Thanks for the comment, I do not know whether you are Iranian or not. I am, and I live there. In this part of the world elections have never been fair.

Polls in Iran differ than that of those taken in the west. I agree a lot of people voted for Ahmadinejad because the benefit from the government. Remember the same generation that shouted long live shah turned against him. what happened then can happen now again.

How can you say what Iranian thinks if you take a sample of even 10000 from 70000000 population? this poll is certainly not representative of the Iranian people, the best indicator of how Iranian feel. they have been killed, tortured and are oppressed on daily basis for the last 31 years. this poll is misleading and endorses an illegitimate regime which in a last ditch effort to save itself may be ready to strike a deal with the US and west. I hope that the US and west are not misguided by this,

Hi there Youtubelover! Sorry to lecture, but polls usually take samples of only fractions of the population. They still prove to be reliable if taken by reliable, unbiased pollsters. All hype aside, regardless of the fact that I have little love lost for the Iranian regime and the reign of the mullahs, I believe the population of Iran (aside from the capital) elected the current government to be in office.

The sample size related margin of error for 10000ppl is 1% whether the subject group is 90 million or 900 quadrillion, it doesn't make a difference.

what a terrible study 1000 people over the phone and done by Tehran Uni...these guys have no clue...It is weird in all my life 30 years in Iran from eastern tehran to south and north and all these people I met, I never had a chance to meet these people who participated in this polll.....of course if you ask Tehran uni led by specific people for a phone interview they give you one result today and a different tomorrow..

It is great that Americans want to have a better understanding of Iran, pat on the back, although obviously this poll failed miserably. Self censorship is a MAJOR factor in Iran as a form of self preservation therefore 64% approval for Ahmadinejad and 83% thought elections were fare :)))) The repression is so severe in Iran that NO ONE would give honest answers on phone to relatives, less so to unknown poll representative calling from outside Iran. the margin of error should be - + 60%
