Instead we are called to be humble and loving (endless Gospel passages could be inserted here to back me up). Jesus came down and loved all of us, and he most certainly loved his own mother. You are wrong. Jesus built His Church to do this. The Holy Spirit is the soul of the Church, and indwells each believer, but God set up the Church (as a visible society, not just a spiritual association) to spread and guard His Gospel. The Spirit was sent to sanctify us, not to teach us. Scripture and the Church are our teacher. The Spirit might prompt us, but doesn't (usually) directly reveal to us the Gospel.
@Citcam1 You are right in regards to discernment. We should always be open to the Spirit guiding ourselves. We can generally tell if an apparition is Godly or demonic by what it says and does. God can talk to a person or a group any way He wants.

While the saints await the resurrection of their bodies, their eternal souls are in heaven. "The poor man died and was carried away by angels Luke" 16.22. My thinking is not against scripture. In the same way that Lazarus was carried to heaven, so too was Mary, as per the earliest theological doctrines of St. Jude and St. Simon Peter, the writers of some of the scriptures.

@Citcam1 The doctrines of Mary's assumption, as well as the Immaculate Conception were formed by St. Peter and St. Jude. Mary first appeared to St. Jude shortly after her death. Both of these saints are responsible for writing the scriptures. Just because their Mary doctrines never officially made it into the scripture doesn't discredit it entirely. And for the record, I (and most Catholics) do not regard Mary as equal to Jesus. She is merely a saint, like Peter and Jude

The Church leadership investigates apparitions to discern and officially declare whether or not an apparition is Godly or not (ie Fatima). That's one way the society Jesus founded protects her family from demonic influence.

You're right, in an absolute context. But Mary can and does "save" us by helping us turn to Jesus (the same way you "save" someone by giving them the Gospel and they accepting it). As in the Wedding at Cana, she is pointing to Jesus and telling us "Do whatever He tells you."
I think that since God "normally" spreads the Gospel by human agency, any apparition should be suspect until proven Godly. Many are confirmed Godly.

@Zebedex At least that's what's written, that Jesus' Kingdom is not of this world and that who would cheat everybody in the future by healing with his wicked power and trying to bring peace amongst people is the Devil who's the ruler of this world. E.g., statues, perhaps that's the reason why the Commandment prevents people from making statues, because God obviously would know how the enemy would behave in the future and warned His people before. C. Church is the Harlot and Pope the Antichrist.

@marxpanda Well, I was just trying to point it out through the Christian perspective which is not even my own perspective, you know? And not the only Christian perspective either. That's how those matters would be explained through a certain Christian perspective, that's it. So, don't take it as a definitive view. My own view is a way different, I don't even believe in any of those things at all. I just respect and like to entertain studying about with people interested, be it funny or not. :)

How many times to I have to explain this?!! Catholics do NOT worship the Virgin Mary, they venerate her. THERES A BIG DIFFERENCE! Catholics worship only God. Many people who are not Catholics and dont understand Catholicism make the mistake of thinking Catholics worship Mary. THEY DONT. Where does the Bible say that Mary was in the same league as the Saints? Never does the Bible mention that Mary is a Saint or should be worshipped. This is one of only two bones I have to pick with the Catholic Church. Not to offend anyone, but worshipping Mary in anyw ay, shape, or form is Idolatry. "Thou shalt not have any gods before me." This means that although you may not think of Mary as a goddess, you're putting her in the same league as God by creating statues of her and bowing to them

I don't believe in any religion, in any God, I would rather humanity to be a bit more realistic and instead of inventing stories to reassure their fear they should instead cultivate love between people. Love is my religion. I don't often succeed but I always try. The fact that anyone can still believe in religions purely man made stories to frighten the populations is beyond me. 95% of the actual and past wars were and are due to religions!
