment! I'm not familiar with Pavlova--I will need to check it out!

    --Betty :)

  • @kelzie80 I think its basically egg whites and sugar, then topped with cream and fruit :-)

  • When I make my lasagna I use similar ingredients but cover the top with shredded mozzarella cheese so that it doesn't dry out when it is refrigerated afterwards. Plus I will add some cream to my sauce to make it a rosee type sauce to cut the acidic taste of the sauce. This looks delicious!

  • @goldengirl67 Thnaks for your nice comment! Youhave some great tips!

    --Betty :)

  • Always great to see you teach, and make things easier....Thank you Betty!

  • It is always great to see you teach, and make things easier. Thank you Betty!

  • betty, good tip for you! put the water in the recipe, right into the sauce jar to rinse out every bit of the sauce from the jar.. love your shows, i watch often. good stuff!

  • betty when you add the water you could pour it into the pasta sauce bottle shake it around and get the remainder of the sauce. Just a thought

  • @mario102395 ..funny. i said the same thing.. good tip!

  • Lasagna turned out delicious!

  • @lisabyx Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it!

  • Which One Is The Best Lasagna Recipe You Have Out Of The Three You Have?

    1. Betty's Lazy Lasanga Recipe

    2. Betty's Easiest, Best-Tasting Lasagna You'll Ever Make! Recipe

    3. Betty's Sister's Lasagna

  • @PrettylindaCp Well, all my children are pretty and smart, but (if you promise not to tell the other two), I might have to give the nod to the Easiest, Best-Tasting Lasagna You'll Ever Make.

Really, you can't go wrong with any one of them.

    --Betty :)

  • advice, take ur cup of water ur adding to ur sauce and ur meat, and add it to the prego jar, theres alot of sauce in there, makes for a thicker and richer sauce and less wasting =)

  • Another Mouth Watering Recipe! 1,000,000 Stars*******

  • will it make a difference if we use cooked pasta cuz i use cooked pasta..

  • @furberry101 Using cooked pasta is fine!

    --Betty :)

  • OMG I want to try this!

  • this is amazing...when u put the pasta sauce in put some water in the jar and shake it so you can get all off the sauce out :)

  • thanks looks good ! i tried it and loved it =] thnx again betty <3 xoxoxo

  • i always make a bechamel-sauce instead of the cheese-mixture. thats a bit more italian and tastes soo good. Try it, its so nice :)

Thanks for all your recipes! :)

  • looks good ive always wanted to make my own lasagna i dont like cottage cheese or rocotta can i just use mozzarella instead?

  • @nickgratton1 Yes, use mozzarella, or a mixture of mozzarella, Parmesan, Romano, Asiago--any or all of those. Thanks for asking!

    --Betty :)

  • @nickgratton1 You can also try beschamel sauce

  • Hi Betty =). So this was my first ever attempt at making lasagna, and it was so delicious that my picky sister actually went for seconds...sorry, FOURTHS. Lol. I followed the recipe exactly but found it to be extremely runny. It tasted amazing though (especially with the cottage cheese). I keep wondering though if it was the yogurt that made mine pretty runny. Thanks for the great recipe, Betty. I will definitely try this one again =)

  • @swtkandii Thanks for the great feedback! I can't imagine why it was runny. You can cut back on the water; I always use yogurt, and it sets up, but is still moist.

    --Betty :)

  • Hey bettye i'm making this tomorrow. Quick question, is it safe to make the lasagna before church, and then bake it lets say 3 hours when I get back? If not, I will go ahead and just do the whole process when I get back.

  • @Whitneyluva You definitely can make it before church. Just put it in the refrigerator until you get back. Then it can go right into the oven!

    --Betty :)

  • HI Bettye, this looks great! I will definitely be trying this next weekend. A few questions. You didn't say exactly how many lbs of ground beef you used, what is your suggestion. Also, this may be a stupid question, but I didn't see you drain the meat, did you skip that process, or is the fact that you used low fat eliminate the need for draining.

  • @Whitneyluva Thanks for your lovely comment! I use 1 pound lean ground beef. (You can see the complete recipe by clicking "more info" in the right side bar.)

    --Betty :)

  • I'll have to mark this page, this looks SO good! :D

  • @LAblarfle Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • man, i cant wait to try this, it looks really delicious!

    THANKS BETTY!! :)

  • I hope you enjoy the lasagna! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • i love that u dont have to cook the noodles cuz it is annoying process when u do

  • That's a great selling point for this recipe--plus it tastes really good! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • This looks great. The middle layer looks so much easier than what I usually do (make a bechamel/cheese sauce). Must try it.

I usually put the lasagna sheets on the bottom of the baking dish before any meat sauce. It makes the lasagna easier to scoop out - they still come out fully cooked. Thanks Betty.

  • I hope you had an opportunity to try the lasagna. It's really easy and tastes great! I like your idea of placing the lasagna sheets on the bottom of the baking dish. Thanks for a great tip!

    --Betty :)

  • wow... very delicious recipe.. thanks for the video.

    regards from ladakh.

  • Thanks for your kind comment!

    --Betty :)

  • excellent video! you've inspired me to use your recipe to cook a lasagna on my day off :D

    Hello from Australia, cheers

    Tyler.

  • Hi Tyler,

I hope you enjoyed the lasagna!

    --Betty :)

  • I made this for dinner tonight. I was really 'if-ey' on the yogurt and cottage cheese but it turned out great! My whole family loved it. Thank you so much for posting this - just subscribed! =-)

  • I'm glad it turned out great! Thanks for the lovely feedback, and thanks for subscribing!

    --Betty :)

  • It looked really delicious.

  • It's delicious--and *very* easy to make! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • This recipe is a good choice if you don't cook a lot. You don't even need to cook the lasagna noodles first--you just lay them in the layered casserole, and once it's baked, you have a very large casserole of lasagna--make sure your baking dish is large! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Wow Betty! Lasagna doesn't have to scarey any more...with "ooching and ouching" burned fingers from hot noodles...bless you Betty!

  • This is just about the only way I make lasagna anymore--no pre-cooking of noodles! Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • yogurt!

  • Yes, i use plain yogurt! I hope you like the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • I use individual oven to table dishes now, saves all the messy serving and looks great

  • That's a great way to be looking ahead to the clean-up! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • Why don't you add the water to the pasta sauce jar, and shake it so that you get all the pasta sauce out of the jar?

  • Actually, I normally do--I just didn't know how viewers would react to that on my video. I figured they would do that themselves, if they normally do! Thanks for noticing, and giving the tip!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for this video.. sorry I didn't see it before requesting you to do a lasagna recipe. I appreciate you using low fat options, too. I'm going to try this soon!

  • Great! Good luck with your lasagna!

    --Betty :)

  • great recipe

how much meat did you use?

    and how much onion?

    thanks!

  • I used 1 pound lean ground beef and 1 large chopped onion. I hope this helps! Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Yum! I love lasagna and this recipe looks so easy and delicious! Thanks :D

  • It is the easiest that I've found--and it really is delicious! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • any lasagna made without ricotta isn't really lasagna.

  • Most people are more likely to have cottage chesse, but I agree with you--ricotta is the best! (You'll notice that this recipe takes liberties on lots of things--like not cooking the lasagna noodles beforehand! It's designed to be super easy.) Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • It should come out fine! Good luck! Thanks for viewing (and trying!).

    --Betty :)

  • Thank you. i haven' got all the ingredience but i'll improvise. it sounds like it's gonna be delicious.

Fingers crossed xx it goes well. this is my first time making it.
